Your description says "guys". Does that mean evan winter is more than one person?
@@jonathanmartinez5984 maybe he is royal

I have actually all-ready read it based of your recomendation. Great book!
Daniel Greene you can just tell he has a true heart for this, a super nice guy
Pretty cool that you're getting authors on your channel.
It would be so important to get the author back for another interview, especially now, in 2o2o, to tackle current issues.
You do need to somehow approach these issues, I'm from Europe, and we're very sad and concerned for Y'All right now.
Who would have guessed the events of 2o2o...it needs a discussion from this community. This needs to happen.
@@sidh196 idk wtf he is even trying to say?!
I know you don't necessarily prefer race mentions on your channel, but as an African American, young, aspiring author I must confess how influencing this interview was for me. Thanks Daniel
You nailed it. Same boat and this is so amazing.
Let me know when you decide to write something. I’d love to read it
@Robin Thank You
Likewise. So inspiring.
Mr Greene you’re a natural interviewer, your ability to listen, rather than talk over your subject is great
As a South African, reading this book was so much fun (and funny at times), seeing the names of characters the same as the names of your mates from next door!
Exactly what about being south African enhanced your reading of the story?
@@Nick_DIA his comment was pretty clear, unless you don't know how to read
@@kingslayer3365 I just wanted to know why being south African enhanced his reading experience and if it did t why he felt the need to to tell us that bit of useless information.
I'm trolling man, calm down.
@@fineapple3435 So you like really big...nevermind
@@Nick_DIA the names of the characters being african and finding yourself in the story as a person of colour living in Africa. Which is rare.
This is gonna be my next buy for sure.
My library system brought 7 of The Rage of Dragons. They were all checked out. So I brought my own copy and the audiobook.
Cool
My library got 3 copies...... there are 23 holds 😬
Literal Goosebumps whenever Tau's dishes a can of ass-kicking. Especially from the perspective of other characters whenever they face-off against the Common of Kerem
Yes. Especially when he worked his ass off to get so good. It didn’t just come to him.
As a person of color who loves fantasy, I'm sooo glad to see a black fantasy writer be so successful. Although I don't discriminate when comes to fantasy writers. I love fantasy no matter who writes it, but Evan Winter is simply INSPIRATIONAL to me. Another Black Author is Danielle Paige who's written all series of Wizard of Oz based books. She's the Author of Dorothy Must Die. ... Much love to Danielle Green for this interview... Cool beans.. 😎😎❤
I picked up Rage of Dragons on your recommendation, dropped everything else I was reading and blew through it in three days. It's an amazing book, especially when you consider it's a first time author! So glad you're doing an interview with Evan.
same
I read it about 3 weeks ago and blew through it in 3 days. I was blown away that this is from a first time author. And I was also sad that I have to wait a while for the next book and the one(s) following that one.
I just did it in 2 quarantine days!
Clearly any published author is going to be a pretty bright human being, but Evan Winter is also exceptionally articulate in a longform interview, which is very impressive. On the strength of how he put forward his ideas I'm keen to check out his book. Daniel Greene's reccomendation has all but sealed the deal.
It's the less " rambling" interview on this channel, with maybe Paolini.
Thé answers are straightforward, clear, and very well argumented.
Evan is such an amazing writer, so stoked that you landed this interview.
Whoah, so this happened! Was really happy to see it in my subs box
Evan seems like an awesome guy, can't wait to pick up the book. Also, great interview Mr. Greene.
He has the same name as me, so he must be awesome! :D
From the Zambia, plays league of legends, reads books Jade City and Guy Gabriel Kay, genuinely a good guy. Love this guy!
Rage of dragons, currently sitting in my tbr, about to be put at the top of the pile. Great interview, Evan seem like a great dude too.
It's so refreshing to have a reviewer be so profoundly prepared to interview their subject. Not just the questions being asked, but that you deeply understand the books of theirs you've read that you can meet them at these topics like you were a friend of theirs that was part of their writing process.
Rage of Dragons was one of the fastest books I have ever devoured, it's so cool that you got this interview Daniel.
Evan trying to contain his excitement while revealing that he's been approached for adaptation made my day.
Love that he mentioned Guy Gavriel Kay is one of his favorite authors. Now I really want his book.
This book has jumped to the top of my tbr so fast
Also the author seems like such a nice, genuine person
I LOVE "Rage of Dragons" so much! I am an avid fantasy reader, and really got started reading fantasy with the Dragonlance novels way back in the eighties. Robert Jordan, Anthony Ryan, and Brandon Sanderson are my favorite authors, and now I've got a new favorite to add to that list. RoD absolutely blew me away. I love the setting, the characters, and the progression of the plot. It was simply stunning. I am beyond thrilled to hear that he's finished the first draft of book two!
A great fan of this book, definetly one of the all time great novels already, which is spectacular for a first entry. Thank you so much Daniel for this interview you have catapulted to my favourite booktuber.
He reminded me of this quote, "nothing human is alien to me." - oscar wilde. And I agree that we are born basically "good." and we either learn or fail to learn, making bad choices and continuing to make them while blaming the world around us is how we fail to grow, fail to learn, and I see that happening to some people now days. We must change and grow ourselves in order to have a different and better world. Thank you for this interview Evan is amazing!
Just bought elantris! Starting my Brandon Sanderson journey! Thanks to you!
Parth Kulkarni I am in the final book of his Mistborn trilogy. Its fantastic so far. I am just prepping myself to delve into the Stormlight archive which is very highly rated
@@ashutoshb1207 cool! Can you give me your reading order of the cosmere universe please? I am struggling to find it, so many suggestions out there!
@@parthkulkarni3468 If u ask me. Just start with Stormlight then mistborn. The others you can read in whatever order you want to.
I want you to read stormlight because it is amazing and would make you love the cosmere even more, but it is hard to read in the beginning because you will be thrown into random timelines, but you will get it eventually
@@nathansequeira182 sounds cool, thanks!
@@nathansequeira182 Really? Even Brandon says to start with Mistborn and then hit Stormlight. Stormlight is a huuuuuge complicated story and world. It's awesome and I've listened to the Way of Kings maybe 6 times. But Mistborn is a much easier story to follow. And the original trilogy might be the best trilogy I've ever read. I'm curious why you think the opposite order.
Rage of Dragons were on my TBR because of your review. But now because Evan Winter is such a nice guy I want to push it up and read it sooner! And Daniel, you'Re getting better and better with your interviews! Thank you for that!
Superb interview with a guy that comes across as a genuinely brilliant and nice gentleman. Keep up the great work Daniel, we appreciate you and the work you put in.
With Kaladin, a big theme is perseverance. When I read book one especially, I feel very inspired to be more determined in my life. I’m glad there’s an audio book, I grabbed it!! Great interview 😀
Kallidon is a force of nature lol
I am half into the book and I am loving it!
Absolutely loved this book. Can't wait for the next one. This was an amazing interview, thank you.
Just bought the book and am tearing through it. Great interview, Daniel, and great work Evan!
Loved this interview. Oyeah The Rage of Dragons is available in South Africa, will be part of my next book haul end of the year and TBR for next year.
Incredible interview!!! I have the book, moving it up my read list!
Thank you Evan and Daniel!!!
I wish I had started reading fantasy when I was a kid and had so much free time!
Now I listen when I drive, work out, do chores, and shower just to keep up with my hunger for stories.
I'm super glad you're getting notable authors on the channel! I have been here since the beginning, and am so proud to have seen this community grow. Keep up the good work, Dan the Man
Daniel, what a lovely interview! You held incredible space for the author and asked such poignant questions. Evan Winter seems like a pretty incredible person- insightful, kind, encouraging, and a damn good writer. What a pleasure and privilege to watch! Thank you!
Awesome interview Daniel! Can't wait to get the audio book
I love Rage of Dragons, really took the genre of fantasy in a new, refreshing direction for the first time in SUCH a long time. We've needed a break from the Tolkien inspired worlds for nearly a century now.
Great interview! Your love of books especially Rage of Dragons truly comes through.
My hold for his book at the library just came through and this interview has gotten me even more excited to start reading!
Wonderful interview I will be getting Mr.Winters book. Thank you
I love Evan's smile and his take on things.
Damn it Daniel it looks like I got to add another book to my read list. Great interview.
This was my favorite book I've read this year as well! I was pumped when I saw this interview. Great job! I love your analysis of books and can't wait for this sequel.
Interviews with authors is great content man, keep it up!
What Evan said about watching youtube or twitch replacing or being the same as watching TV shows hits perfectly home. TH-cam is entertainment. Daniel, you are a great entertainer. And I look forward to reading Evan's books once the series' done ;)
My books is on route today for my door. I am so excited!
Thank you for giving me this wonderful gift of two gorgeous men with amazing minds and delicious voices to begin my morning. Loved this interview and I'll definitely be buying the book. Any way to get it autographed?
Thanks for this, I was considering getting this book. I may wait until the series is done because I read pretty quickly.
Rereadable book for sure, no need to wait
Same here. Reason why I still havent touched The Name of the Wind. Still wondering when i can start reading 😂
If everyone waited till the last book of a series, then the author would have no sales and get dropped by their publisher.
Hello, I just wanted to say that I already bought the audio book after your review Daniel and I loved it so much. Today I bought The lies of Locke Lamora after you recommended it 100 times and I confidently can say that my taste is very close to yours and I will trust you 100% from now on for book recommendations.
It was wonderful to get to know you both. As a writer, I'm fascinated with process and this was great to listen to.
I started reading the audio book, I loved it so much that I called my son, told him about it and then bought him a copy of the book. I can’t wait to discus it with him. 😊
I just finished this book and immediately pulled up TH-cam to see if I could find an author interview. I was psyched to see that YOU interviewed Evan Winter!! Great video as always, Daniel! I loved this book. It was great to learn more about Winter’s background and process. I can’t wait for book 2!
So great you sat down with Evan Winter! I'm currently reading the Rage of Dragons and loving it!! Thank you Daniel for doing this!
Fantastic interview/discussion! This book is definitely next on my list after I finish “Oathbringer.”
Why is it so satisfying to see two people nerd around? This was AWESOME.
So enjoyable to watch! I got the opportunity to read this right when it first came out so it's great to get to hear more of Winter's writing process. I'm so excited to read and review book two next year.
I could listen to Evan talk for hours. He seems so wise and thoughtful.
Wow, I'm so glad I found this while reading the first few chapters of the Rage of Dragons. This just made me look at the book on a more clearer and deeper level. Thank-you Daniel Goblin sir for bringing this quality content.
Evan Winters, you are a very thought-provoking and inquisitive person, I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts particularly on the nature of man and evil.
Great interview! Love the different directions it took, really feel like I know Evan. His book just got bumped up on my TBR.
I bought his book from audible as soon as I watched your review and damn, It is my new favorite! Glad to see an interview from him, hope he joins the ranks of Sanderson and create a mater quality series!
I did the same from amazon! I have been drinking this sweet book in on my way to and from work. It's soooo goood!
Great interview and the discovery of an amazing Author. Thanks ❤️
So obviously my TBR needs to shift after this and vacate the front seat right away. I always enjoy a lot the books you Daniel recommend, and I cannot remember you praising any other book that much! But apart from that, I honestly loved this interview. Evan is such a charismatic and interesting guy, I am now twice as pumped to get the book in my hands :-))
This book is now is on my TBR list! Amazing! Such a well rounded and humble author! Really looking forward to devouring the pages!
around 8:00 i relate 100%, this is how I approach my writing as well, it's inspiring to hear people like him with a similar goal.
Great interview and helped me rethink and define a few things in regards to my own writing. I love how you both unpacked the idea of the "Thesis" and how it relates to the stories told.
Nice to see this happen, I bought it a few weeks back due to the buzz on social media and seriously high rating on Goodreads, and will be reading it in the next couple of weeks. Great interview, your interviewing is great and laid back/friendly style and Evan was so open and a fun interviewee. And fun to see you both nerding out about stuff. Plus his compliments about the channel (and the talk about how great Fantasy Subreddit can be) was great.
Hell yes. I was hoping for this!
I can’t even imagine how cool it would be to read an incredible book and know that your dad wrote it for you.
Wow
I slowed down listening to it on audible because I dont want it to end. Amazing book, starts slowly and builds great. What an amazing new talent.
Great interview. Just got Rage of Dragons on Audible yesterday. Looking forward to getting into it!
Very cool to see your channel gaining popularity like this! I’d imagine Evan Winter gained a lot of fans, such as myself, due to your reviews so thanks man, keep on going
Great interview. And two great books so far by Evan. I did laugh when EW marveled at Daniel having "65k subscribers". Fast forward less than 3 years and Daniel at ~$430k subscribers. Congrats to both y'all dudes
Amazing! 💯 Please I do more of these. I bet you’ll find authors open to interviews like this when they’re on book tour.
Mr. Greene, I am the polar opposite of a WoT fan so it is odd that I like your channel so much...it is terrific content like this that will keep me a loyal subscriber as long as you have a channel.
After this interview and your review, I definitely had to pick this book up and I was not disappointed at all. Tau was a fantastic character, maybe not super likable at times, but you always understood where he was coming from and witnessing his journey was incredible. There's way more to the book than just that, but that was my favorite part of it. Thanks for the recommendation, and I hope that you do some more spoilery, theory type videos down the road because I this is definitely a series that warrants it.
Picked up The Rage of Dragons due to your review and this interview, and I'm so glad I did! One of the most enjoyable reads I've had in a while. Just couldn't put it down.
Fantastic interview, I can't wait to read this book I put it on my list after your review but now I'm really excited
Great interview! I have his book. Can’t wait to get started!
Daniel does a great interview and his reviews are spot on as far as I’m concerned. Thanks Daniel - best Book Tuber ever!
Awesome interview! Evan sounds like such a cool guy. It was cool to get insight on how Rage of Dragons all came together, along with some behind the scenes tidbits.
Evan seems like an awesome guy and a joy to talk to
Evan interviewed you back. So awesome. Great interview, very interesting, engaging conversation’
Absolutely loved this interview! The concepts Evan talked about sounded really intriguing to me, so I just bought the audiobook!!!!
I bought the book because you talked about it, after seeing Evan talk I am even more excited and have to make some time to get to it soon!
mate i cant wait to read this book now ay, it will however have to wait until my wheel of time re-read is done though, i have discovered everything fades to black until the wheel completes it's weaving - but this will be the next book i buy for absolute sure, cheers man.
I hadn't heard of him before but man, do I want read his book now! He is so charming and intelligent and really thinks and cares.
Wow, got so much insight from Evan. Thanks for your marvellous work Daniel! Sanderson next aye? 😉
Fantastic interview! I’ll be reading The Rage of Dragons next month and really looking forward to it!
Love the book, got it the same day u review it. N mi sister keeps asking when the next one is coming every week. She became a super fan
This interview in-of-itself is for me, MORE THAN DEEPLY SATISFYING; it REINVIGORATES!!!
Evan Winter not only wields a fascinating and wonderfully engaging intellect, but I find him genuinely endearing!!
This interview STOKES MY [[ CREATIVE ]] FIRES!!!!
And his book, The Rage of Dragons? Well, let me just say that it's now MOST SECURELY on my _'I _*_*MUST READ_*_ THIS, AFORE I DIE!!!!'_ list!!!
_!!!!TRULY, Daniel: THANK YOU!!!!_
Evan Winter seems like such a wholesome dude. I'm looking forward to reading Rage Of Dragons.
This was a major win Daniel! I can't wait to reward myself by picking up this book this weekend!
Thanks for this great interview Daniel (and Evan) this interview and your review have me tempted to break my “no non-complete series” rule.
Great interview from both of you! I just bought the Audiobook version while watching this. I always like to keep 1 or two Audible credits handy for when a really strong review/recommendation comes my way. Looking forward to the listen!
Just wanted to say that i finished the Audiobook and it was fantastic! I loved this take on a magic system, the narrator was superb, and I really enjoyed the main characters. Mr. Winters did a great job with all the swordplay fight scenes! I probably wouldn't have come across this book without this interview, so thanks! And I eagerly wait for the next Evan Winter novel!
I can't wait to dive into Rage of Dragons! It's next on my to-read list for sure. Great interview ❤️
If I wasn’t sold before, I am now. Seems like such a genuine and well thought guy.
Nice interview. Hope to see more interviews of authors
Enjoyed this book a lot. Ran through the audio book this week. Wouldn't have ever heard of it without this review
I listened to a sample of the Audiobook yesterday . And for those who have read the book . Lets take a moment and realize how good that prologue is.
Absolutely loved the rage of dragons and I can't wait to see how this genius does on book 2
