She has the look and flight characteristics of a nice thermal ship but she certainly is 100% at home in a good stiff breeze blowing over a steep cliff! Thanks for sharing!
I wonder what would happen if you took the same fuselage and tapered the wings and tail-feathers to resemble the DH.88 Comet.style, but leaving the wing dihedral the same as this bird.
@@SlopeRCGliders There's a golf fairway right behind where you stand to fly , looks like a perfect landing area, but some random rough air in there, you have to commit! Thanks again for your videos !
The tailplane tip looks to be slightly higher on the starboard side than the port side is there a reason for this? I theory in neural trim without radio control it would tend to circle? I think your videos are a delight you make your gliders into an art form.
Thank you. The tail is not meant to be out of alignment. Sometimes the models will warp slightly in storage. A quick heat down with the iron normally sorts it out.
@@SlopeRCGliders thanks for the reply, I am 80 now and in my teens built about 30 model aeroplanes and then moved over to model boats but still return to balsa chuck gliders which I constantly trim to get a better flight the grand children seem to like flying them. Do you think the West Wings Lancer would be a suitable subject to have a go at radio control gliding I have a Spektrum DX6i system
How and where do you find such ideal flying conditions day in and day out ... Your flights re a joy to watch but like most of us I really don't understand your consistently good flying conditions.
I’m lucky that I’m retired, and that the slope is just a a short walk from my house, so I can go out flying whenever the weather is good. But on a nice day I quite often take a few gliders to fly so I can make several videos at once. Then I just space out the uploads.
Great video again John, the wife is a brilliant photographer you guys make a wonderful team, Awesome !! BTW is that kit still available ? It's beautiful. Thanks
@@ehandford they were nice kits. The Orion was my first RC plane. I guess the market wanted something different. Although Lazer cut kits have become popular now.
@@Atari-stfm the orion was my first too!! i remember the fuselage sides being ply and really hard to get to curve around the formers on the nose, they then released the orion e , which had balsa fuse sides which was a much nicer build
@@ehandford the later Orion non E had balsa fuselage pieces as well. To be honest I preferred the light ply because it was tough. I think they increased the size of the rudder too.
Beautiful flyer looking much like the Gentle Lady. Thanks a lot fot the entertainment.Cheers!
All the dogs I encounter think they are chasing a frisbee, one guy even thanked me for giving his dog the best run its had for ages

Beautiful flying!! Makes the magnificent frigates become jealous!!
A very clean design, pleasing to look at in that silver and blue. 😎👍
Looked like a very fun flight! The bird looked right at home at the dunes an has some nice lines. Thanks foir share!
Wow, another great looking and great flying plane. Thanks for the vid!
Very beautiful glider! Thank you for sharing.
You are always The Best !😊👍❤️️
Thank you!
Voar na praia é muito bom, sempre que tenho oportunidade aqui na minha cidade eu voo na beira da praia. Rio de Janeiro Brasil.
lovely plane, but love the pup!
Omg. It's an amazing bird. Good video buddy. Thank you

Naprosto úžasné 👌
Bravo Johan! 🇸🇮❤️❤️❤️👍🍻
Very nice and sleek and right at home in the sea breeze almost like a hawk swooping in for the kill as you bring it in low and close to the ground. 👍
Your puppy wants to fly
fantastic video as always john
Thank you.
Beautiful as usual, been enjoying a similar slope & outlook in southern Australia of late , landings can be a bit " exciting " though!
Thank you. The landings from this spot can be a be a bit turbulent. My normal slope is always nice and smooth.

The Lancer is a great plane but unfortunately it’s not produced as a kit anymore.

Sweet
Graet flying as always. I wonder how many gliders you have on your hangar :)
I have about 40 at the moment. I’m always building something new but quite often sell off the ones I don’t fly so much.
Beautiful model! You must buy cynoacrelate by the gallon!
I tend to build mostly with PVA.

Thank you! Unfortunately you can’t buy the kit anymore.
@@SlopeRCGliders Damn !! such a beautiful plane too . Thanks
Out of curiosity where was this?
Perranporth, Cornwall.
What happened to West wings?
i believe they stop trading, and then a couple years later got bought by the vintage model company, who still do some of their kits, but sadly not all
