Well this is one of those times where I could have used some help but I tried and failed then I thought about it and got it up and nailed down. One way or the other that sheet of OSB was going on the wall that day and I figured out how so the old saying is true If first you dont succeed try try again ! LOL This is for sure a how not to do video thats for sure. What would take 2 guys 20 minuets to do ended up taking most of a day for me working by myself. Well if you watched to the end I Thank You and I hope you enjoyed watching. Bandit
Thanks a lot Bandit…I have been thinking about changing the fuel filter housing to fuel filters I can get, and you just confirmed that it can be done…I can get the small filter though Napa store but not the two big ones…hope everything is going well for you…have a great day and God Bless.
Your no Quiter thats for sure. -- way up top w/ your head practicly touching the roof. -- man Its Dangerous doing that alone.-- hope a local shows up to help up top. Good idea Doing a board or 2 sideways like you said it will. toughen that wall up and pretty sure you nailed that fist full board good. It ain't going nowhere . 💪
One thing for sure pulling that sheet of OSB up one handed was no easy task, I had the rope on it so pull up with one hand while the other keeps the rope tight so it dont go back down when I switch hands to pull up again. I got 4 more sheets put up side ways and boy do I hate working on ladders and the vertigo really starts kicking in the higher you go up the ladder. It might take me a little longer to get stuff done but when your a one man show thats the way it goes. Bandit
Man you aint kidding ! LOL If it hadent been for that stupid plastic guard on the extension ladder catching the sheet it would have worked out just fine. But no that 1/8" caught and as I pushed up the sheet the ladder went with it and we all know what happened next ! Go thing my insurance man dont watch this ! LOL Bandit
Great innovation to do it solo! Although I am not quite sure how that first Wiley Coyote stunt did not kill you. In the end, you got the job done and actually got the best parts on video! That is golden! I was going to offer to come and help ya, but I fear between the two of us we all would end up in the hospital! LOL! Hey, keep at her!
The wall sheet would have gone in fine had the sheet not catch the stupid plastic guard on the ladder, Pushed the sheet up and took the extension ladder up with it off its latches and down it all came with me too ! I was a bit sore the next morning but I survived . Thats the hard part about being a one man show you got to figure it out and get it done one way or the other ! Hay at least you get to see the good and the bad cause this aint the rainbow and unicorn channel ! This channel is the Band Aid and methylate show ! Crutches not included ! Bandit
Bandit has it been wet down your way? Or have you started on tillage? Barn projects always take time effort and determination when you're done it will be really nice having the shop enclosed and the barn floor on the shelves. More room to get around and maybe put more equipment or supplies in the barn
The last week of April and up till last Friday has been dry enough for me to get some tillage done mainly the ground by mom and dads house witch is the first time I've been able to get on it and worked up and harrow gadded at this time of year ever . Lots of corn and beans have been planted around me already but of course its all no-till ground thats been no-tilled for years. I couldnt believe how hard the ground was I mean when my vibra chisel comes out of the ground you know its hard ! So pops IH disk I fixed last year got a good work out behind the 1850 this spring. I still have a lot of work to do on the barn wall to be done but like I said in the video I got it to a place I can stop on it and do ground work. The past 4 days we got 1 1/2 inches of rain so I'm out of the field for now and trying to figure out how to post a video of the last 2 weeks and man is it hard to figure out ! LOL But I hope to get a video up tomorrow unless something comes up so be on the look out for it. Bandit
Last year just got so busy I just didnt have time to post anything and now that thing have slowed down some I'm trying to catch up as best I can. I really missed posting and talking with you guys out there and I feel like I'm back in the grove ! Bandit
Bandit….got a question on your long 900…where do you get your fuel filters from….I need new ones for my 910 and can’t find them…thanks for any help you can give me…
Look at A&I products they should have them, They copied my parts book for my 900 and crossed all the numbers from it to new ones they sell. My 900 has had all the fuel filter housings changed over to ones for a MF years before I got it and if I'm not mistaken there the same ones for a 354 Perkins so you might be able to switch housings and the filters over too. At least on these we dont have to worry about an oil filter for them with it having a centrifuge on it, Tank it off clean it and put it back on it and it dont get much better than that ! Other than fuel filters about all the filters on it can be taken out and cleaned and reinstalled again and I will say its pretty simple to maintain it and thats a lot cheaper than most all other tractors ! Bandit
This was not the way I figured this would go but it did and as gunny would say boy you got to adapt and over come the problem at hand so after a few minuets of recuperation and thinking about it I came up with a new plan and it worked ! When you work by yourself most of the time well you just got to get creative to get the job done. I had a good cold one when I got home that night cause I needed to calm my nerves a bit, Wobble pop for the win ! Bandit
Where there's a will, there's a way. A guy can usually figure out creative ways around things if he really thinks it through. I thought you got hurt when you fell and that sheet of plywood fell on you. Thankfully, it didn't seem that you were hurt.
Thank You Wayne, When you work alone sometimes you just got to get creative and get the job done and this was definitely was one of those times. Bandit
Now that its done..it took to much effort....a forklift ..a pallet on the forks..and a ladder to reach the pallet to safely stand on..pluse less like to get hurt and safe the pleasure back...just a thought.
The biggest problem is getting anything to the wall but I've gotten the wall project to a point where I can stop on it for the time being and get other stuff and projects done. I hope to get in the field soon so I'm stopping on the wall build for now. I have some gravity wagons that are 10 feet tall so I can built a platform on top of one and work off it to finish the wall when I get time. I really hope to get the other side cleaned out so I can work from both sides when I finish it. Bandit
@@craigh3381 I was a little stowed up the next day but not enough to really slow me down but I did take it a little easy the next day as I did a lot of tractor riding ! LOL When your a one man show sometimes you get into some sketchy stuff trying to get stuff done and you got to get a little creative to get something done. Most of the time if I got hurt it was at work but every how and then I got hurt on the farm but I know why this failed so spectacle, Dump piece of plastic at the top of the ladder ! One broke off years ago and the other well this what caught the sheet and pulled the ladder off the catches and thats when gravity took over and we know what happened next ! But it did make for a good video ! LOL Bandit
Well as they say ware there is a will there is a way! There is always a plan B C D and so on cause you got to get it done so you set your mind to it and get it done ! When your a one man show you learn to get creative in how you get things done they aint no one to help you ! Bandit
I am afraid I would have run the shelves all the way to the other wall, and had a place to stand to complete the task of sheeting the top of the wall. But who knowa.
I built them to add onto them and more than likely I will. The first 16 feet is filling up fast so I'm going to need more. The top shelf is 2 foot wide so I can stand on it to work on the wall but the vertigo I have it makes getting up off the ground kind of hard to do. But I did get 4 more sheet up today not completely nailed or screwed down yet but I got as much as I could before I had to get down before something bad happened. The older I get I really dont like ladders ! Bandit
The older I get the more I realize how much I hate ladders ! Having vertigo now I really dont like get off the ground like I did when I was younger, Ware I used ti work we had 60 foot tall SS tanks and I was all over them all the time with no problem and now I couldnt do that if my life depended on it ! I can get help after everyone is off work so most of the time I got to figure out how to do it myself and most of the time it works without a hitch but every now and then well you see what happens . Bandit
