I ran right to my Dollar Tree to see if they had it in black and they didn’t, but I did get two of the brown and they were 2 for a $1!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 can’t wait to try it! Thank you Heather!!
My niece got me some of the vinyl from Dollar Tree about 2 years ago and I have made several zipper pouches to hold my sewing supplies.....worked perfectly
Thank u Heather I made this and had a hard time finding the leather.. you get a lot of for your money in both the iron on and leather plz send more ideas and it’s a pleasure watching your creations. Thank u from seattle
Thanks for the video. Your instructions were so easy to follow. This was my first time watching you and it inspired me to run out and get the materials. I had to run to 3 different stores but hit the jackpot with the third one. I got white, brown and black "leather" and rainbow, gold, silver, pink, and green glitter. It was all 50 cents each which makes me think they might be getting rid of it. I made mine in white with rainbow lining. I had a heck of a time turning it right side out. It didn't come out as nice as yours, but I am definitely going to try again. I might make it a bit larger for easier turning. Thanks again for the video and the idea!
On any iron on products, I usually don't let it cool completely down. It peels better when it is slightly warm IMO. That are really cute! I may make a few of them!
This was my first video I watched on your channel and had to try it. OMG I love it. I used products that I had Gotten from Hobby Lobby when they were on sale and it WORKED!!! Thank you for sharing
Omg! Brilliant. That's so very cute, and from dollar tree! I'm impressed and running to my dollar tree. Thank you for showing this! Super inexpensive make, cute, and fast!❤
Thank you so much!! The elastic is from amazon!! Here you go: www.amazon.com/dp/B0D3V2F4M1?th=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=heathermayhem-20&linkId=15425db0b7792ef6e86fe1485b02c2b3&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
This video is my.first on your channel. Being in Germany, I do not have a dollar tree, but Tedi, Woolworth and Kik have a creative corner. Iron on vinyl was on my to try out list anyways. Looks like I have to go exploring. This mini bag with slightly different dimensions would be nice to include in the silent stim toy crochet offerings for my Auti families.
@HeatherMay-Hem that's not surprising. They closed all stores in 1997, but I hadn't seen one in 20 years or so. I grew up in the Midwest. We also had Ben Franklin stores. They were kind of like the dollar stores of today.
Very cute. Going to Dollar Tree for supplies is a surprise to me. I have not checked out their craft section, and as you say, some stores have products that others do not carry. Iron-on glitter for the lining is fantastic! I will check out the Dollar Tree here. Thanks
I used the smooth HTV this week on multiple projects, worked great! I also cut out the Bitty Bug Bag from Carolina Little Stitches with the black faux vinyl on my Silhouette on the “leatherette” setting with regular blade, worked PERFECT!! My stores has all the rolls for 50cents, DEF worth the 50cents to me! lol
The vinyl was 2 for $1? That's great. I use a lot of their vinyl for my handbags, pretty good for dollar store vinyl. I dont care for the vinyl from fabric stores because its a little too thick for my machine.
Heather, love the tutorial. Another idea would be to make a glitter pouch with the faux leather lining. Also, the finishing touches were the quality zipper, zipper pull & clip. What did you use to add the clip to the pouch?
@lindaeversberg1646 thank you so much!!! And for sure the glitter on the outside would be so pretty!! I used a 1/2 inch webbing to attach the swivel hook ❤️
Thinking of using the $ Tree FAUX leather for the zipper overlays (I think that’s what they’re called). Especially, if I’m putting one on an inside bag pocket zipper.
I buy a lot of Dollar Tree vinyl, its great, not too thin, not too thick for making bags. I make slouchy totes and drawstring bags with the vinyl. Very easy to sew with
Hi! Just discovered your channel. Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos. BTW where did you get the elastic binding? Looks like something that will work for me. TFS❤
I have been making drawstring bags and slouchy totes with the Dollar Tree vinyl for several years now, works great. When you make your totes with an added lining make sure you trim your side seams if you dont have a heavy duty sewing machine. Also try different presser foots for getting over thicker areas.
Girl!!!! Did the iron on get all sticky and gooey all over your sewing machine? It was like super sticky pink goo all over my machine… and not too easy to come off. A little heads up woulda been nice, lol! 😂 but my pouch came out cute the rest of the vinyl is NEVER GETTING NEAR my sewing area again though. Appreciate the tutorial- as I’m writing this a few days after watching … my inner monologue is reading as I go and it sounds even more backwoods hillbilly than my real voice. Am I the only southerner that gets tickled at the work hillbilly - I love it.
That's cute that works better as a warm peel That's what I do and it peels off with no problem
@kitchen387 thank you!! ❤️❤️
Very nice. You are really creative.
Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you for making me believe I can do zippers!!! You are so fun to watch!!!
You totally can!!! And thank you so much for your kind words ❤️

Oh I love that!!!! Enjoy your makes!! ❤️❤️
I bought two today for a $1, I usually pay attention but not today. Going back tomorrow for more colors and iron on vinyl. Thank you for the tutorial!
My niece got me some of the vinyl from Dollar Tree about 2 years ago and I have made several zipper pouches to hold my sewing supplies.....worked perfectly
So awesome!!
Awesome! I will be going to Dollar Tree and look for the faux leather..
Good luck!!! 🥰
Several of the DTs in my area have the faux leather and vinyl marked down to 50 cents 😊
Wonderful project! I never thought of using the vinyl as a lining.
Thank you so much!! ❤️

Thank you so much!! ❤️ definitely going to try to peel before it cools all the say next time
Very nice, you are so talent💕
Thank you so much!! ❤️
I've actually used the faux leather to make a cross body bag and I like it. Use woven interfacing to strengthen main body pieces
I love that! It's much better quality than I thought it would be! ❤️
I had a little bit of difficulty with the pink glitter but the rainbow one worked very nicely! I am going to try the iron foil next. 😊
The foil works great too!

Update: I found the pink iron on, but no faux leather. Going to check another dollar tree tomorrow. Can't wait to make this.
Thank you so much!!! I hope you found some goodies at your dollar tree! ❤️❤️

Remarkable outcome with that shiny material.
Thank you so much!! ❤️
I also bought some stick-on paper glitter pieces will that work for the lining. I bought it by mistake it was next to the iron on.
Ohhhhhh I've never seen that!!
That is great! Glad I found you

Welcome to the channel!! ❤️❤️
You have Woolworths over there? I miss those stores here in the states! I went shopping with my Mom in them decades ago!
@@vickiel914 yes, they were about to go bankrupt a decade ago, but somehow did not and are in every medium sized town.
@vickiel914 oh I've never heard of that store actually!

Very interesting I need try do glitter little bags for granddaughters Christmas stocking ; how cool Thank for share cute ideas and pretty shock too ❤

I love this. Can you share where you got your zipper pull from? It makes the pouch look expensive.❤
@dlp1044 thank you so much!! Yes here is a link to the zipper tape and pull combo: amzn.to/4eRE9Vc

For HTV that is not peeling easily is more than likely a cold or warm peel. I’ve used HTV for making wallets, super convenient for projects like this!
@MarilynDIAZDESIGNS others said warm would work better so I'll be trying that next time!
So cute! The Dollar Tree I have to drive a ways to, had the rolls 2/$1.00

Any suggestions on where I can find tex 35 polyester thread?
Yes!!! Here is where I get mine: geekyhardware.com/collections/sewing-string?page=3&grid_list=grid-view

Thank you so much!! ❤️
Don't let your iron-on cool completely before peeling, it'll be so much easier to get the clear sheet off.
Omg!!! I'll have to try it!! Thank you!
What size rollover elastic do you use

I got my tank foot on Amazon!
Omg! They have them!! That's awesome!
I’m going to try this but have the sparkly on the outside
I'm sure it will come out beautiful!! ❤️❤️
Why are you using elastic to bind
Hi!! Holdover elastic is often used as binding 😀 it's super easy to manipulate over edges and creates a nice finish
I wanted glitter side out
You could definitely do glitter side out ❤️
It did say iron a bit again before pealing
@@mandypaul7263 yea def helps when it's warmer!
Cute! But I am surprised you put the glitter on the inside instead of outside.
