    I had a lot of people requesting if I could provide a noise test.
    I made a quick short, showcasing if the card gets noisy under load.

    For the record, I briefly tested both the X version and regular version of this card (I bought the X, my friend bought the regular). The X version comes with higher clocks out of the box, but outside of that, there is no difference whatsoever. And the higher clocks don't make for any noticeable difference in game at all. Save yourself 50 bucks and go with the regular version if it's available.

      Good on you for sharing that. Generally outside of benchmarking, customs cards and FEs are all the same within a few % of each other.
      I found that out for myself between my 2080ti black and the 2080ti kingpin. +$700 for literally 0 gains in game. Though large gains whilst benchmarking

    • @GuruKiwi
      @GuruKiwi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have got myself the Inno3D version. clocks at 2850 at 100% power limit. Temps are similar. Power consumption around 400-410 Watt in Timespy Extreme with peak ~450 Watt. It seems that around this time, compared to previous generation, the cards are all close to each other.

    • @melodywolff6346
      @melodywolff6346 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That makes sense considering that the boost is only 3% higher, and with Ada it seems some clock speeds are tied directly to the voltage, not the core clock anyways. So in reality the difference is probably even less than 3%.

    • @MickeyMolad
      @MickeyMolad 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The cheaper model is just to satisfy the Nvidia requirement that every partner have a model at the starting MSRP. For every base model they produce, they will make 10 more of the X model for an extra $50 margin.

    • @OscyJack-
      @OscyJack- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MickeyMolad for sure but with no practical benefit in gaming. Marginal gains in compute performance. And marginal gains in benchmarking.
      The worst binned 4090 can still max out 99% of monitors. Which is great to see.
      20fps gains are much more negligible in the 200hz range, than they are at 100hz range.
      For me, I play on 3440x1440. I went with the base model, because every game is likely to have it's .1% lows above my monitors max hz of 175. For cases like these, power consumption aside, there is no point to spending more than FE prices unless you are going for aesthetics or temps.

    Great review. My Gaming X Trio is on the way, should be here on Monday, so looking forward to it and pairing it with my LG 48" OLED! Thanks again!
    As far as costs go, it's absolutely ridiculous, and I certainly felt remorse at sinking so much money into a single piece of hardware. However, this is the first time in my life I have ever bought a flagship GPU, the previous highest tier GPU I got was a 1080Ti and that lasted almost 4 years before I upgraded to my current 3080 which is almost 2 years old now. With the giant leap in performance, and the current direction of worldwide economies, I can only see things getting more expensive in the short to medium term, so I pulled the trigger. My thinking is it will last me at least 4 years, so over that amount of time, it really does level out the cost of investment. As DLSS and other super sampling features become prevalent, it should draw out the life of such a powerful GPU than previous generations. The only thing I'm concerned at now is my 8 year old 860w PSU and potential bottlenecking with my 5600X.

    Looking at your noise video it looks like your case is on its side, and I'm guessing that's a temporary thing? Did you use the supplied support bracket? Mine didn't come with any screws or instructions, just a couple extra tiny pads, so it's not very clear how you're meant to install it. And it's unlikely it would fit many cases. My GPU retention clip came out of the socket when I had to remove the card to access the only available SATA ports, inconveniently positioned under the GPU! Luckily all seems to be ok but I might have to leave my case on its side from now on. So I'm curious to know if you (or anyone else) fitted the bracket and how it went.

You can get one now for sub-$600.00 and in these selected titles that were tested the RX 6800 XT did very well matching very close to the RTX 3080 and in some cases the RTX 3090.
