@DillonMagreveous it's still the best arc linear in the game and also the only arc aggressive linear at the moment, Briars and Doom are better tho, they have better perks
What's the desired roll on Storm Chaser? I've got a few in my vault from grinding Duality. I'm not sure what to keep. @davidklostermanjr1902

@JonathanGarcia-nr9yj I agree to a point, but when you have to lfg every time you want to try for a raid weapon, then spend an hour or two not getting anywhere, the fun is gone
Doing the dungeon I can get up to 8 million damage with Malfeasance x Lucky Pants x Doomed Petitioner rotation. It's a beast.
What subclass? Have similar set up but don’t know what to use for subclass (using stasis for now).
@@Yuki.Gonzalez you can use solar. it gives you a damage buff with radiant and can help you survive with healing grenade.
@@Yuki.Gonzalez lucky pants works with any sub class...can get radiant on any subclass ...the most reliable for me is void though, infinite devour and invis plus tether...strand is a very close second

I got it crafted with reconstruct and precision instruments right away like second week of the season, most used heavy right now since it clears up an exotic slot for damage or ad clear
Rewind rounds on briars actually makes it better than doomed petitioner in surrounded settings as you can pump out more rounds than reconstruction…
No damage phase last that long. MAYBE oryx / deathsinger but for oryx just whisper. For deathsinger you won’t even dump all that ammo still.
@@Alckee6904I use it with enhanced rewind rounds for Ghosts of The Deep's final boss and I'm able to empty a full magazine during a DPS phase and still have some time to use Arbalest for 2/3 shots. It's definitely the best perk in slot and much more reliable than reconstruction for getting out more shots

@@nichol6038 Not disputing the fact that Doom is more accessible, wasn't the point of my reply. Besides, they are different elements so it's beneficial to have both regardless of which is easier to get. Briar's benefits from solar artifact mods this season for example.
Simmuah specifically is lucent hive which takes more damage from Briar's origin trait and has a damage phase long enough to make full use of rewind rounds. My response was to dispute the 1st reply's claim that "no damage phase lasts that long" and give an example use case of rewind rounds over reconstruction.
Regardless, my point is that rewind rounds is still the better 3rd column pick as it guarantees fewer reloads as long as you hit the target with a single shot from each burst. Reconstruction only guarantees less reloads if you wait long enough for the perk to overflow the mag which sometimes isn't an option.

i'm loving doomed petitioner so far
my current roll is || charge time MW - accelerated coils - envious assassin - precision instrument
i go for the charge time for faster burst rates, and i go for envious assassin for the fact you get more than enough ammo in the mag for a damage phase (sometimes even all 20 rounds), precision instrument is just a plus, i'm not skilled enough for using surrounded, so precision instrument is ideal as i'm just going to be perched somewhere holding the trigger and burning through my overflowed magazine, not worrying about reloading unless i didn't get enough kills before damage, or if the damage phase is extremely long.
I used reconstruction, precision instruments Doom Petitioner to get my first clear of Deepstone Crypt today! Decent rolled loot too, I got the Lmg with reconstruction, Rampage
I got a Briar’s Contempt from root of nightmares which is also a 3 round burst, it has rewind rounds and high impact reserves, I think this is a great combo

Thoughts on envious assassin? I know reconstruction is great but envious does have the higher ceiling
Now we really need a craftable strand LFR. Only have one strand LFR and it’s a gambit one that’s not craftable. It’s pretty good but we need a craftable one with better perks

Btw, you can overflow the whole magazine of briar's contempt if you reactivate envious assasin BEFORE reaching 250% mag size.
I got a recon/precision roll first day of the season. Cool gun
I had a chance to cook with the permeability roll with Icefall Mantle, and I hit nearly 100k per individual hit with surrounded. RIP to the dmg glitch, but it was SUPER fun while it lasted.
How's the numbers on this vs a crafted retro escapade with 4th's time and target lock (enhanced)?
This Linear helped me complete my first solo dungeon completion. It feels great and the sound it makes when firing is nice. Really amazing weapon overall 🔥
Rocket or linear fusion better?
@@namfingerstyle8403 I think it just goes off preference. It also depends on the rocket you use but this linear really helped put a lot of damage and has pretty good burst damage as well

I have 2 doomed petitioners crafted. One with arrowhead, ionized, enhanced envious and enhanced precision instrument. Might craft a 3rd with reconstruction since it's more consistent in master and above content but in normal raids and dungeons I've managed to stuff 18 rounds into the mag with envious.
My second one has arrowhead, particle, keep away and moving target. Throws people off in pvp because most expect a GL or rocket and never see a aggressive linear coming. It's a menace in gambit too since you can play close or far while consistently getting 1 burst kills
So do you have to land all three head shots for a one hit kill in PVP? I use the laser painter in PVP quite a bit, it's a blast. I assumed the burst linears wouldn't be as effective in pvp. Mine has a charge time masterwork and it is a blast to get headshots with that thing. It one hit kills any super with a headshot.
@@otisdriftwood7094 you can do either 3 bolts to the body or 1 bolt to the head. The trick is to aim at the torso so you either hit all the bolts to the body or the recoil climbs to the head.
Brias is amazing with rewind rounds + frenzy/focus fury.
DP was the first weapon I crafted this season, very good for dps!!
Would love to see a full ranking of all craftable weapons from all seasons, or even enhanced perk trait ranking, I have no clue what to use my orange golf balls on

I've been using it for a while and it is very nice. Smooth, can have a ton of ammo built up in the magazine, hits hard on precision damage.
First weapon I crafted this season.
Sure I crafted the god roll, BUT my destabilizing round/surrounded roll is also very fun
Since I already had the other Linears for PVE use, I actually crafted mine for PVP with Keep Away/Moving Target. Landing the burst as 3 bodyshots or a single headshot lands a kill with these frames.
Bro I did the same! If the map isn’t conducive to a grenade launcher for heavy, I always throw it on.
Man, I love lining up some guardians and getting a juicy 2 piece or 3 piece off a single burst. These frames are slept on in casual pvp, it's a shame heavy gls are so much more competitive or else they'd be just as good there too.
Thoughts on giving it volatile rounds with void hunter gyrfalcon build?

Doom Petitioner plus Epochal Integration pair great with conditional finality to get a third stack of harmonic resonance.
Do you mean briar’s contempt? This linear doesn’t have harmonic resonance.
And it is nasty with Gryfalcon's. The triple burst is super useful there.
If I'm killing adds like crazy, can i load all my reserves up with Envious Assassin?

I know no one talks about it but if you’re willing to sacrifice a little dps attrition orbs is better then I thought it would be, especially if you’re using a weapon like this for single target damage. After the damage phase, if you’re able to run up to the boss, there’s always extra orbs under them. I’m not saying this is secret meta but can help with getting supers back more reliably though under certain circumstances
Just kill ads or use a rapid fire fusion.
So why was storm chaser left out of the DPS comparison? It’s DPS output was on par with the Cataclysm prior to its nerfing. Plus the stormchaser had frenzy as perk, which made it very versatile for upclose and distance encountersz
Keep in mind that yes Bait n Switch is less damage buff but you can do Izanagi/Witherhoard swap for more total damage.
What about adding Grfalcons and volatile rounds into the mix?
I used doomed petitioner with envious which allowed 23 of my 24 rounds in the mag with precision and surges ect on day one of warlords ruin my buddy used cataclysmic I out dps by near double one phase seeing that he moved to briars where I once again out dps 1 phase by double
It's good but it's so hard to replace cataclysmic just because of how ammo efficient it is it does amazing DPS and refunds you back so many bullets it's amazing
Already have briars contempt with surrounded so i made mines with precision instrument
3 minutes in and watching footage of you trying to use this and missing 70% of your shots is almost impressive

I think Briar's is going to be better in Final Shape cause I assume the new darkness commanders are also going to receive extra damage from Harmonic.

I literally crafted this weapon 20 minutes ago. I wasn’t sure if the charge time mw change also applied to linears. Now let’s see if I did the right mw :)

@@hatchell18 you mean that it does affect charge time? Because it does work to decrease charge time despite what it might show for the weapon stats. But there was a bug that caused charge rate MW lvl 10 to decrease damage on fusions and linear fusions. Pretty sure they fixed it recently for fusions only

Because frenzy and Adagio are just better damage perks
When I first saw one it reminded me of one of the OG AR's that name totally escapes me haha. Then Strand, sweet. Then I got 2 or 3 terrible rolls & wasn't impressed lol.
Getting one with Rewind Rounds x Focused Fury or my personal favourite atm Hatchling with my Strand Builds & Seasonal Mods it's absolutely spewing Threadlings!
How many times did you off yourself with Sleeper getting those last shots?
I think deconstruct is a Sleeper pick since it refunds ammo from air on rapid hits and about 50% of all bosses count as vehicles so you gain the 15% damage buff. Mix reconstruction and you should be able to fire off something like 12+ shots in a row.
Huge sleeper pick but the other two perks are better with more of a damage buff
So how does this stack up against taipan?
Doomed Petitioner can also be overcharged in this seasons artifact, giving it 25% increased damage for the appropriate activities.
How do you get cataclysmic, the solar linear he was comparing doomed petitioner too?

The Reconstruction/Deconstruct is the best overall for non-stop damage.
I still wouldn't count Harmonic Resonance on Briar's Contempt because it only works against Lucent Hive and Tormentors. As common as the Hive have become during the seasons, it's not worth limiting my loadouts to get ~10% damage, 20 reload and handling when I could be using other weapons of choice. I'd just take Doomed because it's adjustable to builds on Permeability and equally effective with Reconstruction and (either) Precision Instrument or Surrounded.
Still indifferent on Dragon's Vengeance because it requires going into critical health or a teammate dying, but at least it benefits charge time as mentioned.
Other than that, Briar and Doomed both are very close to effective with origin traits that depend on situation, which is nice to see with Bungie giving more options to weapons these days. Fingers crossed they keep that up with weapons in Final Shape and afterwards.
How are you leaving the previous void LFR king out of the comparison: Taipan-4fr??
Most people prefer the aggressive three-round burst. I think they put out more damage then the single fire linears, but tbh I’m no pro and I could be wrong

Taipan was king of linears for a few weeks lol. Firing line triple tap is solid but that’s it. The aggressive this video is talking about do more then double tap- triple the dps taipan does.
Add volatile rounds to this and those numbers would definitely add a good chunk of damage as well

don't forget, Conditional Finality has harmonic resonance
with enhanced envious, you can get all 20 shots in the mag though, and thats on accelerated coils

But the question is. In what case or dps phase will the 20 bullets in the mag be fully shot?
@@mightyg1820 sure, but you don't have to reload at all with envious for most if not all dps phases
Presumably if you’re running this, you’re using your exotic elsewhere. I would probably witherhoard into this and then reapply witherhoard when running low on ammo. Higher total damage every phase with better ammo economy and no need to kill enemies to set up damage. Just my opinion though.

What are you talking about, I don't understand it myself but somehow envious assassin put 21 rounds (my entire reserves with 1 armor mod) into my magazine on briar's contempt. It is the absolute best.

Rewind Rounds on briars is much better and essentially doesn’t change the 1-2 mag dps since you will never have to reload even within a ~30 second dmg phase
Envious can allow you to unload your entire reserves you just need to essentially proc it twice
Doom partionier with with envious assassin with enough uptime can load 3 mags into one with out reloading. Clearly a winner in longer dps phases
I like envious on briars because I can get up to 20 shots in a mag

I just like the ease of use from this fusion, thats all. And with how i use it, i crafted it with envious and precision, just worked better for me.
I have every other linear in the game crafted so I just think it’s best that I crafted it with enhanced surrounded so that I have that situational linear I can whip out.

Fun fact about Envious Assassin - it is NOT 150% on all weapons!
The simplest way to instantly break this stigma is the proof that Envious Assasin can make rockets load up to a total of 400% at once, so this may need a specific change in wording.
Ngl I like cataclysmic better, yes it depends on what boss you’re doing DPS on like the final boss in Warlord’s Ruin I end up doing over 6 million damage while my friends end up only doing either 4 to almost 5 million but my other friend well he still hasn’t gotten above 3 million lol but yeah cataclysmic still gonna be my #1 favorite with the others being right behind it

Cataclysmic is still best due to the nature of current dps rotations (all hail izi/wotherhoard (mainly izi)) but wow doomed surprised me

briars with rewind rounds and high impact reserves, high impact reserves is always active. way better than focus fury.
Aztecross, you forgot to mention how easy doomed petitioner is to aquire, like even f2p can get it LITERALY, and if you have the lightfall dlc you can get it in less than 3 or so hours in the coil. While the Cataclysmic is an extremly hard weapon to aquire, being located in one of the hardest raids (puzzle wise) ever... and you need to get lucky five times to get it! Whilst Doomed petitioner can be aquired doing the coil (a comparably easy activity) and if you learn how to get the secret chests you can grind it out in less than 3 hours (as previously mentioned).

YALL have been sleeeeeeeping on the crafted ron linear with enhanced surrounded for a WHILE, thing comes with recon + the origin trait is insane in gotd for the bosses
personally I prefer envious assassin for 3rd column. I rarely reload and having the full reserves of 17 shots (without ammo mods) in the mag is very nice. To each their own though.
Reconstruction makes it so you have double the mag and never have to reload at all. Much better then envious
@hatchell18 but he just said he can have a 17 shot mag, more than 10 or 12 that recon can get. How is that worse?
@@tombstonesmb8730 you have to get kills with other weapons in order to proc that. And once you use the mag the effect goes away. And you still have to manually reload it most of the time. With recon it’s basically active all the time, you don’t have to do shit. You shoot all the shots then swap to a different weapon, then swap back and it’s back to double the mag. It’s not all about the mag size only. It’s about the overall effectiveness and usefulness.
@@hatchell18enhanced envious gets all 20 in the mag so you won’t have reload at all. Recon youd have to stow it or reload wasting time on dps phase. Tbh they’re both great. Can’t go wrong with either or 🤷🏻♂️ envious will get you max dmg on dps phase while recon is just convenient. Cross did a 2 mag comparison… theoretically envious doesn’t get a 2 mag dps while recon does

He was probably radiant which bypasses shields iirc

The takeaway is that Bungie power crept a raid weapon with a seasonal weapon. Precision instrument is literally just better focused fury.
