When they in army, they are not busy so they got chance to improve. SM artist tends to get busy even though they look not busy. So they use this opportunity to improve their singing. That's why their singing improved.
I can say, all members get better after the military 😂 including singing, dancing, humor, mc-ing, variety skill..it's like they're going to academy not military

It is! I've always liked Kyuhyun's performance, and while his technique was great, there were times that his 'flaws' are noticeable. But I swear his performances in his 2nd time in KOMS (ALL songs) are flawless!! I was pleasantly surprised. I guess he had more time to focused practice on his vocal during his service. Gosh.

he always covered park hyoshin songs in his concert and fanmeeting. sometimes, those versions are even better than the broadcast one. his concert wild flower version was even superior than his koms. he was sick when he performed wild flower in his first appearance in koms.

I can totally understand when some contestant - like Kim Heechul did, too - says that they join the competition to sing their favourite song to the audience. They join to have a good time. It's not about winning or losing. There are a lot of good songs sung by other artists that they might love to sing their way, to the public, but established artists with albums and singles of their own are usually invited/paid to sing their own songs. Kyu's choice of songs are great and they become more awesome with the power of Kyu's vocal. Too bad Kyu had to stop after his 5th win. Of course he has tight schedules and all but it would've been great to be able to hear him sing a lot of beautiful songs with his powerful vocal ❤️
