Here is my theory. The attorney charged the client for her time to write those 56 pages while knowing that the law suite was deeply flawed and her client was not going to win. She took advantage of an angry client which, I think, is unethical.
Perhaps the opposing attorney felt threatened by this complaintant, her client so typed it up while he was sitting her in her office with his new shotgun and wrote it up cause she new it would get thrown out before it was started and just wanted to get this guy out of her hair before he went postal.
No, what happened is she filed this case but hoped that by screwing up the summons and statute of limitations, it would be thrown out and nobody would pay attention to the fact that she sucked up a client's money knowing full well that any service provided would be fraudulent.
If the info is correct, she has been a lawyer for over a dozen years, so not inexperienced in terms of time. She had her license suspended three years ago, and thus can't claim lack of notice that her actions are wrong.

If a new attorney did take it over, would they have any personal liability for the prior mistakes? I mean... I'm envisioning a situation where this attorney passes away or something, and a new one comes in, looks it over, and (presumably) immediately moves to dismiss it as unfounded. It's an aspect of legal ethics with which I'm not familiar: is an attorney ethically obligated to examine a case-in-progress before taking it over, or is one just obligated to behave ethically once they "own" it?
I'm not in Michigan, I'm not even in the USA, I'm not a lawyer, but somehow I stumbled onto the first episode of Crazy town, and I've been hooked ever since! lol! I think I now know more about Michigan law than the plaintiff and his legal team! (And no, I don't want the case!)
This is so much fun, I can't wait for future episodes! If I could know when it finally gets before a judge, I would consider driving from Washington to Michigan just to sit-in on this circus and watch first-hand the debacle this plaintiff's counsel is showing herself to be. Great job, Steve.
I'm following this fascinating series, Steve, and you're right, "It's getting crazier!". I hope the plaintiff's attorney is not able to abandon ship, and gets stuck on this Titanic as it comes to it's inevitable conclusion.
I'm excited to hear the ending of this story. Most interested to see how that complaint goes against that attorney since she obviously attempted to abuse the court, and didn't fact check her clients frivolous case.
Reminds of Rakofsky v Internet back in the day (2011ish?).... Quick question, Steve. I don't think you've talked about malpractice insurance yet. I assume you had to notify your carrier... What was their reaction? Do you anticipate your rates going up because of this?
Once again another rational and understandable summation of the situation. Enjoying this, can't wait to hear what becomes of the complainants and their lawyer.

This series is way better than anything Earl Stanley Gardner ever wrote.
You laugh like the immortal in highlander. I love your videos. Are you from Scotland?
This is so much fun, I can't wait for future episodes! If I could know when it finally gets before a judge, I would consider driving from Washington
to Michigan just to sit-in on this circus and watch first-hand the debacle this plaintiff's counsel is showing herself to be. Great job, Steve.
Certainly an interesting case. I think I already know the outcome :)
I'm following this fascinating series, Steve, and you're right, "It's getting crazier!". I hope the plaintiff's attorney is not able to abandon ship, and gets stuck on this Titanic as it comes to it's inevitable conclusion.
When you "grieve" her, will you be able to recover your legal fees..Potentially?
Why do I get the feeling she gonna be broke......
@@youtubefan4293 Yup, this is gonna be an expensive one.
Probably would have to sue her back.
Orlen Brown she may already be broke, hence taking such a silly risk.
Hopefully both the attorney and their client get sued to a bitter end so that they forget this stupid stuff.
I'm excited to hear the ending of this story. Most interested to see how that complaint goes against that attorney since she obviously attempted to abuse the court, and didn't fact check her clients frivolous case.
Sounds like Steve is sending the other attorney to a lesson at the Steve Lehto school of law.
Wish I could have been there to see the judges reaction!
Especially since she is the Judge that allowed the re-file.
This one case is good for the attorney business.
He gets an atty discount.
Reminds of Rakofsky v Internet back in the day (2011ish?).... Quick question, Steve. I don't think you've talked about malpractice insurance yet. I assume you had to notify your carrier... What was their reaction? Do you anticipate your rates going up because of this?
What a freakin circus 🎪
...not surprised. The circus started at the top of the hill, in DC and has now rolled into our local towns =(
Once again another rational and understandable summation of the situation. Enjoying this, can't wait to hear what becomes of the complainants and their lawyer.
"Bailiff Bamboozle" still makes me laugh.
I was so excited when I opened the app and saw episode 3!
Squirming like a toad, Crazy Town...
She's got some "splainin" to do.
