- West Bengal to get new Airport in Purulia. As of now Kolkata is the Biggest airport in West Bengal and a Big Hub for east India and 6th busiest airport in India and on the other hand Bagdogra Airport is also expanding day by day, Where as Durgapur Andal Airport is also touching the level of being busy, Now state has planned for new airport in purulia.
it would be beneficial for cargo and passenger traffic both cause purulia is growing as industrial belt and locality and standard of living is also going high so the demand of new airport is natural.
on the other hand Purulia is a great tourism point for nature lovers so to grab the attention for more people across India and globe it's good plan.

কলকাতা বিমান বন্দর সম্প্রসারিত হচ্ছে,যাত্রী সম্ভাবনা আছে বলেই সেটা হচ্ছে। অপরদিকে বাঁকুড়া পুরুলিয়া সড়ক যোগাযোগ উন্নত হয়েছে।

পুরুলিয়াবাসীর জন্য একটা সুখবর দিলেন, সেজন্য অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ। পুরুলিয়ার হুল হুলির টাঁড়ে(ছড়রায়) বৃটিশ আমলে বিমান বন্দর ছিল ই কিন্তু দেশীয় কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার কেন এটি আজ পর্যন্ত ব্যবহার উপযোগী করে গড়ে তোলেনি বর্তমান ও ভূতপূর্ব এম পি ভালো বলতে পারবেন।কার অপদার্থতায় আজ পর্যন্ত বিমানবন্দর যায় নি?

It will not be a profitable airport. It has andal at 120 km east, Ranchi airport at 140 km west, Jamsedpur airport at 85 km south and Deogharh airport 200km Norht. All these airports are not having adequte no. of flights (except Ranchi).Overall the region lacks any big metro city and economic centers. I doubt the overall flight movement of this project.
But a new project in the state is always welcome.

ছড়রা এয়ারপোর্ট Geo - সার্ভে টেন্ডার ডাকা হয়েছে আর DPR বানানোর জন্য কোটেশন চাওয়া হচ্ছে RITES এর তরফ থেকে । তবে রানওয়ে কত বড় হবে সেটা ঠিক হয়নি। দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধ সময়ের পুরোনো এয়ারপোর্ট ১৭০০ মিটার ছিল। নতুন রানওয়ে ২১০০- ২৪০০ মিটার ভাবা হচ্ছে যাতে A320 neo মতো বিমান নামতে পারে ।

It will progress when some of the top notch states will find it expensive to set up industries , then they will shift to Bihar .

See I am not loving or hating any party. I am seeing various scopes of improvement which is happening here, although small scale. Msme are very high wrt UP, considering UP s population and area . It share is almost 60% of UP , which was below 50% 10 yrs back. Even kerala used to export more IT than us...!
WB is a true leader in socio-economic, agriculture, basic infra, civil rights and safety (ppl doing tmc vc bjp not included and no major terror attack or maoist.). We have good medico, good quality education, arts literature....... only industrialisation and top notch infra missing, which it is filling the gap slowly. THATS SAD, SLOWLY....I'm seeing many new policies had come regarding infra, since 2-3 yrs, late although, but yes. LoA for tajpur is awaiting, idk what central ministry is doing.
Buddhadeb wanted capitalism, but it was too late, state was almost bloody with terror, many big firms also couldnt operate. I remember he once tried to remove tana-rickshaw, but those won't help. Now we don't have those big social issues, and the infra construction is silently keeping pace with nations. You have to admit.

Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad mein airport expansion jaruri hai, woh sabhi jagah se Indian government ka jyada revenue ata hai. Revenue mein ghanta, Purulia mein airport banake phayda kya hai?
