I'm always a little bit sad when these videos end. For me the videos are so relaxing and interesting at the same time, that the end always comes all of a sudden.
Hi, can I please ask what is the name of the plant, that is used? and I happy to see that there are still traditional skills in Japan. I think traditional skills should be a treasure for every country and something not to forget.
The plants used to make the paper are called kozo (paper mulberry). The sticky liquid is called neri made from tororo-aoi (the root of a species of hibiscus).
If you've never made paper before you should try it out. I haven't made my own paper in years. It's not too difficult. You can even turn old blue jeans into paper.
このチャンネルみていると、日本ってすばらしいと思います。
This video was so relaxing to watch, but the train shot was GLORIOUS! I brought back the same fwelings of magic Studio Ghibli gave me as a teen. ❤

Beautiful and relaxing. I love this channel! It makes me want to do a tour of Japanese handicrafts.
As a papermaker who pulls kozo in a western mold vs sugeta, this was super cool to see!
すばらしい技です。見入ってしまいました
Looks like a great texture to paint on. By the way what a wonderful place.

A small train by the bay is sentimental.
Does anyone know what these plants are called? And how the sticky liquid is made or extracted?
