    I am also a month ahead and that makes it so much easier. By the 5 of the month all my bills are paid, including my mortgage. Love it! No more late bills.

    I do not have a Savvycents Wallet but did enjoy your video. I honestly will probably never get one BUT your video gave me a good idea on how to use a similar system with a debit card instead of cash. I do not like the idea of carrying around over $30 at any given time it's just a personal preference.

      +Deana lovellette Hey Deana, I found it somewhere online a while back when I was googling meal plan sheets. I don't know the site but I do have the pdf form saved to my computer. If you'd like me to email it to you I can, my email is jaj073187@yahoo.com

    Jessica, just wondering when you total your receipts, do you round up to whole dollars?

    • @jessicaashley8907
      @jessicaashley8907  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +billh150 Yes I do. Unless I used change and paid the exact amount, then I'll round down.

    Great video Jessica thank you for sharing. I have a cheeky question. Why does Jarod get $200 personal and you only get $25 for personal money? Does he use it for other stuff too?

      I actually get 50 but was just going to take the other half out later if I needed it. Still a big difference I know but I just am not a spender like Jerod. A lot of his goes to playing golf, and he goes out to lunch 1-2 times a week usually. It's just something I've had to learn to accept! Lol

      +Jessica Ashley I'm not going to mention this to my husband. He might get ideas, lol. You are a very generous spirit. I'm sure Jarod appreciates it X

    do you find it easier to stick to your grocery and other budgets when you pull it out weekly bs monthly?

    • @jessicaashley8907
      @jessicaashley8907  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Amy browneyes No I find it easier when I take it out once a month. Not really sure why. But I never was able to stick to using cash when I had to pull it out weekly because I would end up not making it to the bank each week. Do you pull cash out weekly?

    • @atdepaulis
      @atdepaulis 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jessica Ashley I pull it out by weekly, when I get paid. I used to shop every week or several times a week lol but since moving here I started doing it every two weeks and shopping for 2 weeks at a time and find it works well for me. I keep to my budget because I am not in the store all the time :) I have to be really good with my meal planning and shopping list to make sure I don't forget anything too lol when we run out of fresh fruit and veggies we use frozen. I figured out I just have to keep my butt out of the store!! haha

    I have missed your videos. I haven't had a laptop since the end of Nov. I really like the idea of using sticky notes and writing everything out. On the church area is that for your tithe?

    • @jessicaashley8907
      @jessicaashley8907  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Yvonne Johnson Hey Yvonne glad to have you back, hope everything is well with you! Yes that would be for our tithe, we like to give cash on Sundays but don't always get around to getting cash out, so we usually end up paying online.

      Ok. Things have been crazy for us. We had to put a new computer in our mini van. That cost over 900.00. We are slowly paying it off. The guy that we take it to goes to our church and fixed our van. We didn't have all the money to fix it. I am so thankful that he did that for us. My husband trying to find a better paying job. He works fulltime and I work part time. We have been talking about getting back to budgeting. We have been bad about not doing one.

    is the missing money the change? I lump mine in the change section, all combined :)

    • @jessicaashley8907
      @jessicaashley8907  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Carrie Holden No it wouldn't be the change. I just use a dollar here and there for little things and forget to track it, need to start remembering!

    I usually take my cash out weekly, I have never been enough ahead to do it monthly. Can't wait until that day happens..

    • @jessicaashley8907
      @jessicaashley8907  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Maureen Cairney Maybe you could find a way to make some extra money to help make that happen, like have a garage sale or sell some stuff on Craigslist?

    Did you ever just use debit cards-or was it always cash? I feel like it might be a hassle...

    • @jessicaashley8907
      @jessicaashley8907  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Katie Ricks I have not always used cash. I go back and forth with using cash because yes it can be a hassle to go to the bank, but now that I only have to go at the beginning of the month it is much easier and we have been sticking with the cash for about 6 months now. I do my budget in excel so I feel that the cash is easier to track rather than having to take the time to get on the computer, look through our bank account and update the spreadsheet. Hope that's what you were asking! :)
