I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my account password. I love any help you can offer me.
@Mack Gerardo i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Super helpful! I'd love to see more chord melody breakdowns like this one going over a chosen piece. This is so valuable seeing how other players approach this artform.
Rotem, I want to say thanks so much. My jazz teacher heard me playing a bit of this chord melody, and he wants me to start the song doing that by myself as an intro to a band arrangement, making a guitar feature. So I play a chorus as an intro, and then he counts in the band after and he wants me to solo in the song too, its super cool :)
Thanks so much for this. I play guitar until it’s late and I have to be quiet, then I watch your videos and look forward to playing again the next evening
You really appreciate it, I can't say how much we appreciate you teaching us this beautiful arrangement. Thanks so much for your patience. Although most of us can't play like you we love the beauty of the song and the music. You teaching us and giving us the knowledge to play this wonderful song is a gift that we appreciate more than we can say. Thanks so much again
What a gold mine of content! Keep it up man. You're making jazz guitar really accessible. Would personally love for you to take a further look on the standards and talk a little bit about how to solo over the chord changes.
I do appreciate this lesson and how you enjoy what must be, for you, an easier version. I have used it with other sources to find my own way with the beautiful song. I have had a good lesson so sort out some of your iTunes content to pay for and enjoy. Good job.
This is absolutely brilliant, Rotem! I've been struggling to understand some of the basics of jazz and your videos are really opening my eyes to it all. You explain it all in very basic terms and it's fantastic for learning!
You're a fantastic teacher. I've learned a lot from your perspectives on jazz. Hearing your instruction gives insight on how to LEARN what jazz is at the core
Really awesome lesson! I learnt jazz guitar for three years but my teachers made it overly complicated, especially for me as a beginner in this style. Thanks to your video I understood jazz more than I used to do. Thank you :) !
Hi I’ve just discovered your channel and I really appreciate the soft touch and the feeling of your playing ! Cool lesson I hope there is more to come soon!
U wrote in the title "easy" but ur tutorial is rather for advanced players bc I cant find it too consistent chording-wise for a beginner. The cuts in ur video editing also prove it. Thank you, very nice anyways, and yet very useful! 06:16 u say 5 4 5 7 but u play 4547 indeed.
That's beautiful Im going to learn this one tomorrow. Just joined the Patreon and there is so much great stuff on there. Join the Patreon guys its a box of diamonds 👌👌👌
Can you make other videos of standards or latin like Desafinado? It's one of my most favorite songs. I'm a fan from Philippines. Great content Rotem. Thanks
ok first of all i appreciate this so much its a great arrangement i just have some issues with the couple of last chords from that B diminished (which i see you play a Bb dim) till that G9 please explain a little thanks!

This is a great song to begin learning chord melody - it's nice to hear an alternative to Autumn Leaves in this context. You do a nice job in keeping it simple and introducing some harmonic concepts, like the melody note mostly being the 3rd of the chord. Even just the root and 3rd can be so expressive (especially with a touch of reverb :)) ), and is enough to get going before taking the next step to work out inversions etc. Would love to see more of this, it sits nicely between the no theory pseudo-tab approach of some channels (too little) and the full on harmonic analysis of others (sometimes too much). If you haven't already, maybe you could do a video to introduce basic concepts of harmonic analysis, with a recommendation of some good starter standards to apply this approach to? Cheers and thanks!!!
I'm so happy I discovered your channel. I like your approach and personality. This song means a lot to me, it was awesome to find it explained here. Ciao from Italy.
Basically if you know fly me to the moon and autumn leaves you know this tune, that's how I think when I learn a new song. After a few standards you start to notice the similarity, hence why you should practice in all keys 😊 I'm just watching to see if I can steal new ideas 😂
really sweet Rotem. Any arrangements for 3 fingers? I have now and a month wounded my index. I really try for 3 finger tricks to have the full tone but its not easy.....
This is awesome - I checked out some of your videos after your colab', and I think I'll be a regular here now. Calling out the string/fret numbers is probably a little unnecessary perhaps? If people are trying to get their heads around jazz, their ears and eyes should be good enough to figure it out. I reckon it'd be awesome if you just said the notes. There's also a couple little spots where you made a mistake with the finger placements - which might be confusing if people are relying on them (i.e @6:13)... maybe save yourself the trouble and just go with note names (if anything!) Beautiful playing. :)
@@RotemSivanGuitar for me, I think intervals and the relationships between the notes are great - so it can all easily transfer across the fretboard to different shapes, rather than frets and strings which doesn’t transfer (without understanding the notes, you know what I mean?) Some people might find a little pop up box with a chord chart useful - particularly for more unusual chords? As far as learning to play a tune goes - what you did is awesome and I got my head into it pretty fast! Maybe a bit more stuff on the relationships between the chords like tonal centres, key changes, and any substitutions, would be awesome!
Also @9:16 with the chord names - maybe if someone is trying to break through into the jazz world without a lot of theoretical understanding, they may find the difference between what you're saying and what the chart says confusing. Obviously the intervals and chords you're playing DO match both - but the relationship between what you're saying and what the chart reads could be a bit clearer. I'm not trying to pick the video apart for 'mistakes' - but I sure am watching it a lot, it's awesome!
I checked out the ad How To Play Consistently and what a ton of horse pucky. Turns out it is an hour long diatribe designed to BS the watcher into shedding much cash flow.
Thanks for reminding me of this lovely song and the lesson you've so kindly provided. As a young aspiring guitarrist many years ago I learned to love this beautiful song after listening to Baden Powell's rendition. It soon became a learning obsession for me. Thanks for sharing. th-cam.com/video/EpVRI5tTtmc/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this! I needed this for my audition! Now what next? What’s head, improvisation and comp? The guys want me to play one chorus of head, one chorus of improvisation and one chorus of comping. Can you pls explain what exactly it means? They’ve proved a backing track link too: m.th-cam.com/video/MopDZu87Dpk/w-d-xo.html Can anyone tell me what exactly I’m supposed to do here? Thanks in advance!
Why dont you just say the notes you are playing instead of the frets? I think at principle it's easier for guitarrists to know the frets but it will slowly making the guitarrist think more about frets and less about notes, which i think it's as trap
your percussion track is VERY distracting. it sounds like a steam engine in the back of the warehouse that you are in. i honestly had no idea what that noise was when i first watched ur videos... it does not sound like brushes on a snare. love you.
Oh man this is gold. I hope you do this for every standard, lol.
Thanks so much! I wasn't sure if that was helpful 🙏

Hiya! sorry it took me a min. today - my computer was crashing.. is this one helpful??
lol not even a question; you're always helpful
The way you explain even the most intricate concepts is very understandable. It is always helpful to watch you teach!

Hi, this is great. Can you share the backing track? Thanks
Great lesson. I like the backing track in the beginning. Did you make it ? How ?
I did!
Superb!!!

Is there a Tab sheet for this arrangement? I joined the patreon membership but I can't find anything for this song. Thanks!
i just focus to your face expression while you play. i feel jazz here...

Check out his shell chords video. Most of those are 3 finger chords
Watch Django Reinhardt play. The tricks are in your right hand, not the left. All the best.
This was an excellent video plz go over other standards!!!
Will do ❤️
Thank you Rotem. Do you know the portuguese guitar? I would like to know what kind of strings you’re using. Best.
Using Earnie ball
