- Are you trying to make your Vintage Booth stand out? Come along with me as I revamp my booths. I'll tell you about the most important lessons I've learned while running my vintage/antique booths over the last 3 years!
It takes work, but it pays off! 🖼 Come along to see how we created a unique new layout in our original booth and how we fluffed and stuffed our 2nd booth. Also, Beth has decided to keep the 3rd booth - so come see how that is turning out!

I find things at estate sales and auctions, charity shops, and thrift stores, and even pluck treasures from Goodwill bins and street curbs as they are headed towards the landfill.
Your purchases help fund more unique and antique treasure rescues and you give these treasures a new life in a new home.
Buying rescued treasures helps the planet! If we could all stop buying new things from the big box stores and start treasuring the beautiful things that already exist, we could lessen our individual impact on the planet. That is what YoSoBoHo is all about!

I like the way you have used the cement blocks.
Thank you! It makes it nice for hiding little things in the cubbies, but it is a permanent look. So if we want to do something different in there, it will take a bit of effort. (I’m already thinking about it. Lol)
Thanks Amy for showing me your booths. Yours are so much more inviting than most👍❤...by far. You got me remembering🧠 one of my first jobs was doing the store front windows in a small town I lived in. Wow,😲 that was 48-50 years ago. Much later I helped run a small antique store and had a booth in it. It was called "What not shop". haha love ya

Love your booths!! They look fantastic… & I would definitely be drawn in. I am “fluffy” & need room to move around comfortably & not be afraid I am going to knock something off & break it. Over crowded booths will always be a no from me. I don’t think I could work there though… I would just buy too much 😂😂😂
& Irf reminds me of Rob, he is the same way. Always ready to help me with any of my crazy ideas… isn’t it wonderful to have a husband like that? ❤❤
Yes! Us “fluffy” ladies need space! There are definitely some booths I do not enter for fear of causing damage! 😂

I love your booths! Here in the San Francisco Bay Area it’s very hard to pull off, as they charge small businesses way too much to make it worthwhile. It’s such a huge culture shift compared to your neck of the woods.
Thanks Annekathrin! That’s such a shame! Vendor malls like ours are great for so many reasons! They create revenue for lots of small business owners, they create community, and keep things in circulation. Many people will come to find furniture and decor instead of going to Walmart or Target because it’s usually better quality and cheaper! You have to love that! 💕
Add some fabric drop behind the glass shelves that way you can change it out and quicker then painting ❤️

What FUN!! I noticed your feathered flamingos. I have 2. Put them away during baby proofing period. Time to put things back and do some rearranging. Love your antique stove! Didn’t see the price, but what an amazing piece of history to cook on!! I also liked your arrangement of the booths after update, didn’t notice the before too much because I was excited about your NEW GOODIES!! On to the “Peruse With Me” of THE SHOPS BY THE LAKE booths! Aunt Beth was BrAvE in that 20% off booth. LOVED the deer flower frog with bowl for $28.00!! Don’t need it, but it would DEFINITELY have a PROMINENT PLACE on display if I did!! And…, that price!!! (I had to pause to swallow I was salivating so much!) Three booths is AWSOME as well as a full time obligation. (One I’d enjoy under different circumstances, but would love to visit often as I am today!) You’ve (You & your sweetheart and Aunt Beth) got your goodies displayed beautifully!! Thanks for the “drooling” experience!!🥳🎉🥰👏

The stove started at $350 and is now $175. It will take the right buyer, but in the meantime, it makes a very cool display for old kitchen stuff!
We love to peruse the rest of the booths and find those that are having sales! Lol

Very tough learning curve, indeed! 🤪 We didn’t want to believe that it was our inventory, but we couldn’t be sure. We stuck it out at our first location for too long… thinking the holidays would put us back in the black. We were wrong, but it wasn’t the merchandise. When we took our stuff into the new location we had huge sales our first weekend and 1st month!

A Very Nice Gathering! You got some nice subs!!! Loved the discussion of your booth. You are really lucky Irf is interested in you!!!🤣 That is pretty special how he comes and helps you with reorganizing/moving booths/hauling old and new items,etc.!!!! Loved seeing your booths! I’m now in a shop trying to rehome some things to make room for different things. You’re right. It’s work but fun! I’ve seen vendors use wallpaper on or behind shelves ♥️

Hi Amy I’m new to your channel and really enjoying it! Good stuff! Saw one video where you were in Willoughby. My dad grew up there. Almost drowned in Lake Erie when he was a kid 😮
Hi, Donna! Thank you! 🥰 I grew up in the Headlands, about 1/2 a mile from the lake. We grew up going to Headlands Beach, a lot! I think all of us kids almost drowned at some point. There was a serious undertow there. Although I’m sure your dad’s story is more dramatic, and I glad he didn’t drown! 🤗

Hi Amy, so im only about 2/3rd the way through but always like your video's. What I'd like to know, what's the best way to find an ideal booth? I'm open to ideas.
I’d say talk to vendors and watch customers. We talked to a lot of booth owners and asked where their booths were located, if they were making good sales, how long they had been there (because if they’re sticking around a long time they must be making money!)
And then we walked the mall and watched customers. Do they come in and migrate in a certain pattern? If it’s a big place you want a booth near the front that people will see and spend time in.
Sometime people only make it through 1/2 the shop.
Love your booths but I seen one thing in one of the booths that could be a fall hazard and that was a throw rug on the floor..I knew someone who tripped on one and broke an elbow...you have older people come in and are not 100 percent aware of their surroundings or busy looking at something and can trip and fall...not just older people but anyone can have a fall...I walk with a cane and could catch it on the rug and fall.. just alittle insight..good luck with your booths..good video...

I think you are talking about the rag rug in my aunt’s booth (a long runner)? We had a similar one in our original booth that sold pretty quickly, hopefully hers will as well. 🤗
Yes the runner in your aunts booth...rugs display nicely on a quilt rack and alot safer...
I've always wanted to do this! here are my questtions: do you have to sign a long lease? How often are you expected to be in your booth or in the store? Do you ever buy from one booth to sell that item in your own booth? Are you still having fun?
Hi! My advice would be to start small, if you can. See what a case or a small space costs in your vendor mall. Be picky! Make sure you interview other vendors. See how long they have been there, if they like the space, management and traffic. Visit during different hours to see how busy they are on different days and times.
Some places require a 6 or 12 month commitment. Mine does not.
The last place we were, expected us to be there twice a month, but this place has no expectations. However, the more time you spend refreshing inventory and moving things around will equal better sales.
Yes, I will buy from another booth to sell in mine. There are a few booth vendors who buy stuff from the auction, cheap, and they are happy to sell it to us cheap to put in our booths. I would not be offended if someone bought something from my booth to sell in theirs. Maybe it isn’t in my wheelhouse, or it fits their booth aesthetic better. :)
I’m having fun because I’m doing it with my aunt. If I was doing it on my own, I would want to rent a space that was very close to home. That’s my biggest complaint about my current location… It’s too far away. Hope that all helps.
