The unplugging/replugging steps need to be done in the specific order. I mixed them up and it failed to turn on, reviewed the video again and tried again in the specific order mentioned and now have power again. Thanks!
Wow ... printer lasted a whooping 10 pages and 2 months before getting this error (bought it for urgent printouts, rather than going to a copyshop for 2 pages every once in a while). Also, is there a reason why a printer which has a power requirement of 700mA written on the outside ships with an internal brick rated at 430mA (glued shut of course so one can't take a peek at the very likely dodgey caps)? Really excited for your response.

Unbelievable Fix! I had unplugged the printer from the back and waited before plugging it back in...no help. By unplugging the block and outlet the printer power was restored. I have worked many years as a high-level electronics technician and did not think to do this since I did not know the block had a reset function of its own. Thank you HP. And thank you TH-cam.
very informative and helpful. the printer may not turn on if it is plugged into a surge battery . The strength may not be strong enough and in my case, needed to be plugged directly into a wall outlet... many thanks no need for me to call IT - feeling accomplished

Plugging the printer power cord directly into a wall outlet did the trick. Plugging it into its usual surge protector strip, didn't get it going. Thanks a lot.

I have a HP Envy 7155 we lost power with the last set of storms. Ever since then it won't complete its start set up. The screen is on. But its on the front loading screen and doesn't go through the process. How do I fix this
My hp deskjet 4729 printer can't turn on. The ac power adapter out put voltage should be +22v. Then I check the out put voltage by multimeter is 21.5. Is it the ac power adapter problem?
I unplugged and re-plugged several times and it worked temporarily (I had to do it again each time I wanted tu use the printer). Now it is completely dead. I also replaced the power module which did not seem to make a difference.
The power module for my HP Deskjet 3000 stopped working last month. It's the exact cord that came with the printer, so it has the corrects specifications. I need to replace the cord but the HP parts store says that the block piece is not available there. Only the two-pronged piece is available. The warranty expired in 2012, but the printer was working perfectly fine for years.

Sometimes its the power button itself that is the problem. My OfficeJet4500 printer has a rubbery power button that was not aligned properly to the power contact and caused so much power ON/OFF issue for me that I practically stop using it!

hp envy photo 6230, the last one of the shop, first set on, It stuck in loading screen with no interaction touching screen or with poer buttom. No change nothing plug and unplug. It is an forcing reset buttom or something??
Hi there, thanks for contacting HP Global Social Media Support! I understand that you are experiencing an issue with your printer as it is stuck on loading screen. I will do my best to assist you. Plug the printer into a working wall outlet, and then test the Power button on the printer. Make sure the power cord is connected to the rear of the printer and is plugged directly into a wall outlet. Press and release the Power button to start a Power On/Off cycle. Do not hold the button down. NOTE: If you press and hold the Power button too long, the printer might turn on and then off without restarting. If this happens, press and quickly release the Power button again. If the printer does not turn on, wait 10 seconds, and then press the Power button again. Regards, HP Support
That doesn't work, never worked, I had tried that before I start to search the problem No said again "unplug, wait and plug", neither "react to touching screen" or "react to power buttom" I have seen that answer everywhere and for everyprint Have to be another form for reset I hope
Thanks for the reply. Please try attaching the printer to a computer through a USB connection and launch hp smart and unplug/re-plug the USB connection, it will actually finish loading. Please let us know how it goes. Regards, HP Support

I have the opposite issue: how to shut off a wireless printer? Often I can't switch HP Envy 6422 Pro off from the back button. I have to disconnect the power cord from the near of the printer.
+Asly Tonio The power button is located on the back of the HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer. The power button is above where the power cord is plugged in.
@@HPSupport Obviously I know where is located the power button. I clearly mentioned it! The issue is the printer becomes stuck with its wireless led on but simply pressing that physical button does not switch it off. The only way to manage the issue is that hard reset, which is clearly not normal. Firmware is updated.
I've followed your protocol to the T, three times. No response from the printer. I even purchased a new battery for my HP 200 portable printer. It still makes no difference. I guess I should contact HP Service?

I made a mistake by purchasing HP officeJet 3830, out of all my electronic products, this is the ONLY printer device requires some magic to power on every time... In this video, this genius says it might be an issue with my power outlet but NOT ready to accept the issue with his product.
Really? Connect the power cord in three different locations? Why doesn't it reset itself when I press the power button for say 5 seconds like any other modern device? Also, luckily for HP, every time I have to reset a stuck hp 9020 by unplugging the power cord, it starts sucking in a huge amount of ink into its waste bin. Is this 'stuck' printer feature just a way for us to buy more "genuine" HP ink?

For the record, I bought my HP envy 4520 a number of years ago, and it's given me good service until now. I shut it down, now it won't power back up. I normally get good HP products. Frankly I can't fault the printer much, after lasting this long in a rather harsh environment (for electronics) It's done me well enough I want the exact same thing again... yeah I have ink cartridges on hand and don't want them to go bad... they're not cheap even tho I buy refurb ones.

+Chuck Armstrong Please refer to the instructions mentioned under this document to fix the issue: bit.ly/3qc8khL
+Ramonita Ramirez You can purchase the part from here: partsurfer.hp.com/ Please select your country and enter serial or product number of your unit.
The Power Module or Cord may be defective

Regards,
HP Support
That doesn't work, never worked, I had tried that before I start to search the problem
No said again "unplug, wait and plug", neither "react to touching screen" or "react to power buttom"
I have seen that answer everywhere and for everyprint
Have to be another form for reset
I hope
Thanks for the reply.
Please try attaching the printer to a computer through a USB connection and launch hp smart and unplug/re-plug the USB connection, it will actually finish loading.
Please let us know how it goes.

HP Support

It worked, thanks
+CW Kim I am glad to know that the video has helped you fix the issue.

8600 officejet pro, power button lights and I get no response. I replaced the internal power supply and the cord. The power button only lights but does nothing else. Followed all the steps in the usual hp support responses. Think it gonna have to be replaced with something other than an hp product. I'll never buy another hp anything.
