WOW Ive been playing Blackberry blossom since the 1960 s. and never once have I ever heard it played this way.. I wonder why? you do such a fantastic job.. I might just pick up the 5 again and begin playing again.. Nice videos Thank you for taking your time in making them! David

Brilliant! I never really fancied the sound of the melodic version for this tune so I stayed clear. Love the Scruggs version here and I’ll slip a some of the single string in also. Thanks for this, great work!

Love the orchestration of the melodic and single string. Sounds closer to the original tune. Would lousy it is a hard tune to play?

Funny how all the versions do the same thing where it goes to E minor! That's what I do as well

I've long been of the opinion that the people who like single string style the most, are banjo pickers who understand how difficult it can be to play. Big deal. The joy of the 5 string banjo is the smooth flowing stream of notes. Occasionally you need to do a single string lick or two when it's the only way to get the notes you want, but too often it's just showing off to other banjo players. A few can do it so well that they preserve that lovely smooth flow of notes (Fleck, Pikelny, etc) but not many. Get a tenor banjo and a plectrum if you want to do that stuff! (Thanks for a great video, by the way!).
