    If you're thinking about purchasing the free to use sounds library, I highly recommend it after purchasing it for my own projects. Clean recordings, a lot of variety and it's good to support indie's.

    Maybe my H1N is defective, but I have found it to be fairly noisy. I am generally recording quiet subjects in natural areas, such as birds in the distance or a gentle rain, but there is a noticeable preamp hiss anytime the gain gets over 5.

    • @droidzhunterz6861
      @droidzhunterz6861 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine has the same problem if it wasn't for that audible hiss the recordings would be usable.
      It is a very cheap unit for what it potentially can do, so it might be down to luck, getting a fully working unit.

    Very helpful video ! Well over a year ago I've been watching videos of a guy who is hiking and camping in the wild places, his adventures was one thing but the quality of sounds of nature in his videos was something what really made me watching his work with real pleasure. Since then I became very passionate about field recording, however after finding out what equipement he is using I though... well... maybe one day... recorders, microphones and all equipement worth thousands of dollars/pounds. While doing my research I found your channel and been following since.
    Few days ago after watching couple times some of your latest videos I finally decided to order my first recorder - Zoom H1N, I am very excited to get into my new hobby and I have to say it wouldn't happen without your excellent content !! Thank you !
    PS. Videography on your channel is now at the same high standard and quality as sound effects you are recording ;)

    When you've got good sound levels, almost any set of mics will perform well. What do you think of the new TASCAM Portacapture X8 that was recently announced? Larger-diaphragm mics with 32-bit float recording seems to be a nice option for low-volume nature ambiances.

You will have a great audio recorder for ambience sound wireless and you we be free to flight with your cam without interfering on yhe audio quality or level as soon you are moving with your camera. Like, strategicly place the zoom h1n conected with wireless transmiter mic on the subject are you recording (People, objetcs etc) and you are free to move around with your camera without interfering on the audio level or quality. Hi ihr beiden. I found your channel and loved it instantly. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I tried out the H1N by myself recently. I like the lightweight and small size, but unfortunately I always have very much white noise in my records of ambient sounds when recording nature sounds like birds. Especially when I plugin headphones (ATH M30x) the noise is extremely dominating over the sound I want to record. Did I just got a bad device or is this normal?
    Anyway love your work and purchased your sound library! 👍🙂
