      @@crossbearer6453 I humbly beg you not to do that... I understand the wish to bring our protestant brothers and sisters back into the fullness of the faith, but if we insult their intelligence by calously suggestung they never pondered the legitimacy of the Holy Catholic Church, it only pushes them further away. Let them come to us whenever they are willing to have a respectful convo and, in the meanwhile, pray and fast for their conversion. Also learn from them in things where they are usually better, like knowing their Bible verses... Cheers! :)

    • @crossbearer6453

      @@nmpltleopardi I’m not insulting their intelligence by asking a question
      And what you are asking is to coddle them
      The original commenter says he/she doesn’t hate Catholics so I was asking if he/she understands Catholicism or simply thinks all faiths are legitimate
      It’s a harmless question
      As for the other, there are a lot of Protestants that don’t know much or misinterpret much about Catholicism
      And here is the thing I’ve realised about a lot of “ friendly Protestants “
      They are much like friendly atheist, they are around you so they can befriend you and then make you change your faith to theirs
      I saw this on a Protestant channel
      It made a lot of videos praising Catholics then before long his true motive was revealed

    • @crossbearer6453
      @crossbearer6453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nmpltleopardi this is no conspiracy
      Some will be friendly and you would think they respect you but behind your back they think you are not saved and want to save you
      Like friendly atheist that think in their mind that you are delusional
      Not all atheists and Protestants do this of course
      And it’s actually a strategy found in the Bible to help convert people
      I’m simply a skeptic
      And personally I’m still a Protestant pondering Catholicism by the way

    • @nmpltleopardi
      @nmpltleopardi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@crossbearer6453 I apologize for the condescending tone of my 1st reply. I still maintain that we have to be a little more careful when it comes to bringing up the fullness of the faith, but you got a point too in that your OG query was tame if a little negligent. However in your reply to me, you kind of confirmed my point by collectively throwing all protestants under the bus for something you should respect, as you were also guilty of it. You were being friendly in order to bring our protestant brother into our faith. And there is nothing wrong with that. I don't think one should pamper their religion but you have to have tact and tread carefully because a lot of them are open to the idea of conversion but are still looking for excuses to stay in their camp. And one excuse they will hold on to is the perception of the hearts of catholics. That's why offering them rosaries is so important. I respect your position tho and mean no harm :) EDIT: Of course I believe any attack against ou Lord's Catholic Apostolic Church should not be tolerated by us and vigorously and unceremoniously repelled

    I just drove out to the St Benedict Center in Still River(Harvard) Massachusetts this past December to visit their place and they have a gift shop where they sell all kinds of metals and crosses and missals and all things religious especially for Saint Benedict and I got myself a nice Saint Benedict medal and a Saint Benedict cross and I got it blessed before I left.
    The sisters and Brothers there a called The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and boy oh boy was it a pleasure meeting the Sisters and the Brothers at the St. Benedict's Center.
    They have a Latin Mass every day at a Chapel that the Brothers built themselves back in 1973 and during the Mass when the Sisters were singing they literally sounded like angels from heaven.

    I have found Revelant Radio a major blessing. I also do reference the Catechism of the Catholic Church often. The other book I had not heard of but will look into. Have you ever looked at the book Divine Intimacy? It is a Carmelite Devotional book. For my devotions and prayers I use the Catholic Book Of Prayers, the 1962 Roman Catholic Daily Missal, Divine Intimacy and the Douay Rheims Bible. I have begun to understand Carmelite Spirituality and meditation. I have been reading St. Teresa of Avila, I am currently slowly going through her book entitled The Interior Castle. I am a Protestant who has embraced many Roman Catholic Faith practices. My journey is still on going, but started in March of 2015 after witnessing a shooting and suffering from intense PTSD attacks. I really am enjoying your channel and really like your resolve and strong conservative convictions. Blessings upon you Amber Rose.

    Hi! I “ discovered” you via “Pints With Aquarius”. You speak very fast ( is that the coffee?) but I find you very refreshing to listen to. As an 80 something Catholic grandfather, newly returned to the faith after a long mixed up hiatus, I’ve noticed a shocking loss of piety among younger Catholics today. I owe this to the absence of nuns at the elementary school level. Since this is clearly not a problem with you, I wonder what your educational experience was and whether the obvious piety you exhibit is newly found or something you’ve been taught growing up. As to your love of the Latin mass, I mostly miss Latin hymns and high and solemn high masses. However, I do find the vernacular mass does bring a new level of participation to we older Catholics particularly if prior to this, 10:28 10:28 we were not used to using the missal. Anyway, after participating over the past year in daily mass, I find myself much more positively inclined to the vernacular mass. What I miss more than Latin, is the altar rail, because Communion in the hand just isn’t as pious as receiving on the tongue. In any case, God bless you and your efforts.

    I I love your products and your enthusiasm!!! Im also a lover of catholicism! Just a gentle fact ck. that may have been a tong twister...the Reformation was around 1517 or there abouts...and Martin Luther proposed to remove books...later in the mid 1600's (not in the 60's) Reformers pushed to remove some books (I think in the new testament) hey, but listen do your own research. I only know that stuff because of my studies in art history and how popes commissioned the majority of art back in the day. But good stuff on your channel, young lady! Again, do your own research! I'm going by memory right now.

    Only because I’m learning and am ignorant on the subject. How does the Church feel about people who disagree with a current Pope? How can the Pope break with Church teachings or norms? Do they have the authority to do so or is it just his interpretation? Sorry about all the questions. I guess I could DM you here or the other social media I follow you on.

    • @TheReligiousHippie
      @TheReligiousHippie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for the questions! I know it can seem overwhelming, some are difficult to explain but it's okay to disagree with the Pope's private beliefs. We have Dogmas and Doctrines as Catholics, so Dogmas cannot be changed or challenged (immaculate conception, Jesus' resurrection etc...), Doctrine can be adjusted but there's a strict process of doing it. If you haven't already checked them out, go to catholic answers on youtube or their website in general and they can basically answer any question you might have (just in case I don't see your questions) also the catechism of the catholic church and canon Law are great things to read and its free online!

    Norcia, in Italian it is so, I think in English it sounds "Nursia" but perhaps it is more correct "Nursee".... It's strange to hear the Italian names pronounced in English, a bit funny ... because it's completely another thing... Your pronunciation of Scholastic instead is excellent ... The apps are a great idea, there are not many in Italian of Catholics, I then follow the extraordinary Roman rite, with the Latin Mass and the calendar until 1962 so I find very few resources, almost nothing. Great video!

      That's a tough question, especially these days. As with most things the best help you can find is often the saints. Do you have a favorite saint? Isabel is a variation of Elizabeth. A famous saint Elizabeth (besides the Blessed Virgin's cousin) is St. Elizabeth of Hungary - a princess who became a 3rd order Franciscan in 1228 and established a hospital for the sick after the death of her husband. She had made a vow to obey her confessor in all things, and he commanded her to send her children away, which had to have been crushing for her as she was a devoted mother. She would be a good saint to ask for help with your mother.

      It's a powerful weapon against demons and demonic activity. St Benedict is and was feared by the demons to the point where they would flee from the very sight of him. St Joseph is known as the terror of demons but St Benedict isn't that far behind him.

    Thoughts on scapular

    • @rtyria
      @rtyria 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many scapulars. The brown scapular is best known. It was given to St. Simon Stock by Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the 1200's. One side of the brown scapular shows Our Lady holding the child Jesus and giving the scapular to St. Simon. The other side has a quote: “Whosoever dies in this garment shall not suffer eternal fire.” Brown scapulars are supposed to be made of 100% wool. Most Carmelite websites have information on the scapular.

    You forgot a very important book, a Daily Missal, either Traditional Latin, or Novis Ordo, (So that if a time of persecution, you could provide a priest with a Missal so he could offer Holy Mass if he doesn't have a missal, but there are bread and wine available for him.) as they are loaded with Scripture readings, and prayers... If I was limited to taking one book with me, it would be my "Daily Roman Missal," (Novis Ordo) as it has an index to the scripture readings in the back.. and a huge "Treasury of Prayers." If just having a small library of Catholic books, it would be a 1. Catholic Bible, both 2, and 3. Latin, and Novos Ordo Missals, 3. Catechism of Catholic Church, 4. "Blessed Be God" that is basically a traditional prayerbook, 5. My Tertiary's Companion OFS Franciscan.
