Some background on my front yard's beavers:
The #beavers are a controversial topic in my family. The majority of my family wants to remove the beavers from the pond, but a couple family members (me included) are getting in the way. Since the beavers moved in, there has been a surge in biodiversity. We now have all sorts of endangered frogs that live in the pond, giving each morning and evening a beautiful chorus. The beavers have 3 fully constructed #dams right now and are working on a fourth.
That being said, the beavers do cause frequent difficulties for us, like digging holes in the road and knocking trees down that we'd rather keep up. It's not uncommon to have a tree nearly fall on a building. However, with all the options weighed, evidently there is a great benefit to coexisting with these incredible rodents.
This pond area is jam packed with nature and we frequently have moose, black bears, owls, and more circling the pond! Also, there is a seemingly endless supply of mossy forest nearby this pond. The trees consist of lots of birch, poplar, spruce, pine, and willow trees. I love these Western Canadian woods!
