I appreciate your typing demo to allow us to hear what the keyboard sounds like. Most reviewers skip that simple thing that actually means a lot. Great job once again
Hey gilleojax, once again, it's so nice to hear from you, my long time supporter. Your messages are always so supportive, and thanks for appreciating the effort I put into my videos. It keeps me going.
how useless the comments are... the keys to get the bluetooth pairing mode is fn + F11 (press and hold until quick blinking light)
and now you can see your logi keyboard at bluetooth searcing.
Thanks for sharing the instructions
Dude!! Your comment save my day!! And my money! (Im thinking about buying another keyboards because it desperately wont connect)
Thankyou so much for this video and this certain comment, I thought my keyboard is broken untill I try the tips from your comment and it start blinking again and WORKS well now! Thankyou good people..
Thanks! I couldn't find that information even in the official site of Logitech
I appreciate the video, this helped me pair my keyboard to my phone.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment and let me know. This encourages me to make more videos.
This was very helpful I was able to use my keyboad to type this message.
how to use print screen using the k580?
Do the keys have backlights?
Unfortunately, no. You can check out Logitech MX Keys if you are after backlights.
i have connected two laptops using Bluetooth, when I want to connect the keyboard using USB, it is not being connected. what should I do to connect the keyboard to the computer that has no bluetooth?
What happen is the Logitech Unifying receiver USB dongle no longer connects to your device 1 on your keyboard. You will need to download the Logitech Unifying receiver app (support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025297913-Logitech-Unifying-Software) on your computer where you plug in the USB receiver. Follow the app instruction to reconnect / re-pair device 1 on your keyboard with the USB dongle.
I have a hard time choosing between K585 and K780, any comments/suggestions? Which is much better to use? Thanks!
K585 is more portable. K780 is designed to be sitting on a desk. K780 switches across 3 devices while k585 across only 2 devices. Personally I prefer the typing feeling of k780. Hope this helps
Can MK580 switching between windows laptop and macbook at the same time? And if not can you suggest what model of keyboard and mouse? Thank you in advance!
I haven't tested this, but I believe we can connect device 1 and 2 to both a Windows and a Mac book.
Can i use ipad 9 generation on this keyboard
Yes you should be able to connect this keyboard with your iPad via Bluetooth. It's just that your iPad most likely won't be able to fit into the slot of the keyboard to prop up your iPad. Check the dimension of your iPad.
Hey, great video! Do you know how i can connect the keyboard using usb after previously using the bluetooth function.
My keyboard was doing fine with a usb dongle, but after connecting my keyboard to my phone via bluetooth (which works fine), i cant seem to reconnect my keyboard to my pc via the dongle. The keyboard keeps searching for a device via bluetooth only.
Any fix for this problem? Thank you!
You need to pair the USB receiver with the keyboard again using this Logitech Unifying app: support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025297913-Unifying-Software
Hope this helps.
Hello! Can I use this with two laptops?
Yes you can.
Hey, can you tell which is better to use with ipad mini 6, this version or the K480?
Both are good. Ask yourself if you need the number pad, and how will they look and sit on the desk you are using your iPad mini. K480 is squarer so consumes less table space. K580 has the convenient number pad.
If you ask me to choose, I would pick K580.
Hello, I use the k380 model to connect my iPad and iPhone. But the problem is that I can't connect to my office computer. Because the computer doesn't have Bluetooth. What should I do? I don't want to use two keyboards.
Buy a USB Bluetooth adapter and plug that into your office computer.
Can you test K580 with the ipad mini if it fit for vertical stand ?
I don't have an iPad mini to test, but accord to GSM arena the 2021 ipad mini dimension is 195.4 x 134.8 x 6.3 mm. So thickness is good. And the width of the k580 slot is about 17cm, so the ipad mini should be able to fit in portrait mode, but won't fit in landscape mode. Hope this helps.
is this keyboard support logibolt ?
No it doesn't. Unifying receiver devices will not work with Logi bolt receiver. Hope this helps.
How to press the postcode?
If I connect to 2 devices and I an working on device 1 and press device 2 on the keyboard, will the mouse also switch to device 2 automatically or will it remain on device 1? And the same thing if I am on device 1 and press device 2 on the mouse, will the keyboard switch to device 2 or will it remain on device 1?
The mouse doesn't switch with the keyboard because they are independently connected to the computer.
sCREENSHOT not possible? How to?
Hi just want to ask, so I try my new K580 on my iphone, but somehow I only can use caps letter on the first letter of a row. So if for example if I want to write "My friend and I....." on my iphone using K580, I will appear as small letter. Any idea on how to solve this? Because its quite important for me
Good day! Thank you for the very informative video. I do have some questions since i can't afford to make a mistake buying the wrong item (3rd world problems). Even this keyboard is already a very big investment for me lol. Also not that techy so please bear with me. I'm currently working at home and our company provided us a Dell Wyse with very heavy restrictions, i can't even use a usb device switcher which what i was using before. Thankfully though it seems that plug and play peripherals are still allowed like my logitech g304.
Would this keyboard work without installing the logitech control center thingy which im sure my work pc will not allow?
I have also have a desktop computer which i was hoping i can switch to but then i would need 2 usb receivers. Would a generic usb receiver work with this?
Lastly, if this would work on my pc, can you recommend an affordable mouse that does the same? Thank you very much!
Hi there, I am not 100% sure because I don't know Dell Wyse, but based on any general Windows desktop PC or Mac OS, yes this keyboard works by plug and play without the need to install the Logitech Option+ app. By default if you plug the K580 USB receiver in you should be able to use the keyboard using device 1.
If you want to connect to your desktop computer on device 2, you can connect using Bluetooth. Does your desktop PC has Bluetooth? If not you can get a Bluetooth PCIe card like this one ( amzn.to/4579i2M ) or if you don't know how to open up desktop PC to upgrade, you can buy a USB Bluetooth receiver like this one I am using ( amzn.to/3qrtey7 ). Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
@@SkyPerspectiveThank you for the reply! That's great to hear! I'll be buying one by the end of the month, I'll also go for the receiver instead of the pcie card thingy. Again thank you for saving me a ton of money, I was planning on buying the logitech mx keys since i thought that was the only option until i came across your video, more power and looking forward to your future videos!
@@marcomalandac7510 Very glad I can help, and thank you for your support.
how does the swicth happen actually? I have one such keyboard from logitech which is also multi device, but I am unable to switch between my lenovo laptop and mac. It apparently works only with one at a time. I have 2 different mouses paired with each laptop individually.
Very informative.
This keyboard do not have flow. If I toggle the settings " Use F1-F12 as standard function keys " ( I want use the function keys normally, like quick renaming by F2) , there is no way I can switch the keyboard between two device . I wish they had an option special toggle option for only F11 and F12.
My old k375s didn't have this problem. I do not understand the point of having a multi device keyboard without flow.
Thanks Koushik Paul, glad you find it informative. This keyboard does work with Logitech Flow. To be precise, when I use this K580 keyboard with my Logitech M720 mouse, configured using the Logitech Option App (not the newer Logitech Option+ app), I can set the app to auto switch over the K580 keyboard when my M720 flow over to the other computer.
Yes I know what you mean when it comes to switching the F1-F12 keys over to hot keys.
@@SkyPerspective Can't thank you enough, I tried again and yes, it does have flow.
@@KoushikPaulliveandletlive Very happy you got it working on your side. Wonderful!
I have a Logitech K780 which you also had or have. Is there a key combination or shortcut for "Print Screen?" I don't think it has user-programmable keys. Thanks.
No, not particularly the "Print Screen" command. In the Option+ app, the similar options we can configure are "Print" "Screen Capture" and Screen Snip". Why do you need the "Print Screen" short cut? If you are trying to capture a screen shot on windows, you can try "Shift+Win+S" key combo.
@@SkyPerspective Thanks. Yes it is for s screen capture. My laptop keyboard has a "Print Screen" key which I use fairly often.
@@woofinu Windows+shift+s can help. Not as easy, but gets the job done.
@@varunjoshi4410 On the K780 keyboard. I found that fn + del does screen capture.
Does k580 has membrane keys or scissor keys? Because, I'm looking for scissor keys.
Does it's keys are any different from MK470?
Hi, to be honest, I am not very sure. It feels more like scissor-switch keys to me. Hopefully someone who knows can confirm this. If they are membrane, then they are very good membrane keys. They type very well. Both the MK470 and K580 have the same keys type, that's for sure.
@@SkyPerspective Thank you soo much for clarification.
@@ShubhamSingh-tr7mm That's ok, Welcome
very much informative
Thanks
Could i use the mouse from mk470 on the 580? Or do I have to buy a new one? And if i do buy a new mouse will i be able to ude it on two keybords (one for home and one for office)
No unfortunately the mk470 mouse only works with the single usb receiver for both its keyboard and mouse.
If you want to use one mouse for both at home and office, I would suggest getting the M350 pebble mouse. It connects via Bluetooth for one computer and connects via the usb receiver for the other. Of course you can also keep it simple and use the USB receiver for both computers. Hope this helps
@@SkyPerspective Thank you so much! I just bought to mk470 only to find out it wont work at the office for safety reasons :( Thank you for a quick responce and for helping :)
@@PastryTCB what's the issue with mk470? Why didn't it pass the safety test at your work place? I am curious.
@@SkyPerspective I dont know but this is what IT wrote back to me when I asked why my device didnt work : Only unifying and Bolt wireless receivers are allowed to use wireless. keyboard and mice that use wireless receivers without the labels are blocked.
I think it's so we cannot download info on the usb or something like that. that's what i heard someone say anyway. i just want to use my cute little mk470
@@PastryTCB I think I know why. I suspect it's because of these reasons. 1) in environments with lots of wireless keyboards and mice, the radio frequencies may interfere with each other. Unifying receivers and more so of Bolt receivers are more advanced and have less tendencies to interfere. (2) security reasons. With unifying receivers and more so for Bolt, people cannot tap your keyboard wireless signal and see what you type on your keyboard. There are Passwords stolen this way.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi, do have any issue to use back the USB receiver?
yes i cant
Hi, just got myself a z Fold and looked for a keyboard that fit with my workflow and found your channel. Everything's great! I have a dilemma, however, of I should pick m580 or m780 to put in my office and switch in between laptop and fold. Which do you recommend? Thanks!
Hi Triz, I use both of them and I can understand your dilemma. The K780 is a hefty keyboard and it's primary design to ground itself on one desk, not portable at all, can't even move it easily on the desk; and the K780 doesn't have the dedicated page up/down, Insert, Delete, Home, End buttons like the K580. The other difference is the arrow keys. The K580 have big left and right arrows and the up/down arrows are half the height of the left and right arrow, where as the K780 arrow keys are all the same size, with a gap on top of the left and right arrows. I myself is used to the consistent arrow size on the K780 as I can move my three fingers to the gap on top of the left right arrows and I know I am there on the arrow keys. I can't do that for the K580.
K780 connects to three devices, where as K580 is only two devices.
Hopefully pointing out these differences will help you lean more towards one of them. To be honest, I can't choose between the two, that's why I am using both of them at the moment on two of my work desks. Let me start a voting post for you to see which keyboard is more popular amongst my viewers.
@@SkyPerspective that's a comprehensive differences! Many thanks!
The poll is here: th-cam.com/users/postUgkx-pNEPo_CCKKig0NaDHiQ6svQmOJ41dhi
Let's see which keyboard is more popular. 👍
help I cant switch usb receiver mode :(
If you have paired the first device button to use bluetooth with your device, then button one will no longer be connected to the usb receiver. What you need to do is to download the logitech Unifying receiver software ( support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025297913-Unifying-Software ) to connect back to the unifying usb receiver. Hope this helps.
Just gonna pop in to say that I only changed batteries after a year of use and only seldomly turning it off just to reset it or something~ 👍
my keyboard can't use function media, how can i fix it ? thank you
Try holding the fn key and then press the media key. Let me know if this works.
Hi Please advise can this keyboard copy from the mobile an paste on the PC ?
Not that I am aware of. For use cases like that, I use Google keep. Just copy-paste to Google keep and on your pc get it from Google keep.
I wish a tablet fit there
I didn't measure, but my guess is an ipad mini in portrait should be able to fit. If you want to put a tablet on a keyboard, I recommend Logitech K780 keyboard
Cool s**
