@@MarieAnneLecoeur they are for sure. Trying to dress elegantly when it’s-35 with wind chill is difficult. I aim for elegant dressing 9 months of the year. For the other 3, it’s about staying warm. But I still buy quality and good materials even if the clothes are bulkier.

The pink fuchsia scarf is a very elegant pop of colour. I recently added this colour to my winter hat, glove and scarf collection, because it lifts my spirits any day of the year.

I love wool lined slacks. I have three pairs. The turtleneck is not my favorite style of sweater. I feel claustrophobic wearing them. But I do have a mock turtleneck that I can wear.

I have come to a realization that I like to dress a little differently in the winter than the rest of the year, now that I live in a climate that doesn’t change enough to warrant that (Southern California). Your winter wardrobe is lovely and smart.

I have given my wardrobe a revamp this winter, which hasn't been so much about buying loads of new things, but more about wearing different colour combinations to what I'd normally wear, and wearing things like bouclé jackets as cardigans, as you've suggested, rather than always saving them for best. La vie est trop courte, n'est-ce pas ? It's actually making me excited about planning my outfits every day and is making the cold days of winter much more bearable!

Because of you, I have added cashmere to my wardrobe, and I am expecting an online order delivery next week with more sweaters! I have a light grey cashmere wrap that I bought from Nordstrom a few years ago, and I always wear it to the cinema - it keeps me warm in a venue that can get chilly. Next spring, my husband and I will be taking an Alaskan cruise and I know this wrap will be a perfect accessory for that trip. I live in a valley and the north wind howls most of the winter months, but my area doesn't get that much snow, so I don't have a collection of winter boots. I would love to add a camel coloured wool coat to my wardrobe - it's on my list! I love your pea coat; I have a belted navy blue zip up jacket with a snap placket that I wear with my jeans. Winter wools and boots are very durable and wear so well, resisting wrinkles, isolates best, and often layered. I like a cotton shirt or thin knit as an under layer with thick sweaters. Sometimes, tights under wool pants for added warmth.

I love, love how you match around 4:50 that red/pink cardigan and it looks lovely on you So refreshing! I live in damp/cold climate and being originally from more southern, continental area, scarfs, wraps and turtlenecks are a must! The new rust trousers and the navy turtleneck would look wonderful with the Bariloche plaid blazer, it’s so very chic and classic. I always love a turtleneck under a blazer, but in my case, it’s usually a skirt on the bottom, rather than trousers (I’m impossible to fit in trousers). I tried like crazy to get that blazer, but apparently, so did many others, who saw your video featuring it, before I did! We just don’t get that high quality here in the US, sadly. Even “designer brands” use polyester for linings, which I loathe. We want breathable linings! It doesn’t have to be expensive fabric, rayon is fine, and we’re happy to pay the price difference, it can’t really be more than $5, so charge us $10.
I agree with you on linings. It drives me crazy when I find a great summer dress - that's lined in polyester! It's like wearing a plastic trash bag in the heat.

Have you tried wearing a cotton turtleneck under wool sweaters? I can't tolerate wool next to my skin, but a cotton turtleneck with body to it works great underneath. A thin fabric like silk or thin cotton doesn't work, but a midweight jersey knit cotton does.

You might get your wish. I follow Psychic Joseph Tittel every week and he's predicting record breaking cold, snow and ice, much of it in places not usually that cold. He saw frozen oranges, so I'm guessing that would be Florida.
You convinced me to try the newsboy style caps. I always wanted to but thought it wouldn't look good with my short hair---but you have short hair and they look great! I couldn't agree more about staying with natural fibers. I especially love quality winter clothing. We have short, rather mild winters but I take advantage of, and look forward to, every minute I can wear them.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I also wear hats in winter. I have a black thick 'tuque' (which looks good with my chin length hair), a grey beret, and a black wool-felt 'fancy chapeau' with a rolled up brim that I purchased in a little town in France on one of my travels. I wore that black hat all over Europe when I lived abroad in The Netherlands in the late 1990s.
My first European winter was in Austria 4 years ago and I can really tell jeans are not the best companions with such weather. I got a couple of wool trousers that matched gorgeously my wardrobe. No doubt autumn and winter are the season to look and feel like royals!

My good friend gave me a black blanket wrap in cashmere. I have few black pieces (I am an autumn) and I just can't make it work over my one pink and black blazer. It hits right near the bottom of the blazer and seems to fight with the hemline. I wore it once over a cream sweater and spent forever getting the black bits off!

Velvet/corduroy trousers keep you warm and you can wear thick tights under them or under jeans if it's not too freeezing cold.

Impopular opinion, but I enjoy wearing light, bright, fresh colours all year round. It helps to brighten up the dark winter months for me ❤
