Just wondering if you could have or should have made it as a three or four part sleeved table to make it more easily movable so it doesn’t take 5 guys to set-up.
Your sanding poses added Great personality to the video! Congratulations on such a wonderful build and success on your first one. I agree with the owner, black is a perfect contrast and will not go out of style like the other colors would, like shag carpet, and purple gremlin cars.
The black is classic and compliments the Olive wood beautifully. A lot of hard work and some pretty tedious, but a beautiful job, nonetheless. I always wanted a 4 foot round game table with Black Walnut and White resin. The combination favors cows hide. God Bless and thank you for sharing.
He speaks! Realy great work and craftmenship! I would go for a black or dark blue table, maybe with a few sprinkles as star lights but that may be also a bit too much. I could also image the same colour as the chairs are in.
Wow, what a fantastic project. I couldn’t imagine how much time and dedication it would have taken to put together. Whether you wood turn your items or work with wood you are very talented indeed. I hope to see more of your amazing items x
Wow, that table is AMAZING!! I love the black. I also think a deep red would be awesome with that wood, perhaps with a little hint of bronze sparkle to give it some swirly movement.
Perfection - stunning, love it - the black is superb! Would definitely have that table in my house (would have to move to a bigger house though). You must be knackered after making that huge table!! 🤩🥵👍
Lovely. Wish i could afford a house that this table would fit in.😂 I'm not a fan of the black though. I think I'd go with a more natural dark brown. A tone that matches the original bark.
Colour, well there's a thing, amber maybe, walnut but blacks good. Surprised you stopped at such a low grit, thought you'd have gone to at least a couple of thousand. Olive is awesome, love your DIY router sled with the hinged handle. Nice job.
That is a beautiful table. I felt it was a bit too woody however it is absolutely beautiful. The other colors I might think of is translucent blue, or opaque white.
That is beyond impressive! You are such an inspiration to those of us who turn but even more to the artists who turn. Can you tell me please, what was in the spray bottle that you used to clean out the little holes/voids before you filled them with resin. Doesn't a liquid trap off color dust in the voids?
I would have gone with transparent epoxy (light grey, pale blue or even clear) so the sides of the 'cushions' of olive wood can be seen. And yes I would put that in my house if I had space!
Thought this video was from another channel at first. I’m not an expert but I don’t think there was any wood turning here. All jokes aside, great video, great table. Very nice to hear your commentary again!
If I were to make this table for myself I would do something a bit more complex than what you did. Since it's such a big, complex table and I'd be spending a TON of money, and a LOT of time to make it, I would start with a semi transparent black (just like what you have hear, but I would want to have a small bit of light pass through.. I would put RGB LEDs in the bottom of the table, in the same rectangle shape about halfway between the edge and the center, all the way around.. so I would want some of that light to come through) but I would try to fade from that black on the bottom up to a clear surface... I'm not sure how many pours it would take, but I would want to mix the layers of pours with each other.... So I couldn't let the layer get to the hardness that you got this one to, because I would try to swirl the layers together manually, if possible. (it would take a LOT of babysitting to do this, but I may not be able to use the same epoxy you used.... heck I have no idea if there is even an epoxy that this would work with.... so I might just have to forego the manual swirling) I would also try to place the cookies in a way that could use darker epoxy under any overhangs to create am exaggerated shadow around one or two sides of each one (I don't think I would do a very good job of describing the idea I have in my head, so I'll just leave at this lol) Basically I would want to have a VERY 3D shadow effect using the LEDs and the darker areas of epoxy... But I think I would HAVE TO experiment a bit on some small sample pieces before I did it on something the scale of the table.... :)
That sounds like it would be a beautiful table. I suggest doing it on a smaller scale for practice in the beginning. Please video and post for us to see.
Wow! What a beautiful table! 💜 It turned out amazing! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! I do have one question. I saw that you have some kind of push stick attached to your router how did you accomplish that? 😊
I'd never put this in my house. That's because I don't have space for it, hah! She's a real beauty though. I could totally see hanging a section of that up as wall art or making smaller table tops just like it, though. I'm not brave enough to attempt resin pours.
I know he says sold for $15,000 but is there honestly a market for this or is it just a few people in the world willing to spend that much money on a table? Cause it seems fun and I'd like to get into it as a hobby one day and maybe make some money doing it.
"Nanolayer" of anything can't provide any significant protection. One nanometer of material is only about 10 atoms thick (depends on what kind of atoms, of course). No matter how strong the material, you can probably remove several tens of nanometers of it by just rubbing it with finger. Epoxy/wooden table is inherently not super durable. It may be somewhat resistant for scratches if the wood and resin are good, but it is vulnerable to hot objects and UV (the latter can be addressed with careful selection of the resin).
It is beautiful, but I'd go a different color to brighten the whole effect. It has a very distinguished and formal look that just isn't me. A bright blue comes instantly to mind, or a carefully chosen red. It's kind of reminiscent of some Hawaiian shirts I've seen with the black background. I do really like it though and would never kick a table like that out of my house for any reason. Have I mentioned how beautiful it is?
Hi this is Rocky Fernandes from Bombay India I absolutely love what you've created but unfortunately in Bombay we do not have a lot of space in our houses something like London or else id have loved to order one of these for my dining rooms. The only difference between London and Bombay is that Bombay infrastructure is not so developed as of London it is developing We will put you guys behind us in the coming 10 to 15 years like we beat you in GDP last year😂 As regards the colour I'd like it made in aqua blue or cyan as you guys refer it to meaning the inside border The final border would be of light green colour I'd call it " *PISTA GREEN COLOUR* "

How about a lava glowing table?

Incredibly beautiful! I love how much olive wood is in there. The table is just gorgeous! Great job!!! 😊
Thank you so much 😀
I think the black is beautiful. It would look cool with a green color and lights. I think that would look like the sun shining through the trees!
Black epoxy all the way. Great to hear you back with some commentary 👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
Absolutely stunning! I would have such a hard time choosing a color. First i thought red but also blue would be beautiful for a beach home
Thank you so much!
Phenomenal table!! It's absolutely gorgeous, David!!!

Gorgeous. I like the black a lot, but I think it would also be beautiful in either a cobalt-blue or very dark forest green...
Beautiful job mate. Well done. We're currently getting a Norfolk pine kitchen bench made with a mahogany resin. Should look amazing.
Very good job. Keep it up!! I would definitely put this table in my house and I loved the black resin color.
Beautiful! Nice work. 👏
Thank you very much!
Exelent job Mr David. Pozdrawiam from Poland. Im learning from you a lots of useful tips. Thank you.

Thank you so much pal 😀
Absolutely stunning. 🤩

Very beautiful. And im sure was a lot of long hours . You are a true artist thanks for sharing
Thank you so much 😀
I would likely have gone with a semi transparent black so you can see down into the table. Great looking piece.
Yes, I would prefer that although it does look great as it is but yeah, to see down in between the pieces of wood is a great idea for another project.
Amber! Amber and yellow would look sick!
Stunning! 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
This is a beautiful table mate, great job.

Congratulations for this extraordinary table, David! If it had to be mine I probably would have gone with a dark purple or army green.
Damn David, Go big or go home for you first go and WOW you did go BIG and you smashed it HOME!
Congrats

It's gorgeous!!!! Why didn't u use the scratch resistant resin for bars n table tops?
Thank you so much 😀 My customer wanted a matt finish, table top resins creates a high gloss finish
How many days it took you to finish it from the beginning and how much was your expenses
Where did you get the wood from?
I would’ve used a Turquoise color for the resin
I never knew there were nano protective finishes.
Yes, very similar to those they apply for cars. But these are designed for tables/furniture
I probably use my three favorite colors purple baby blue and neon pink
Thank you 🙂

Is the final layer kind of lacquer?
Hard wax oil then ceramic coating. Similar they put on cars for scratch protection
