I'm pretty sure Megumin killed the second most with her explosion but Darkness couldn't hit anything and Aqua was useless. Yeah, Kazuma's party is not balanced at all.

I like that from when Kazuma says "Hey, let's lower the bar a little." it is essentially a 1 to 1 recreation of the scene from episode 2 of season 1, except that it starts from Megumin's POV.

i love these kind of prequel spinoffs that lead into the main story. just gives a sense of "how this all started" kind of feel as the last episode is the start of their meeting in the og series

Technically Aqua didn't lied about "cozy and harmonious", in fact that's the team dynamic outside adventuring, the only clear exception is the classic Kazuma and Aqua's fights.
Honestly, this reminds me of how Better Call Saul would integrate scenes from Breaking Bad and it just works so well if you end up watching both shows.
Just seeing this makes the LN ending even more deep. Like whenever you enjoyed and finished a good media it just leaves you wondering What happened after? , that sense of existentialism is deep, too many questions.

If there's enough demand, the anime staff might do a Darkness' prequel by just fleshing out Darkness backstory inside the light novels. I wonder how that would go because like Megumin, Darkness isn't a complex character, so somebody will need to be the Yunyun and carry the show, in this case it will be Chris,. For me it would be great because she's one of my top favorite characters in the franchise (sharing second place with Megumin) and something really needed after being relegated to being a secondary character in the Konosuba anime.
I've read the explosion spinoff and I definitely did not expect that sooo much material could be compressed in just 12 eps, No major parts were missed either

KonoBakuen, a sequel series that takes place during later Konosuba, Dust spin-off, Vanir spin-off, the non-canon spin-off based on the gacha and the idol OCs, and the author plans on writing a spin-off on a character in Season 3 (one of the top 5 most popular Konosuba characters) after Combatants is finished or so. The series is currently finished at 17+ LNs and Season 3 (2024) will cover LN 6-7, unless it’s more than 12 eps.
We all know what happens after this scene, Kazuma tries to pull her eye patch out, they get attacked by frogs and get covered in frog slime, and megumin try to ruin Kazuma's reputation if he didn't let her join the group
