The OEM tank has the bleeder inline with the small hose that goes to the other side of the radiator so the mishi won't bleed properly as you discovered. I love mishi's instructional video where they say, "now bleed the system and you're good to go!"
Very nice install! I second the rubber grommet. Try contacting mishimoto to see if they left a part out of the kit. Doesn’t seem like it’s supposed be metal to metal like that.
Shvlhead82 I’ve contacted them and yeah it’s “not suppose to move” mishimoto’s d&d team has failed when it comes to the fit and finish of their e36 products.
I don’t recommend Mishimoto for e36s, I have this & it looks OK, but had to modify it because of my blower & oil cooler. Zionsville Autosport is where the quality is at, but you gotta pay.

it looks like there should be a rubber mount for the expansion tank bracket.
so what's the extra hose coming off to the left side?
It seems like a rubber thingy goes there. Idk lol, i mean its a perfect spot for it and kinda buffer the movement
