I managed to beat zards in the ranked many times using Venomoth spidops ex until i reach the ultra league. Of all the 20 matches 9 of them are Zard exe's and 6 of them are wins against them.
In conclusion, zard is very powerful, but not totally unstoppable. This is why ive seen zard players are started to put 1st stage charmeleons to keep up against item lock decks And gain a handful of victories.

I've played this deck a lot since 151 was released and even played it at a Regional. Maximum belt makes it better, however, it doesn't solve the other problems the deck has compared to the Charizard deck. The Charizard deck has better consistency through its ability to search and attach three energy when it evolves. Which you can do multiple times. Palkia's V STAR ability is a one time thing. Most of the deck is weak to electric making you very much unfavoured against any decks running Iron Hands ex. Yes, Baxcallibur decks won't be able to one shot Blastoise ex but any Iron Hands ex decks running Iron Crown ex will easily be able to Amp You Very Much for three prize cards in one attack. Finally, once you've put the two energy on the Blastoise ex you sometimes just whiff finding the two energy for the twin cannons attack.
I'd love to see this deck do well at a big tournament but over multiple rounds it is just not as consistent and has bad match ups.

Any tips for accelerating energy after using Palkia Vstar power? Once your first Blastoise goes down I find there's no real consistent way to respond with a second and third Blastoise quick enough given how quickly the meta decks set up
Palkia vstar set up 1/2 blastoise try to play along Energys turn for a squirtle instead of using on greninja, skowet+ bibarel gets you dome rlly Nice cards and irida/arvens/ionos do the work
The Charizard Ex number matches on the ladder are ridiculous, every 10 match maybe I get to play other deck... and I want to test if I can play another deck but with the number of Charizards is imposible not to play the same deck, or maybe the 2-3 decks that can beat Charizard but lose againts everything else. And by some magic programming they never whiff (actually I like that when i play my Charizard ex deck because is really nice always draw the card that i need)
I been getting smoked on the ladder all day. I tried to play different types of decks have some fun but nope. I get fucked up the ass by Charizard and Roaring Moon nonstop.
There’s gotta be some hidden text on Charizard ex that says “unaffected by everything.” Oh you want to have fun with a new deck and then charizard is gonna remind you to stay meta
I tried playing a deck with Mimi the other day and a zard went prime boss boss boss boss, starting turn 2 and not whiffing

Genuinely would rather play Mew Vmax ( my least favorite deck to play against) than Zard. It just never bricks and OhKo’s anything
Not to mention you are punished by taking early ko’s and zard can just do whatever the first few turns because if you ko like 2 mons then he just does 240 and ohko’s any basic v or ex

Day 74! I swear live pairs you up against your worst matchups. I can’t get any solid testing with any deck because I just end up playing against like 14 lugia decks in a a row.
Bro it's crazy right like I'll create decks and this thing will search out my weakness every single time impair me with that deck and it will not stop paring me with that damn deck it could be Lugia Charizard future lost ancient whatever my weaknesses I'm facing them the entire damn time 😅😅😅

@@Tundra0128 yeah for some reason if you go in with a completely new style deck it'll put you against your weakness about 95% of the time for some reason I had to go and make zard Pidgey deck twick it to my style just got to the Masters

Ive been playing this at locals since rotation. I go back and forth between whether its better to have the max belt for zard or the cape for hands
I add Lake Acuity on my deck so Blastoise is tanky and very offensive at the same time :) some even play it with heroic cape
Any chance we could get an Aegislash anti meta deck? The current meta seems primed for it with Charizard and Chien-Pao being everywhere, so it feels strange that no Aegislash decks has popped out as a fun answer.

Consider playing alolan raticate. Theres a lot of ways to play it buy im enjoying takinf six prizes at once with Absol. I play a single copy of Hawlucha so you can bench it to ko manaphy before using Absol
