Too bad you couldn't fully see the Matterhorn that day because of clouds, the place is really famous because of that mountain and its unique shape.
Someone from Alaia Bay should've come along to show and explain a thing or 2 about the region.

What's wrong with that right hander halfway through the wave there's that horrible crumble that's destroying the wave?

It's some kind of device that is attached to the bottom of the pool. It breaks the wave to create a takeoff for the air section so you can do jums and such. At the end when they do barrels, the thing is no longer there.
