It worked great on a group of 4 and one was a part-time magician too. They were all surprised even after I did it twice in a row. I tried something slightly different and stated, "when you see the candle about to go out, that means the candle found your card"... then once it almost goes out, I pick up the deck and continue the rest of the trick as designed. i started with a simple trick with my sisters card deck. then I grabbed my scorched deck from my pocket with the excuse that I wanted to use my deck because I was gonna burn a card and didn't wanna ruin any of hers lol. it was perfect! thanks!!
What you do is say something like "Now I didn't kill the flame, The flame when inside the box found your card and burn'd it but only your card." or try something like that if you're having a hard time finding what to say.

I watch the ads and sometimes I click on them because it pays for the show and sometimes the deals are really good.
This method worked so good, Chris Ramsey added a corner tear to the force and released it as "voodoo"

Daniel Garcia is one of the most popular magicians in the world if he wanted to he could have done a much more invisible force l, but he knew it would have been to advanced for people who don't know magic
I bought "Scorched" a few years ago and loved that trick ever since, DG is an amazing magic inventor

I saw the way she selected the card, and instantly knew he forced her to pick the 7 of diamonds
I noticed the force, but I doubt most spectators would either notice it or think it was relevant to the performance. The final delivery is nice.

It amazes me that I didn't even notice that he just got her to sign the card that was at the bottom of the deck... I went back to watch it again, and it's so obvious. I don't think I'd be able to pull this one off as well. Haha

I used to have liberty spikes in highschool. Takes like 5 to 10 minutes.
Actually he has a video doing his hair, it takes 9 minutes

Really easy trick honestly. I like the effect of it, but I'd prefer a traditional Hindu shuffle over what they did. It looks cleaner, and as if you actually stopped to "their card" If done fast enough people will stop you long before you would mill the deck to the bottom so its almost forced on. All and all pretty neat!
for you all saying that this is lame, the thing about magic is not how hard it is done, but how we present it, sometimes simple is better
honestly he simplified it for them he actually teaches the trick better on one of his dvds

I have a small background in magic, but of all the scam school episodes I have seen (maybe 30 or more). I have predicted every magic trick. their to simple and I have a very hard time believing these will trick anyone.
I have used many of these tricks successfully...
admittedly this guy did a really obvious force but that is not typical of this show.
Not really the point. Anyone who knows how a force in general works will pick up on this easy.
***** there are better forces you can switch out for this, it doesn't mean that this whole trick is bunk. also, it doesn't mean the whole series is bunk. Like I said, many have worked for me in the past.
If you are saying that there is no force move in the world thats worth doing, than I think just about everyone would disagree with you. forces are used by professionals all the time.
Yes I agree you need a better force. Some forces can even fool people who know how they work. The tick in particular as a whole was just too predictable in my opinion, and pretty much every trick I have seen on scam school.
***** You're forgetting something very important though: As you have already pointed out, you already have a background in magic. Even if you're not a pro, you've studied the bare minimum of magic to be used to it, and your mind is now wired to understand magic to a certain extent. Most people haven't, and thus are fooled by these small, fairly obvious tricks. And that's what makes them even more great, because once the trick is explained, anyone who didn't get it is going to do a major facepalm. I think this trick in particular showcases one of the greatest things about magic that is controlling your victim's perception of the trick.

I clicked on this video after googling something unrelated because it looked interesting. It's like opening a time capsule...
Sry for taking so long to answer, you know, I've never done magic, but I just love the thing, the feeling of being amazed, maybe yes, someone that has no idea what to expect will fall for it, but anyone who understands the concept of deceptiveness involved in magic will be able to see this easily.
I'm just a guy who loves magic and have seem hundreds of tricks, and in my perception, this is a bad trick. I didn't mean to offend in anyway.

great trick
The burnt card would be obvious with a riffle force, since it's usually done face down. And even if you can pull it off face up without anyone noticing, bending a partially burnt card is not recommended.
When I do this trick I will do a double lift so I can show the back of the card undamaged then put it in the box and continue with the trick as shown on the video.
Yea me too knew how it was done to. But that way it's free to learn

I do this trick at my high school all the time and people just freak out, its one of the best tricks in my arsenal but of course i use a better force.

the magic is because the fire and air supply in the candle detect the sharpie/marker that was written on the card, leaving a black mark.
the trick was pretty good. the force used was the only issue. still a good one.

What if you have a heckler who waits until you exhaust the pack and still doesn't say stop because they want you to get the force lost in the deck first? Would false cuts be too obvious to get the deck back when you notice they're prolly going to try and screw you over when they haven't said stop in the first like 10 seconds?

Ok figured out how the trick worked right away, I saw the force. But my question what if they pick the card up? I'm going to work on this one and come up with a better way

@ThreeOfHeartsMagic I know how you feel but really all you need is two decks with the same color cause your forcing any card that you want placed at the bottom of the deck.
I watch them because he makes them fun or at least not completely boring to watch

first trick has invisable ink that darkens when put under heat thats why it was the only one that looked burnt

Can somebody tell me how to get the discoloration at the back (done with a lightner) without bubbling and discoloration the front of the card. I screwed up six cards. Everytime when I trie it, the card bubbles!
Hold the card further away, if it's not making marks you're not holding close enough.
How much did you learn using that technique?
I spotted this one immediately. Riffle force is far more effective and only really a step away from this one.

It's a good trick and I'm a really big fan of DG, but I have to say I like Wayne Houchin's Carbon Paper better
How did the black burn get on the card ?
Fact: If you spam watch enough Scam School you will notice that he uses the bottom card on the first run through. Is this personal growth?

Impromtu, I usually dont have a candle around especially at school performances, so generally i just tell the person to concentrate all of their energy. Also watch ouch for bubbling and discoloration of the front of the card.
I do this trick but I use a cull force. Much better than a hindu force cause it looks like a real free choice and u don't need to remove the card from the deck so it's harder to notice the card is warped by the flame.

Fans of Dan G. can find this in his DG Project products and it was easy to spot once you see through the Hindu Force.
