The effect extender of course is the best, but Its not the only one that is useful. I personally also like using fast charge and effect +1 they are really fun to use aswell.
Another helpful video, as usual. I don't know if it would be something enough people would wanna see but I'd love to see a video on the various bombs (barrel, bounce, flash, sonic, etc.) covering how/when to use them and other things of that nature. I have the most trouble with a bounce bomb actually hitting anything and normal barrel ones I usually try to throw a rock at it (I'm pretty terrible with the ranged weapons) but I'm not even sure if that works. Flash bombs seem to sometimes work for me but I'm guessing there are particular times they work and the only thing I could get a sonic bomb to work on was a Ketcha Watcha.
Really thanks for the video.. I want to play mh series for a long time, in fact mh4u was my first 3ds games but it was difficult to get into it since i was play it alone.. but your channel is awesome.. thankss dude..
you all probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Lionel Walter I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hey dude, loving videos as usual! Could you maybe make a guard point charge blade tutorial? Really been needing one of those! However if you feel it isn't a big enough topic to do it on, maybe a video on guarding in the game as a whole? stuff like how it affects sharpness and all that! :)
Hey Arekkz I'm going to restart on Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate because my original 3DS broke and so when I can I'll buy a new one and restart with my little brother and why am I doing it with my brother? Well because I feel like he's left out of stuff I do so yeah I'll buy one for him too and so thank you for these videos cause I'll forget most of the stuff I used to know! P.S my favorite monster is the Zammie (boss not minions I can't spell it)
Oh my god. You are the best cuz im new and im using the insect glaive from the beginning. And getting the items to level it up are a pain in the ass cuz i havent gotten to the third island, or caravan location
Hey ***** just started on mh4u and your tutorials have been a great help for me as well! :) Keep up with the videos! I mainly use the IG or LS for quests so this particular video is good for me. Though I'm thinking of using CB as well. Anyway thank you again and keep up the good work! :)
I been playing mh4u for a while an my fave weapon is the insect glaive i like the vid an it really helps but how can i make a cool armor set to go with it
I'm G2 and I want to pick up the insect glaive, but I don't want to have to take a long time working for the ultimate kinsect. Plus I don't really want to use it all the time. Is full speed still not completely bad for the rest of G rank?
Hey! Ive decided to stick with the insect glaive but i do t know how to get better staffs. I only have the bone rod and i dont know how to get new, colourful and powerful staffs. If you tell me i'd really appreciate it. Thanks
Are cutting glaives better than blunt glaives? I've been going through the MH wiki and Kiranico and determining which glaives I want to build and use on my way through the game, and I've mostly been choosing based on stats and ignoring the type of glaive (cutting or blunt). Would you recommend having one of each for different circumstances, or is one type just better? Also do you find that raw damage is more important than elemental damage for the most part on a glaive? Or vice versa? It appears to be a very quick weapon in regards to how many hits you can land in a certain amount of time. Does this put it in the same group as weapons like SnS and Dual Blades, where higher elemental damage is more important because you can apply it faster? I appreciate your hard work and information in this video; it's helped me get a grasp on how to upgrade for the most part. I'm still pretty shaky on the actual combos of the weapon, but I'm sure that will come with time. Thanks again!
+kellogsbeast I'm not sure which one would be more useful, but since the cutting/blunt thing only applies to the kinsect and not the actual weapon, I don't think it makes a huge difference either way.
Dequan Milete Oh! I was under the impression that the damage type of the glaive itself was what changed. Cutting a tail with a bug seems.. frustrating at best. So what type of damage to glaives do then?
All glaives do cutting damage. Once in a blue moon though, I actually do end up cutting off the tail with the bug instead of the glaive. It's pretty funny whenever that happens.
Dude, I need your help upgrading the Sand fauchard (Tiger Zamtrios) rare 8 glaive using G rank ++ nectars. Please use that glaive in your next video if you haven't made a video already.
Cam Thompson For rusted weapons, you will be able to polish them after you defeat the Tetsucabra in the second area. There will be a man at the bottom part of the village to polish it for you.
you can find abrasive when mining in expeditions. usually need 3 abrasive to clean rusted gear. ask the blacksmith next to the chief in hearth the mining hub area to clean it for you.
Jonathan Cormier no. technically they are the same thing. when you talk to the guy and press a on polish a relic your rusted weapons are listed for cleaning
i need help!! i have all the stuff i need to upgrade it! but my speed is 72 n i need it to be 78 but it wont eat more speed... how can i get the speed to 78?
When I cover how to make the Ultimate Kinsect I will, but this tutorial was for the people that were asking for an explanation of the basic upgrade mechanic for the Insect Glaive.
Gotcha. Very good. the higher Tier Upgrading i have to say is for people in G+ i personally started with the 114 method right off the bat and kinda wish i got more speed than power. but in the end i don't have to make another glaive
Brainless Gaming He clearly mentioned that this was a basic setup and that he'd form the "ultimate" kinsect build in a later video like 3-4 times... Try listening for a change. ^_^b
Swell. For some (like me, and most other IG users) that's just not our cup of tea, if not impossible. But kudos man, gotta give you props for prospering there.
Here are some tips for using slow kinsects. 1. Slow insects ,expecially impact ones, are best for charge spamming monsters 2. They mostly have little stamina so you have to either be next to a monster or if its charging you have a very well thought out escape after you have released the kinsect. 3. If you do use a slow kinsect it best to have a high powered impact bug and have experience and knowledge of the attacks of the monster your fighting to know how to effectivelly avoid monster attacks after sending out insect (though half of the last part applys to all glaive users due to the slight delay of sending out the but
it's not about making the game beautiful bruh. MH was always about being a game of skill and action, with graphics just behind replayability and gameplay. if you really want a monster-hunter knockoff for the sony plats, go play freedom wars or something.
Roan Eve The best monster hunter game is the online MMO PC version only available in japan. It's visually beautiful and just as hard as any other Monster Hunter game. Monster hunter is not tied to poor dated graphics, its tied to Nintendo which unfortunately is far from next gen. If you can't see the potential thats locked away by the game being Nintendo Exclusive in the west then you're more than a little blind.
you're missing the point. it wasn't about Nintendo limiting the potential of the game, nor was it about the game being "next-gen". honestly, if you believe a game must have HD graphics and textures that are one par with Crysis2, then by all means go ahead. Capcom knows how to make games better than either one of us anyway, and they seem to know how to make the franchise thrive anyway. Graphics? Who cares about graphics if the the game isn't even accessible to everyone? You already pointed it out yourself: the "best" MH game is the one in Japan only, and it's an MMO. I'm in no position to say whether or not MH itself should transition into an MMO, but I think the recent installment itself is a more massive success than the MMO itself, simply because it reached more than just the Japanese audience it originally aimed for. Feel free to throw another bolt in this debate. Nobody's going to win anyway, as we all know in the end, Capcom calls the shots here.
Faux King I'm gonna stay out of this "next gen" bullshit, but have you even SEEN Frontier G (the MMO)? Visually, the game looks just as bad, if not worse than 4U. The textures are about the same quality as 4U, but the models... saying they are PS2-esque would be a compliment. The only thing it has over 4U is the resolution. Also they dumbed down the gameplay a bit and made it more like a generic hack-and-slash instead of using the slow and methodical gameplay that the series is known for.
Ryan Higa exactly , its why they are the best bugs. they make you keep your dps for longer. of course there is also the impact bug with the high status glaives that can knockout monsters but that's more of a gimmick
Thank you so much for this, been reading guides everywhere online but it just wasn't clicking until I saw an actual video
You really do make the best MH content imo. Without your style and format, I'd be way less explorative with my playstyles. Thank you so much.
The effect extender of course is the best, but Its not the only one that is useful. I personally also like using fast charge and effect +1 they are really fun to use aswell.
i usually like to upgrade my kinsect with elements just to change the coulor for a little flare
+Joe Da Whale Demon lol nice
it just makes them feel more like an ally you know
Another helpful video, as usual. I don't know if it would be something enough people would wanna see but I'd love to see a video on the various bombs (barrel, bounce, flash, sonic, etc.) covering how/when to use them and other things of that nature. Flash bombs seem to sometimes work for me but I'm guessing there are particular times they work and the only thing I could get a sonic bomb to work on was a Ketcha Watcha.
Naterkix You can use small bombs or simply hit them to set off the larger bombs. The bombs do far less damage to you then they do to the monster.
Really thanks for the video.. I want to play mh series for a long time, in fact mh4u was my first 3ds games but it was difficult to get into it since i was play it alone.. but your channel is awesome.. thankss dude..
Awesome video. I was completely clueless about these things until I watched your video.
Sooo... are you basically saying that SPEED IS KEY?
+peppypowerful Gotta go fast, bruh.
you all probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account??
I was stupid forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Gael Lucas Instablaster ;)
@Lionel Walter I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Lionel Walter It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out :D
Great video as usual! I'm using the Insect Glaive myself and this vid helped a lot! Thank you!

Hey man - I actually covered some of the main Guard Points in my Advanced CB tutorial :) th-cam.com/video/GwQJryDuQ9I/w-d-xo.html
***** Ahh right I see! Cool cool, thanks!
Why the clockwork one can't be upgraded?
Professor Ze Unfortunately it's only as High Rank DLC weapon, some of the DLC items can't be taken into G Rank :(
Well that suck really loved the design on this one.

Right now mine is a bone staff and I'm like stuck so this video is helping :)
Really good guide helped a lot. Thank you!
Excited for the Ultimate Kinsect guide using the Speed First Upgrade ***** any news on when will you release the video?
Oh my god. You are the best cuz im new and im using the insect glaive from the beginning. And getting the items to level it up are a pain in the ass cuz i havent gotten to the third island, or caravan location

tbh I already spam the kinsect at melee range...ok ima go pick up a copy of 4u now
Dude, I need your help upgrading the Sand fauchard (Tiger Zamtrios) rare 8 glaive using G rank ++ nectars. Please use that glaive in your next video if you haven't made a video already.
at what point in the game i can buy weapons ? i am currently at caravan 7 stars quests
Which necters are used after reaching lvl 10 and is it possible to achieve the ultimate glaive via this method?
Can you do a vid on armour?
Hey can you make a guide on farming for nectars?
Great could you do a video on rusted weapons and how to make them useable
Cam Thompson For rusted weapons, you will be able to polish them after you defeat the Tetsucabra in the second area. There will be a man at the bottom part of the village to polish it for you.
you can find abrasive when mining in expeditions. usually need 3 abrasive to clean rusted gear. ask the blacksmith next to the chief in hearth the mining hub area to clean it for you.
Enigma Extreme Aren't relics and rusted weapons separate things?
Jonathan Cormier no. technically they are the same thing. when you talk to the guy and press a on polish a relic your rusted weapons are listed for cleaning
Ahh maybe I'm mixing stuff up with MH3U
Btw i need some tips on beating the monster you fight after you beat the testucabra
What do you think is the best insect glaive
Crimson fatalis, chameleos, kushala daora, brachydios are the best glaives
Thanks 👍
O_O can anyone tell me when all those other glaives unlock? Right now I only have the bone staff, stealth glaive and the gore magala one
I got 2 more at early hr
i need help!! i have all the stuff i need to upgrade it! but my speed is 72 n i need it to be 78 but it wont eat more speed... how can i get the speed to 78?
does generations kinsect upgrade work in the same manner?
So when can you buy the Neve rod?
Is It now that I notice the toggle display :(
so at what level glaive do we stop putting speed? what nectar goes next?
I currently have a Le Tranquer (Gore Magala) Grancathar Kinsect. Level 7 132 Speed. 72 Growth Pts.
When does the Power+ and Stamina+ come in?
i do hope you are going to show the 114 power 96 Stam 150 speed Method.
if not then this tut will not be very good.
When I cover how to make the Ultimate Kinsect I will, but this tutorial was for the people that were asking for an explanation of the basic upgrade mechanic for the Insect Glaive.

Is that a low or high rank zinogre set ?
It's G Rank :)

my kinsect is so unbalanced, I used to give it random nectars but now I know better

Rainbow Devil you can get them from the Frozen Seaway in the first area by the entrance of the second area where you fight Zammie (boss)
Still pissed with Capcom for making monster hunter Nintendo exclusive. This game could be so much more beautiful

Gah, your equipment box is not OCD friendly. also bibborox/ladytower best bugs.
that's the Kinsect to use to get the effect extender lmao

Good argument.
Yeah, way to back up a point.
