I've watched your channel for a while and have really enjoyed it and learned a lot. If I could offer one slight constructive criticism (and I see this with other channels at times) - the levels of your speaking parts vs music parts. The music levels are softer and so when I'm listening to them at a proper volume when your voice comes back on it's extremely loud (for example when you were eq'ing the guitar part my meter was showing 71-74 db and then when your speaking part came back in you were 77-80. Maybe this is done purposefully but thought I'd throw it out there as it makes a much nicer experience to watch a video when not adjusting volumes. Keep up the great work.
My experience is that it's oftentimes the opposite. Matching the levels would be great. But I'd rather have a louder voice, as it's not as tough in the ears as a loud guitar. I can allow more time to lowering the volume on my headphones for speech than I would like for guitar's loud frequencies.
@@TheStudioRatsCool! So , given the vocal/vocal arangement is so integral to "modern" productions, it would be great for your viewers to get an insight as to how that influences your guitar and wider arrangement thinking!
Paul , I ḿ using studio one artist and I wonder where do get your drum grooves from? Sounds great. Midi or audio grooves. I am a guitar player but I 'm into recording more and more. Do you have any suggestions for drumgrooves to make a song based drumtrack ? Thnx Mike

I loved seeing how you’re using Studio One in the creative process. Hope you have more videos like this one to come. Cheers.
Beautiful sound and playing! Love it! Can't wait to see how this evolves and hear the finished product.
Awesome.
Great video Paul - really useful. I always like your tasteful playing too - thanks again.
Cheers John!
Clever workflow, calm explanation, classy.& tasty playing. Well done!

And yes, Studio One has several advantages, plus it's uncomparably stable.

Tasty playing Paul but do you not have at least a rough idea of the vocal melody in mind when you're roughing out the track?
Yes we’ve got the basic idea scratched out.

Where do you setup your drums in your room??? It appears to to be a small loft... THX
It’s a studio in my garden. I don’t record drums in this room. The drums are programmed.
@@TheStudioRats Thanks Pool
Good stuff Paul. Did you come out of the TAE with a left and right XLR to your interface?
Cheers cat. Yes I did
cool....sounds good. Do you use a virtual drummer or real drums?
Virtual drums for the pre production. Live drums when it gets recorded properly
@@TheStudioRats what do you use for the virtual drums?
Dodgie? Hummmm. I don’t understand.
