this was the most bone-chilling part of the episode for me, the psychological horror of a child that doesn't know their own strength and the realism of a family that won't take the risk to listen :(
The thing that got me the most is that what killed the family was the most "reasonable" course of action. You have a daughter that was killed by a wolf who can mimic other people, and something comes to your door asking to be let in and it sounds like your daughter's voice. The reasonable course of action in any horror movie would be attacking and/or fleeing. But at this point, Ylfa is a scared little girl who just wants her mother, and I am 100% sure she would not have hurt them if she had been calmly let in. It's getting stabbed by the woman who raised her which triggers the failed wisdom save and her losing control of the wolf. I could talk all day about this scene; it's one of the best horror scenes I've ever seen in media.
i dont know why, but ylfa repeating "im sorry i cursed, im sorry i cursed" after swearing fucking kills me. there's something about that little detail that just gets me every time
Brennan gave some very strong Annihilation vibes from this. Like I just kept imagining the bear scene and Reds family just hearing some horrible mimicry of their child’s voice only for it to just actually be their daughter.
I’m so excited to see the legendary Emily Axford be a werewolf. She puts so much time and effort into her characters. And how lycanthropy is seen as the wolf putting on peoples cloths by normal people. Watching Emily wreck shop as a barbarian ware wolf is going to be so fun, I think she’ll be a path of the beast barbarian.

I think this is a more interesting version of Red. A pre teen that contracts lycanthropy. Opens up so much more doubts as to how grandma died.

I keep forgetting Emily is actually an adult because she embodies Red so strongly.
This scene absolutely destroyed me. Her repeating “I can fix it” to herself just… kills me. Emily’s performance in this entire series was incredible
