I was at this concert. Still to this day, the best concert i was ever at. What a day, what beautiful memories. The flowers were supported by Deacon Blue, The Black Velvet Band, Tracy Chapman and Aswad. What a line up. Had just finished my leaving cert a few months before. The best of times
It would be great to to see the full concert especially with that fantastic line up you mentioned, all my fav bands, seen HHF twice in Newcastle upon tyne, fantastic live band, i took my nephew who was only 14 at the time and he loved them.
I was there too... same time in life...deacon blue were flat, lifeless... a real flop... Tracy Chapman solo, no support.... Aswad, low tempo reggae... it was a stadium gig for crying out loud... nearly left, but MAN ! They rocked . One of the best concerts I ever attended.(And they rocked again when supporting INXS at Wembley years later)
What an underrated Band. They are fantastic. Very talented. God bless Hot House Flowers for giving us so much pleasure with their fantastic music. They will be remembered for years to come
Thank you so much for posting this! I grew up watching this VHS. This band showed me very early on what it means to be a band of musicians. Real music. Absolutely fantastic!
Thanx a lot , merci beaucoup !!! i was at many concerts, seing Rory Gallagher, Bob Marley, Zappa, so many... but them Hot house Flowers, only get them on records since late 80's.. what a beautiful moment here ! I raise my glass of...heart ! Let us keep great vibes and hope through this strange days of 2021... ! Sláinte !
Gypsy Fair is my fav song of all time and my 3 daughters and all my 7 grandkids also love the song so much, when were out driving they all ask for Gypsy Fair, this song will be in memory till i die.
Wow, been a Hothouse Flowers fan for a long time. Saw them a few times in small venues in NH in the States. Could walk right up to them and have a conversation. It was amazing. They couldn't have been more down to earth and engaging. Still don't understand why they weren't as big as U2 in the States. Such talent. What a great show posted. Thank you!!!! Hope to see them in Ireland. Bucket List!
Astute observation. I have my own theory as to why HHF did not reach the heights of U2, when clearly they coulda, shoulda, woulda. The answer is Paul McGuinness, U2's very shrewd manager of some 30 years. That and the Edge, who is the only musical genius in U2.
I remember this one. They were so great, and still are! Hothouse Flowers have got it. They have real soul. So happy to see this concert, them in their prime, once again. PS.. Hope they are gonna tour the latest new album. It is a cracker. Much much love and thanks x

Thanks for posting this. One of my fave bands. Great quality footage. I've seen them a few times, never disappointed. I saw them at Glastonbury '89...the crowd to see them was huge, & they were amazing. Another time at the same festival I was behind Liam. We were watching 'The Wailers' he was with a couple of friends & a small child. He really got into the wailers & began to dance......& woah did he dance ......like he was entranced, just incredible!
@Terry O’Neill what an excellent recording you shared with us. I enjoyed it so much, thank you. ❤️ Impressive performance from the band. And of course the fantastic guest musicians too. 🎶 🎻 🎷 🎶
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL A WONDERFUL PERFECTLY MASTERPIECE OF A GREAT FINEST CONCERT I ONLY WISH THAT I COULD'VE BEEN THERE AT THAT TIME AT LEAST!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WONDERFUL VIDEO LOVE AND RESPECT!!!
Liam O'Malovely as I call him, such a voice, see the Hots a number of times, still one of the best live bands have ever seen and seen a lot. Am going to see him and Peter next weekend live, cannot wait.
