The whole album is a collections of songs he choose from 100's of songs Songwriters offered him and he choose the one's that he wanted and could be put together to tell a story. The album tells the story of someone falling in love getting the girl and then losing the girl. He's written a number of songs already but not in English and he wanted to try singing complete songs in English. He also wanted to the experience of working with different Producers he's not worked with before and ask for a suggested list of Producer's who might be willing to work with him. Love how BTS as a whole and with the solo work get to choose what what they do and who they want to work with real Artist Freedom.

All BTS albums, as a group or solo, are concept albums, with tracks in storytelling order and lots of meaning, plus many albums are in sets based on storytelling themes. This album doesn't have particularly deep hidden meanings (which is unusual for BTS) but the concept is the progression of a romantic relationship, from first flirtation to deep love and devotion, to heartbreak.
If you listen to the album Golden in order, it tells the story and development of a relationship. Starting with a crush and, in this case, ending with a breakup. I really like BTS, but I am mostly a Jungkook fan. It's a bit of a taboo in the ARMY fandom, but I genuinely have fallen in love with JK's voice. It's how I got into BTS, noticing of his voice in particular. I have spent so many hours watching his livestream just to hear him sing. And it's not like he has this outstanding, big voice that forces people to pay attention. He has a pretty subtle, adaptable voice. It's just a personal preference, but there is just something about Jungkook's singing that enthralls me.
English is not their first language, except for one member ( RM the groups leader. He was the only one fluent in English. 5 years ago the other 6 members struggled with speeches and comments in English. Including Jungkook, we all call him JK. They have worked hard to bridge that language barrier. They are proud of their heritage and language as they should be. But we so appreciate their hard work, that has brought us songs to enjoy like these. Because through our own language, we can feel even more of the emotions they are trying to convey. They have always mixed both languages, with most of their songs being in Korean with a dash of English here and there. But this is a gift we are loving.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊

Somebody did write it for him but he was super sad and somber for this whole concert because it was the last concert before he went into the military he held it free as a way to say see you later to Army no despite what some Army like to think I'm sure he has gone through a big break up or 5 in his life. then again that's none of our business but I do know for this particular showcase he was sadder then usual
I love all of them but jungkook stands out to me too because of the same reason as you said..when he sings you could immediately understand the emotions behind the song even if you don't necessarily read the lyrics
Hi ! Nice to meet you! In answer to your question about "sad", no, he wasn't as far as the music goes. He said in an in-depth interview that this album wasn't autobiographical. He wanted to show the arc of a relationship from falling in love (Seven) to commitment (Standing Next to You) to a sad decline into breakup. This is his talent. A pure JK song might be Euphoria, live at Wembley. However this night he WAS especially sad. He knew, but his fans didn't, that he'd be in the military in just a few days. For JK to leave away from his beloved fans was the saddest thing in the world for him. That he did this show without breaking down completely shows his professionalism.

You should really look into the rap line, I wasn't into rap until I got into BTS, angry and motivational 😈 maybe start with the cyphers 👍 Also I think you might like Jimin's Set Me Free pt2 (pt1 was actually by Suga). 💜

@JasoDip Although he didnt write any of the songs on the album he chose them in a way that the album resonates with everyone during the course of a relationship. Starting with 3D feat Jack Harlow in which the couple havnt yet met and are basically having a relationship over the phone. As the songs progress through the album so does the relationship to the point were they have broken up in the song HATE YOU Then the rest of the songs are dealing with the aftermath of the end of the relationship and coming to terms with it. The ability to convey these songs with so much emotion and conviction as if he was living a past relationship is incredible. He also did the whole album in English and in such a small amount of time. This is an incredible feat in itself as its not his first language. His English is getting better but feels a bit more confident in interviews if there is a translator present for if he wants to explain things in more detail. The album is full of different genres from pop, retro funk pop, ballads, afrobeats, reggaeton etc..
