I feel very confident that next season will be their season. Marian will now be practically guaranteed a fortune as one of Aunt Ada's few heirs, the other being Oscar and maybe Agnes, and she will make sure that Marian has a good enough dowry to marry who she wants for love.
I love how aunt Ada’s support led to the love between these two if it wasn’t for her Marian would not have the courage to move on and that’s why she is one of my favorite characters because of her support and kindness throughout out the story I love her so much ❤
19:18 Great acting. It seems so obvious but great actors ACT LIKE THE THOUGHT is occurring to them. Weak actors recite the lines and often too quickly.
Edit: Two scens needed to be removed: 1. Where Larry sees both Marian and John about his clock 2. The kissing scene Hopefully the video is still enjoyble without them and for the kissing scen there is a video about it posted by @belleepoque3919
IMO they should be included in this video. They are small but pivotal moments throughout their story arc. True the kiss can be viewed all over YT, but it would have made a wonderful final touch to your post. Thanks for the upload. 💜
Curiously wondering; Did they really have that peculiar way of being escorted across by a butler? This is something I’ve never ever seen before in a period drama. Of any period.
I am sorry that you think so. I actually really like Louisa Jacobson Gummer as Marian. She gives her the touch of an open mindedness and curiosity to the character. I also find her beautiful both on the inside and outside ❤️
I haven't thought about it before, but to me it seems like these two actors do have a rather more European look to them in features--they don't come across to me as the most "American." I wonder if even subconsciously those who did the casting (were they British?) did that even though others in the cast are obviously American, well-known Americans, as, if the casters were European themselves, they might still end up choosing people they might think of as most attractive in their usual way of thinking...as opposed to choosing what I think Americans really would have looked in those days? Shrug, I thought the same about the cast of Little Women by Getting, and she wasn't American...it made that Little Women just not feel quite right, as the obvious American-ness of looks wasn't there. Europeans may not always realize just how much that plays into the whole feel of a performance, to have the cast look like they belong in the right country. I suppose it's always been the same for foreigners watching Hollywood movies that are supposed to be happening in other countries.
That's such an odd comment. You're literally saying, the actors 'have a rather more European look to them', 'as opposed to what I think Americans really would have looked like in those days'. You do realize, these people are basically Europeans, right? Their families would have only emigrated to the US a couple generations ago and at that time, people usually chose partners from their own class and ethnicity/religion. A 'Van Rhijn' might have married a 'Brook' but that would have been the extent of 'intermixing'. How would they look 'American' (whatever that is even supposed to mean), rather than Dutch or English? The whole American upper class at the time was (mostly Western) European by heritage.
The way Peggy instantly knew 😂
Yup, she did! 😂
I know exactly how Julian Fellows writes...as soon as he saved the dog, I knew they'd end up together.
I'm glad this is working out. I think it's because they're friends first who've supported each other.

I see her giving more to Marian than Oscar
He’s always been in love with her!
Right there were definitely strong chemistry between them at their first meeting 🥰
Thanks for this 😢
I can’t wait for the next season!

All I know is that Larry now has those skills and experience he learned from that cougar 😈 meow! 😼
Why did you cut off the best part at the end when they kiss for the 1st time?
I am sorry I really wanted to but I wasn't allowed to post it sadly :((
Miranda Hpbbs being nice??? Where the hell have I ended up????
Haha yeah she is really sweet in this series 😁
Omg ! Drake from Poldark !

Not sure maybe, I think this time was because he wanted to spend more time with her ☺️
Out of all the actresses out there why this one to play the pretty Marianne Brooks? She’s dry and unbelievable as the beautiful young ingénue.

Uhmmm... you DO know that all the white americans are white LITERALLY bc of their european heritage?🙃
I don’t think this is a real accurate recreation. This was simply made to appease liberals.
A time when Americans looked almost charming.
