it happens whenever you pause buffer. Idk exactly what happens but i think mario's voice was supposed to be cut out (as mario sounds usually do when you pause and unpause) but mario's voice didn't cut out so the game speeds it up or slows it down to make the voice end quicker or something

maybe the pause sounds are at a different pitch as some of mario's voices which made the sound pitch change respectively, therefore affecting the pitch of mario's voice
sounds usually also get cut out when unpausing (like 'angry' mentioned) but i assume audio doesn't cut out until the second frame of pausing, therefore maybe making pause buffering cause this
at the end those are just assumptions so don't really believe those until we get real confirmation

What I wished you showed off more outside is how you can maintain the speed you get from the slopes by using triple jumps, This is even possible RTA and I've been able to do things like Jump off the main part, soar across the gap with the secret, then walljump off the castle.

I'm not a TASer myself (Though I'd LOVE to be), Pausing like that allows you two press A for a BLJ every in-game frame instead of every other frame. It's slower, as a full Pause is three frames, but it gains more speed in the end.

Actually, no you can't. Your not physically able to long jump backwards in the game because in 2017, people couldn't put the puzzle pieces together.
