The new power probe 4 first review in the UK as only available in the USA for now. The power probe 4 is compared to the power probe hook and power probe 3
I'm the same as you, have all 3. I agree re the size of the probe fuse block but when it matters I extend out of the end of it with the banana plug that comes in one of their accessory boxes. Great vid, mines on it's way.
Looks like a great tool, I'm running the power probe 3 and it's a good match for my uses and ability but I can see the new one is definitely much more advanced.
Thanks for the great review I to have been using power probes ever since the vey first power probe device. I liked your review and have ordered a power probe 4. Well done.
My PP4 has the same case "defect" as yours. I was told that is the way it is and the guy on on the Mac Truck where I bought it took it apart for me to show me everything was fine.

The reason the Power Probe IV has 4 wires in the power cable: two of the wires power up the board, this improves accuracy when doing measurements.
Is the AC RMS the same as the power prob 3 when you could turn the AC threshold from 50.0 to .02 and and probe a fan wire and hear it spin through the power probe speaker or if you change the same setting and probed a speaker wire and could hear the music through the power probe speaker?
Richard Cowtails I would not buy the attachments all you need is an 4mm multimeter lead and you can make your own attachments. And for a summary for you I still prefer my power probe 3 and use it daily and only use the 4 as a back up or for some of the features of the tool. If you don't have any probe I would save the cash and buy the 3
Richard Cowtails so the 4 doesn't justify being twice the price ? I don't have any electrical diagnosis tools. if you were in my shoes would you still get the 3 or pop for the 4?
I have seen a lot more 3s being used. I'm working on the simplest truck ever made. Chevy c10. But I have an 04 gmc and my wife has a 2011 lincoln, so the 4 seemed to have tons of growing room. But the 3 is probably popular for a reason.

nice video man, I'm looking at getting the pp4. I've looked at amazon is it worth the extra 100 bucks to get the attachments?

Use some cheap or fluke leads with this?

I would buy the 3 every time it's a great tool. The 4 works ok but the 3 has a lot more benefits for me.
