Idk if you're still using this machine, but I picked it up at Walmart on clearance for $33.50. my capresso ec50 was messing up on me so I couldn't pass this deal. I managed to figure out a trick I didn't see in the manual... Turn it on and let it heat up. Once the power button is solid, hold the double shot button until it starts flashing (I haven't tried the single button yet), make sure you have a large cup, I use a 2 cup glass measuring cup. Once you press the double shot button again, it will run about 9-10 oz thru the portafilter, leaving a nice Americano.
Quick Tip: If you wanna froth better milk with it make sure to remove the outer nozel on the wand. I was actually able to do some latte art with it once i find out you take it off. Great machie! Definitely bang for your buck forsure.
My grandpa bought one and he’s so excited but he doesn’t know how to use it and I’m stuck being the one to learn and then teach my grandparents how to use it. This is pretty helpful thank you so much!
My brother got me one for Christmas and I was so excited to use it in my new apartment, but I was very frustrated trying to figure out how to use it. This video helped out so much!!
Ah thank you! I bought thos bc my other latte machine stopped working. I could NOT make sense of the priming and operation directions. This and your priming video helped me perfectly! I appreciate you!
This was super helpful! Steaming the milk was super tricky, so thanks for talking about that in detail. I will try again tomorrow with all of your helpful hints!
BUSTELO is med roast , it’s great for drinking plain without cream..no bitterness… and it’s used for Cuban espresso…. I use Lavassa which is dark roast when making lattes….👍
I was happy to find your videos, I just bought this machine and I can't decide if I like it, it seems to make my expresso to strong and bitter and the lock is awful I have to fight with it. I had the chefman espresso machine and love it, the espresso is not bitter, but it seems to stop working in just a couple months. I hate bitter espresso also, try illy coffee it has a great taste!
This was great machine but unfortunately doesn’t last, bought one In February and just took it back. One day I noticed the espresso was not as hot as usual, next day machine was totally dead. Not in stock any more at my Walmart so I got my money back and got a Delonghi machine. I really did enjoy the Farberware while it lasted - if they can up the long term quality might have something here. Love the reviews and info here regardless.
If you are getting spilled coffee. You're not doing it right. With my first time using this espresso machine & not reading instructions, I didn't have any spill/waisted coffee.
This is a great video! My husband gifted me one for Christmas. I’m just a bit confused though, it says on the manual to remove the frothing nozzle cover before steaming the milk. I’m scared to try so i followed what you did here. When I removed the cover, the milk residue on the nozzle was hard to remove. Does it matter if I remove the cover or not? Thanks!
I am not sure why they say to remove the nozzle cover. the metal piece around the end of the steam tube is suppose to be there when you steam milk. the best way to keep it clean is right after you steam you milk is wipe if off with a wet towel.
@@JustADad thank you so much for clarifying. I can't wait to try a finer coffee ground next time. I'm still using the starbucks espresso roast that I just bought. I wasn't expecting to get an espresso machine 🥰
Also when I make an espresso I have a lot of liquid on top of the grounds when I remove the portafilter after the coffee is complete. What am I doing wrong?
I also noticed that you did not remove the cover on the steamer when you used it. The directions do say to remove the cover before using on page 13 on the bottom.
hi!! i was wondering if you could pull a shot of water and take the temperature of it? i just got one of these less than a month ago but i notice that my shots are coming out at around 145°, but i read that a shot of espresso should be pulled at around 190°?
Thanks! I was going to buy the DeLonghi 260 for a smaller footprint…but until I saw this..I’m sold. I’m surprised this is rated at 20 bars! I have a nespresso Vertuo plus but need a another to avoid using the expensive pods as well…

I called the company (walmart) and they said I could try to speak with the local manager and return it but I would rather solve the issue without returning it 😢

Did you remove the little red tab under the water tank? Try that, or make sure you’re lining up the back of water tank to fit over grooves on back of machine to slide on and fit down into place.
As a barista this video made me cringe a lot, however it really helped me understand how to use the machine. What made me cringe was the fact that he was getting espresso grounds everywhere, you don't have to do that in order to tamp your grounds. Do not over fill your grounds or the filter Holder will not fit properly when you try to rotate it and lock it in place. The other thing that made me cringe was the fact that he said his shots were extremely bitter that's because he let them die. You have to drink them, put them in milk, or syrup within 10 seconds of creating them, otherwise you get very bitter shots aka they die. I really do appreciate him creating the Prime video as well as this one, as it was very educational.
Thanks for watching and sharing what your knowledge with others. it has helped me and it will help others. I need to work on filling the porta filter, it is a weak point of mine for sure. It seems like I needed to get more espresso in there to make a better shot. I love these machines, they let us kind of feel like a barista at home, I hear people all the time say if the shot is made correctly then you will be able to just drink it straight. I have never been able to drink a shot of espresso straight, I always have to put it with milk. Thanks so much for the great information and helping me with my future videos!!!
Theres no such thing as letting an espresso shot "die" if you make a correct espresso. you think coffee shops serve your espresso within 10 seconds of making it? it takes longer than 10 seconds to froth the milk for a latte or cappuccino. Being a barista at starbucks doesnt make you a real barista.
I also work at Starbucks and the “shots die in 10 seconds” thing is a lie they tell us so we’ll get drinks out faster 😅 That’s not a thing at any other coffee shop
The shots are a dead shot and it not pouring out a good flow of espresso and what I’m saying is that the espresso machine should have a slow pour and not a fast pour because a fast pour makes it come out a dead shot

i just got this machine and the port a filter wont lock when the double or single shot cups are in. it locks when its empty though. i dont want to force it because im nervous it will break. did you have this issue/advice?
You do have to use some force. I have to hold the machine with one hand and use the other to turn the portafilter. it is kind of hard.
Jessica it's because you've overfilled the grounds you cannot put too much grounds and tamp it. You have to do it to the max line.
