Movie intros, especially the Dreamworks intro makes me so nostalgic. The music and the sounds remind you of the good memories in your life, where things can be so simple but enjoyable. It reminds me of being around loved ones, family and friends; and everyone just sitting at home in peace and comfort knowing you were going to have a good night watching the movie.
As a child and to this day I have a greater preference for Dreamworks than for Disney, since I grew up watching The Prince of Egypt, Shrek, Spirit, The Road to El Dorado and Madagascar and its intro I loved it
It’s 2007, it’s a Saturday evening and your parents are out for the night. Your older sibling is with you and asks if you wanna watch a movie. You say yes and suggest putting on Shrek. They agree to watch it with you. You make some popcorn in the microwave, put it in a bowl and take it in front of the tv where your sibling is waiting. They put the DVD in and this plays, you feel happy and safe. Everything is good.
Imagine you’re camping outside with some friends and/or family, looking up at the sky and seeing a silhouette lounging on the moon while you hear this music. Then, filling the entire sky for the next 90 minutes, the entirety of Shrek filled every horizon as far as the eye could see for the whole hemisphere of the planet to watch. Then after the credits, dead silence, and this unexplainable phenomenon never happens again
This was my ringtone going back to the early 2000's. People just laughed at me when they heard it, but they never understood what Dreamworks Interactive was about.😊
Lyrics that go well with the song 🎵And all through the heat The moon wakes up its sleep And gets up up on its feet And rises above the night sky Like our determination and hard work Teamwork makes the Dreamworks And will rise above the night sky.🎵
In the first few seconds, I am transported back in time to 2004, where my parents would sleep on a summer night while leaving the TV on and myself surrounded by movie DVDs. I would occasionally put them in the DVD player on shuffle and would fall asleep once the movie started. Though, whenever I heard the DreamWorks suite come on, I'd always keep an eye open just to see the animation and music play out. Then I'd fall back to sleep. Talk about a memory unlocked lol
The first time I saw this specific Dream Works intro (which is amazing), was over 10 years ago with my friend who I'd only recently met! I always think of her when ever I see this at the start of a film.
That’s Dean Parks on acoustic nylon guitar. He played with everyone from Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder to Toni Braxton and tons more yet he’s one of the most unsung guitarists in the world.
They're doing construction work at my office right now and the circular saw that they are using keeps making the sound that's at the 0:10 second mark. Driving me insane because my brain keeps thinking a movie is about to start!!
If you grew up in the late 90s to early 2000s then you’ll understand how incredible this intro is
