I just installed this in the last 24 hours to test it out. I think it's really good and a giant leap in the right direction for the indie / low budget. That's probably an understatement. I'm probably not giving it a fair assessment for its workflows, but after playing around with Spine 2d, I'm probably going to toss up the coin for it instead. I think the SMR rigs discussed here is perfect for a wide audience, so nobody should take what I'm saying as a knock. It is a really 'smart' tool.
Sorry for the slow response. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I usually refine my art so those rough tests were just experiments. I think they were done by the Electric Dog artists. .
This tool has huge potential. Your work looks similar to things I've seen done in Toonboom. I bought the tool a few days ago. Have you been able to make a turnaround rig? If you have any info on how to do this with the tool I would appreciate anything you could share. Thanks.
I've thought a lot about this. We won't be able to create a ToonBoom-type turnaround rig in AnimateCC. The closest we'll get is to intelligently manage 5 fully rigged model sheet poses. If you have any ideas let me know and I'll make a video about it.
I was a beta tester for it. I tried downloading and installing it. There was no place to click on "accept". In the extensions submenu of the window menu, there was no smr helper listed. And there was nowhere it asked for the license key. What steps did I miss?
@@RigTheory Just so that other users do not get confused: Gene had installed v.5 instead of v.6 and that is why he was unable to find SMR Helpers and proceed with activation.
Is there any way to deform a bitmap, as you can in MOHO? I'm guessing not. :( But otherwise, the tools here look really good for puppet animations of all sorts.
Do you really think the learning curve of Moho is that steep? I used it years ago and found it pretty straightforward. Yes it has its' quirks, but all software does.
im trying maya...because its full 3d. this is NOT 3d..its 2d...and the worst thing is that you cant SPIN the character , its always on the same side. that sucks.... too limited.
I found out about this plug-in a few weeks ago, and I installed the free version. I think it has great potential, but it's all very confusing, you can't find step-by-step tutorials, it's very difficult to use. I deleted it and I don't think I'll ever use it until you upgrade it. I will work classic even frame by frame rather than bother with this plug-in.
Hi Valentin. I'm sorry you had trouble getting things going. I had to reach out to the dev's a couple of times at the beginning too, so I know how it is. I created a pretty detailed step by step tut in my latest video.
So its not just me? The parenting is driving me crazy. Symbols randomly jump across the screen, and parenting links break when I'm trying to do a tiny rotation of a limb. Tweens add even more problems. Is this common?
@@funkuncle999 if you're getting all those problems with the Adobe's built in bone tool then i would say that's pretty normal. Adobe's Bone tool is notoriously buggy and can lead to animations falling apart the more you work on them. You can even find some bone tool bug report videos on youtube if you look for it so you know what to try to avoid when working with that tool.
Hi Shawn. That's awesome that you're learning 2D and 3D rigging. I've spent a long time trying to learn it and I still have a long way to go too. My lessons are aimed at intermediate to advanced users, but I will try to cover more of the step by step process in future videos
You are the Best!!!
Thanks man!!

Thanks for checking out the video! I actually agree. Spine is an astounding program that does things I wish AnimateCC could do.
From where u have downloaded...is it free..will it work on mac
😊👏👏🎈🎈🎈 Amazing video, Law! You're the best!
Thank YOU for for an amazing launch!
Hey, I loved the style at 3:20. Do you have more art in this style. I'd love to see it.

@@RigTheory Thank you! Your channel has been very helpful.
hey, amazing plugin, thanks.
may i know the name of the music at 5:20?
The song is "Image is Everything" by Pink Zebra. You can grab it off of AudioJungle.net
Will you please make a tutorial with step-by-step guide of using the plugin with a character (non time-lapsed) ? Thanks
Thank you for checking out my tuts. My next videos will go much further in depth without timelapse.
Im going to get this, one more thing i really want is face rigs
Lip sync and facial rigs- I will try to cover this in depth in the near future!

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for watching
Amazing video, thanks to that one time I opted for the beta I got a great deal at the premium version of plugin 🌚
Nice! Please share your rigs and animation :)
absolutely

Did you uninstall the old, Beta version of the plugin? I couldn't get anything to work until I did a clean install of the newest package.
@@RigTheory I uninstalled it. The results are the same. Are you on a PC? I am on a Mac. Would that make a difference in how the menus look?

for some reason the version im trying to unistall wont get unistalled it says java has an error

Sorry for my late response. Bitmaps can be deformed but the warping isn't intelligent. Useful for hand keyed animation but nothing parented by a chain

Could I pay you to do this for my characters, and i mean a name your price situation
I'm open to that. Can you send me a picture of what your character looks like?
@@RigTheory sure how would you want me to send it
I want buy v6 but I haven’t credit card. Can I buy with payoneer?
