KT-R1 is clearly more powerful, but anbernic's build quality is unmatched and it's guaranteed that anbernic will have a more powerful device out soon once they find the right chip for higher demanding games for ps2 and Gamecube.
only person to actually make a video on my dilemma! thanks so much! i guess i will save money until there exists a console with looks like white kt r1, but can handle till games switch
Thank you for the Video been looking for a video like this for a while now. was gonna make one myself if no one did it by time mine came in. kinda wish I got the analog up top version for mine
If you looked beyond the exterior material, The KTR one is actually the more premium quality of the two. The metal is nice but it gives off a very false message. The feel of the console is premium, Not the build quality
This video was made in July 2023, you will have to check the current price. I have clearly mentioned that the price for the KT-R1 varies depending on the options you choose. More ram, more space in SD card and metal edition will cost you more. Hope it helps.
I was concerned on the rg405 trigger buttons reliability given that those are micro switches and a lot of users reporting them not working sooner o later, maybe the kt r1 has better trigger butons? Anyone knows?
Among these 2, I like the dpad on the anbernic rg405m better, but the dpad of kt-r1 doesn't have any diagonals issue. Just that I prefer rg405m better. (Personal opinion, which doesn't mean kt-r1's dpad is bad)
@@BigRetroStudio wouldn't that be why that device ran smoother? Because the 405 is only a 4gb unit. Wouldn't a fairer comparison be the 4gb spec instead?
Thanks for the support! I haven't tried streaming on KT-R1 yet, but after the Gamma OS update on the rg405m, it is excellent 👌🏻 especially the key mapping is fixed for Android games and it now recognizes L2 and R2 buttons which were not previously working in stock os while streaming/remote playing for Xbox or Playstation.
@@BigRetroStudio thanks for the reply, with the rg405m, which has a 480p screen, does that affect picture quality at all when doing remote play? Do you get top and bottom letter boxes? And how is the image clarity when the game stream host plays at higher resolution?
Its a game console, 405 looks like a wallet maried a cellphone ,10/10 times i would lift KT-R1 to my hands . but.. ktr1KT-R1 is not on ali so to get it without customs doubling the price is impossible :(
@@BigRetroStudio I ordered the Retroid Pocket Flip 16 bit colour variant that just cleared customs and a Retroid Pocket 3+ Metal iteration because metal. 😉😁👍
The Handheld Comparison of the Year!
🙂
I went with the 405m - Gamma OS with the different performance modes is pretty nice 🔥
Love the look of the kt r1. Love your reviews dude. (Headstrong 🤘)
😎🤘🏻

Definitely! Let's hope for the best 😎👍🏻
theyve never updated a chip
if anbernic pick the snapdragon gen 2, it will be game over for everyone haha.
I went with RP3 plus.
The MIG flash carts for switch makes me crave for switch lite.
Very good review mate, wrll done. Thanks.
I hope we get Gamma OS on KT-R1.
I'm glad you enjoyed 😎
I wish the KT-R1 is available in the Philippines w/ pre-installed games..
Check with gogamegeek.com and see if they can deliver to your location.

It's insane how powerful it is man!!!
🔥💯

Hey just wondering how is the dpad feel between the two? Would you say 405 is better or KTR?
Yes, rg405m has one of the best dpad right now in the market. 👌🏻
Better D-Pad, but it is _below_ the left analog stick...
Thankfully the RG405V is coming out with a more symetrical layout.
Subscribed for the intro alone
😎👍🏻
Awesome info and editing!
🙌🏼
If I had to choose between the RG405M and the KTR1, I would choose the KTR1.
If you looked beyond the exterior material, The KTR one is actually the more premium quality of the two. The metal is nice but it gives off a very false message. The feel of the console is premium, Not the build quality
Great insights ✨️👍🏻
wait but one cost around 180 and the other about 300... am I right?

KTR1 is giving me Dreamcast vibes
I was concerned on the rg405 trigger buttons reliability given that those are micro switches and a lot of users reporting them not working sooner o later, maybe the kt r1 has better trigger butons? Anyone knows?
Everything is still working for mine.
Do you like the DPAD of the KTR1? I've heard it's not as good

The lack of HDMI out is quite a blow. I assume it’s not possible to output the display to a TV wirelessly? (I’m pretty clueless about such things.)
You can do screen mirroring, but it is not great unless you stand close to the TV. Otherwise, there will be frame dip and stuttering.
@@BigRetroStudio in that case, maybe connecting a wireless controller, then setting the device next to the TV is a possible substitute.
@dauntless0711 Yes, you can try that option.
What is the ram spec on this kt-r1 that you have?
6 GB
@@BigRetroStudio wouldn't that be why that device ran smoother? Because the 405 is only a 4gb unit. Wouldn't a fairer comparison be the 4gb spec instead?
I think it's because of having a more powerful chip, plus the ram too.
OMG!! thank for comparison
😎👍🏻
Since you have both, what do you prefer? Having the DPAD on top or bottom?
I prefer on top, but I'd make an exception for rg405m because of its overall compact size.
Great review i love my 405m and now i want the other one thanks man lol
😎👍🏻
Great video, how does the game streaming experience differ between the two? Using moonlight/sunshine when doing in-house streaming?

Performance-wise kt-r1, build quality wise rg405m

KT-R1 looks amazing
🔥
Thank you!

One important comparison point:
RG405m - ships immediately
KTR1 - ships “next week”
🙂👍🏻
I take the larger screen
Kt r1 isn’t it better?
Performance-wise, yes.

KTR1 has serious build issues. It's a pass for me lad.
