I remember when you could get a Countach for $80,000.
When I was 13, I was on holiday in Cyprus with my family. Browsing through the shops, I stumbled across a Tonino Lamborghini watch in the local jeweler. At the time, the 5.0 Lamborghibi Gallardo was my dream car, and still is to a certain degree. Im 29 now, and still havent fufilled that promise to the 13 year old me. However, when I buy one , I'll be sure to wear that watch when I pick it up and everytime I drive it. So everytime I look at that watch, I can smile at the promise I kept.

I came from very humbled beginnings as a kid and I went in the Army at 18 and did 20 years and retired and got in auto sales at a Honda dealership after I retired and learned the business. After 5 years I opened my own used car dealership and it's been running 18 years now. I bought my first exotic about 5 years ago and it was a blue 2005 Gallardo (E-gear) from Manhiem Atlanta to keep for myself. Just owning that car and remembering where I had came from was about as emotional as one could be. I have since sold that Gallardo, but I plan on retiring in two years at 62, and another Gallardo will be my retirement gift to myself.....Thanks for sharing your story!!

I think any manual super car is a wise investment for the next 20 years or so. Despite the DCT being faster there's something to be said about the control and experience of manual transmissions. Just like when I rode motorcycles I always geared them for acceleration and sacrificed the top speed above 175mph. Because just like the enjoyment you get from manually shifting you will experience more than the improvement in lap times, on motorcycles you spend more time accelerating than you do above 170-180mph.
When I enter the market in 1 June 2023, that's the kind of Gallardo I'm gonna be looking for, a manual, 100,000 dollars or less, put miles on it and not feel guilty. Can't wait.
See, this is why I love watching videos with Casey in it. Unlike some of the storytellers that have been on here, Casey doesn't make me feel like shit because I'll never be able to afford one of these high dollar supercars. Not saying all of the supercar people on VINWiki are like that, but there are a few that do. Also, Casey, I still think you should give your lambo the Knight Rider treatment. :D You probably could find an AI that fits on a Raspberry Pi that will play random clips from the show and display the graphics on the infotainment unit. (Maybe a project for the Genius Garage?)
Unless you already own one.. this isn't something to wait for. It just further keeps the car in your dreams only. You want them to depreciate if you don't have a heavy wallet. Gotta live like you won the lottery 20 years ago or whatever Ed says.

I love mine. Drive the crap outta it. Always take time to talk to anyone who asks about the car. I never want to be seen as a jerk! However it does draw a lot of attention so my 16 y/o daughter will not go in it unless she is all dolled up LOL. No plans to ever sell.......I think they will only go up in value....

I'm lucky as I don't mind e-gear at all. It is more effective at turning gears than a driver and if I would ever own LP Gallardo, I will do maintenance on it myself and replace Lamborghini parts with more sensible Audi or VW parts. Clutch replacement for example is nothing complex, just very time consuming. Lamborghini is one of the most reliable and cheap supercars to run considering that it is easy to fix and you can cut half of the cost by Audi parts which are identical and shared parts between two manufacturers. Really, it is an enthusiast's car.
