This is our 3rd Cuisinart Griddler. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf We live in a condo, so the Griddler is our only option for preparing grilled food at home. We literally wore out Griddler # 2 (Griddler #1 was returned with a defective part and replaced, no questions asked). We love this new and improved design. Only 2 plates - instead of 4 - which counts in a small kitchen. The grease trap is a real improvement over the little cups that were sometimes forgotten and sometimes turned over! We decided to cook less with the cover closed, which seems to dry food out quickly, and we really like the result. The "sear" setting works great too. We use our new Griddler for fish to Cuban Sandwiches and beyond. I highly recommend the Griddler!
Absolutely steel! Why? Because I get drunk and make crazy things, experiment, try out new things and then I drop things on my griddle top and if I drop something on the ceramic, I can guarantee I'll damage that surface. :D I just love cooking and sharing my inventions!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes they're bad but MOST of the time they're awesome. There's nothing better than relaxing on a Friday or Saturday night with (probably too much) vodka, a great cook, and the sun setting over the Rocky Mountains from my back patio! It's not as great as it sounds, I make it sound like I live on a 500 acre plot of land with a picture perfect view of the mountains, it's a subdivision with a small view (until I burn all the neighbors houses down on accident....) of the mountains. Still great though! Thank you for sharing a great video, as always!
Nice to see you both back together again! What a fun VS video… definitely proves that a person would be happy with either surface and I love that. You should do pancakes too! Looking forward to seeing the smash burger smash down!! Have a great week! Griddle On!
I think this video should be more apt named...Bret v Adam...griddle grudge match...this time its personal (said in a booming monster truck announcer voice)...LOL...just thinking that the non-stick in probably better with eggs...great comparison as usual...another banger!!!
Also I wanted to say currently it is 24 degrees and snowing yesterday and today. Tha roads are all ice. Florida looks better and better the older I get... THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.....
Awesome cook guys! I’m a Blackstone guy, but definitely will try a Pitt Boss someday I’m sure. Thanks for sharing and the food looked amazing! Cheers and Griddle On!
Just got a 36" Blackstone a couple months ago. Looking at the Ceramic Pit Boss griddle it worked pretty good. Just started griddling and enjoying it . Good thing that the food on both of them tasted the same. Can't wait for your other comparison on both griddles. Plus you guys had a great breakfast after cooking it. Enjoy your videos.
Out of everything I do on the griddle, breakfast is always my favorite! Both look excellent, let's see a NYC feast style sausage & pepper sandwich for a comparison!
I’ve had the Deluxe for a couple years and the Sierra for about a year. The Sierra is my “go to” breakfast griddle for ease of use and how great that non stick surface is for eggs, pancakes, crepes etc… The deluxe is my “go to” for dinner. More room and a bit better for smash burgers. That being said, they are both amazing griddles and the cooks always come out great. Thank you for the fantastic videos and outstanding cookbook. Keep up the great work and griddle on!
Yes!! That’s what we have found, they are both incredible, and serve a variety of purposes, each with its own strengths. You could definitely use either for everything, but it’s nice to have options! Take care fam, GRIDDLE ON INDEED!🔥🔥
I love my Sierra Griddle, I can now make my World Famous Pancakes, Eggs and Bacon when my daughter has sleep overs. It has cut my cook time down massively. I also make burgers on them as well, have not made a recipe from your cook book yet but will do some day. Come to AZ and you can cook on my Sierra and Austin XL.
I still love both. Thankfully, I have an understanding wife. I have 3 BSs and the Sierra. They are tools. Each has its purpose. The 17” with side burner goes in the RV. The 22” BS is for small meals, just the two of us. The 36” BS is for crowds. I can get away with less oil on the Sierra, and I like that easy cleanup when I’m using teriyaki sauce, so I use the Sierra for that. But smash burgers? Cold rolled steel (or cast iron) is the tool of choice for me, every time. Eggs? Sierra. Pancakes? Cold rolled steel (well seasoned). Hash browns? I’d probably stick with steel, but kind of a toss up, unless you are focused on keeping oil to a minimum. Yup! They’re tools, and you use the tool to match the job. Glad Pit Boss sent you the new griddle and hope to see some more side to sides. I’ve been using the Sierra for 5 months, and I will say that if my wife wasn’t so understanding as to let me have whatever cooking tools I wanted, I would probably stick with steel, given what I know now and how I use the tool.
This… ALL of it!! We have a huge passion for all things griddle cooking, and we don’t care really which surface! That said, you nailed it, we’ve found some things cook better on each!! Much love fam, thank you for this one!!🤙🤙🙏🙏
Question for y’all. I took my blackstone top off to deep clean the base the other day. The base/stand has some decent rust because of humidity. But the underside of my cold roll was super rusted. The top is fine because of cooking, seasoning, and cleaning, but the bottom is rusted. Is this normal? Do I need to do anything for it?
Crispy Brinkley is the way to go. Another great video. Since Lowes never stocks the Ultimate 5 burner (or 4 burner for that matter,) I have to live vicariously though you all.
Definitely breakfast of champions!! That was a cool comparison video. Oh yeah I just cooked the sesame chicken from your cookbook and it was Dynamite 🧨
9:40 on this video. What scraper did you use on the ceramic? I need one of those. Scraping with the plastic spatula is more difficult because it flexes. Thanks for the video guys. Enjoy all of them.
Greetings, how is the ceramic surface a year later from a perspective of it being non-stick? I find myself needing to use a good amount of oil to prevent sticking and ive only used my Pit Boss Sierra 3 burner a handful of times.
Hey fellas amazing videos love them Your cleaning videos helped my brother in law to bring his griddle back to life Just a quick question Stainless steel or carbon steel which would you say would be a better option to purchase it’s going to be my first time buying a griddle I want to make the right purchase
Brethren! Love the comparison cook with bacon 🥓 and eggs 🍳. Looking forward to more. The #Waltwins breakfast food truck can highlight the many different cooks over the years. Griddle on!
Agreed! I don’t know that I’ve seen a review that considers “healthy” grilling. I love to grill a healthier version of food and for me the less oil needed, the better. It’s what makes me lean towards the Pit Boss.
STEEL always wins out for me ,but being old fashioned ( 68 ) years old I will buy a Teflon or what ever that is on the griddlewhen the new Beatles album comes out.. I'LL be waiting..... THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.....
I'm a little concerned about using the non-stck surface due to not knowing how durable it would be. Love my Deluxe Griddle as is for now. But you can order a ceramic top replacement for it if not mistaken.
You are correct!! I honestly feel that it will come down to a base unit with replacement griddle surfaces - one base for all, that will be epic! And for sure, I may see agony getting a ceramic top for this to see the difference on this Deluxe unit!
I’ve had the pit boss ultimate griddle since summer of 2022 as an upgrade to by blackstone. I loved it at first but now it’s becoming a pain. It’s non stick at first but now virtually everything sticks. I take great care of it and cleaning the dark spots that occur is becoming very cumbersome as it’s not as easy as described. I feel like I fell for the marketing hype. If Pit Boss would put out a stainless steel top to fit the ultimate I would snap that up in a heart beat.
Thank you for watching fam, it’s exactly like cooking on nonstick cookware - really isn’t a learning curve. That said, we love the steel top too! Something about that metal, am I right?!😂😂🔥🔥
man o man, sunny or over easy I like better on the cast iron griddle better, seems like it ends up more flavorful from the effect of the cast iron. but thats just my taste buds talking.
I was a big fan of ceramic. I think it cooks more healthier due to needing less oil and cleanup is superior. However the Steel is clearly going to last for much much longer with no need for replacement tops and it doesn't need to be babied at al. You can slam things on it, chop stuff up on it, use any metal utensil you can find from your other BBQ... its a more stress-free usage. For example, I can swap a cast iron pan from my BBQ to the a steel one and if my cast iron pan hits the griddle surface.. no big deal. on the ceramic, I'd be terrified to pick it up and reveal scratches.
Thank you so much for watching. It actually comes down to care. I’ve had my Sierra for a year, and it still looks and cooks like new. I beat up my 5-Burner, and it had issues with the surface, which PB replaced. But we love both surfaces.. we live all our griddle fam! 😁❤️🤙
i love my sierra because f u guys, question...how many grills, smokers etc do you have out there!! im jealous!! on my porch, PB 700FB, sierra griddle and pitboss series 3 smoker ....i want more LOL
Haha! Thank you so much Tony! This is Brett… I have the PB7V smoker, the Sierra and Ultimate 5-Burner griddles. Looking to get the new table top 3-Burner Griddle soon. Adam has four Griddles, three that we use, and three smokers, two that we use! We love it! Much love brother!!!😁❤️🤙
I'll buy the groceries , you want to cook on my Blackstone in 25 degrees? Garunteed no sweating!!! LOL!! I am a cast iron, rolled steel kinda guy, so I have to stay true to myself, and pass on the ceramic.
Fat is flavor, so I don't mind a little. Also, not having to use plastic tools on the steel is a plus for me. I've seen some of those ceramic tops degrade quite a bit but the steel will be good for a very long time. I'm still not sold on the ceramic as more than just a gimmick.
