      @@RK1FX (not Abhishek) I bought my first iphone earlier this year after owning several pixels, and earlier google nexus. The iphone has great video and I love the iphone mini form factor, but there are so many irritating things - you can't customise very much. When you try and automate something using 'shortcuts' app you can't avoid a giant notification that you have to dismiss before the automation happens, you aren't even able to dismiss an alarm before it goes off - you have to turn the alarm totally off, and then remember to turn it on later. No haptic feedback - honestly it drives me f****** crazy. However, I'm still using it as I said for the form factor and the video. Man - if only apple would tweak a few things, they would have a great device. However, as soon as Pixel gets some decent video I'll move back straight away. But if you can live with the ios software, it is a well made premium device.

    • @esgee3829
      @esgee3829 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      i'd say that the biggest advantage is that even with a fast airdrop connection it will take 1 minute to down load 1 minute of prores 422 hq footage from my iphone. lol

    • @o_Ol
      @o_Ol 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      @@Saltytide2424 one thing people should know is that prores files are meant for post-editing, not for direct output. so usually prores files would be edited and converted into desired final format. it would be crazy just to think about it if ppl use prores for direct output, because the files are so large and even an 1TB IPhone could only store up to 450min 1080P/30fps prores videos. And considering IPhone only supports usb2.0, it would be frustrating when you are going to tranfser data...

    • @DigiDriftZone
      @DigiDriftZone 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      This is nothing to do with ProRes, it’s the extra sharpening applied by the camera, you can take the ProRes, convert it to H.265 10bit which will look identical at 1/3 of the size.

      But its still not good looking...i would never use it myself. The point of having bokeh is to distinguish not just the edges of the subject in center focus but every detail that is left on the edge and isnt part of the background. Thats what gives it that layered feel, that there is in fact something closer and also an intricate background.

      @testowykana1763 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      My impression was exactly the opposite: due to less on-the-fly processing the dynamic range seems to be lower in the ProRes clips (just look at the clipped highlights on hair early in the video). The reason is, that the Standard mode does this realtime HDR effect that all modern smartphones do, resulting in much smoother highlights roll-off. I agree with the rest of your comment though.

      if you right click the video you can choose tech specs and you will see 24p timeline. The color grades were not that much so any decent software could do this. He probably used a high bit h264 codec since it's for youtube. Hope that helps even though I'm not the creator. :D

    • @Kshitijj

      Tbf, most of that is because of correct exposure and white balance. On top of that, the prores shots are graded well. So manual settings and a good colour correction/grade will probably give you a very similar result.

    • @LaurelKoeniger
      @LaurelKoeniger 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Kshitijj No, they said in another comment that the prores footage is not edited at all. That IS crazy good quality you can not achieve with the standard file format. (It's basically correct what you're saying- but the ability to capture exposure etc with enough detail is what makes prores stand out, after all.) There really is a big difference here.
