Thank You! I took my Soul to the dealer to have a leaking passenger headlight assembly replaced. The Service Manager asked me if I was able to use a wrench. He said they'd be happy to do it for $500, but he said, before I spent that much to go home and check TH-cam because it was an easy job that didn't need much in the way of mechanical ability. Yours was the first video, and after watching, I ordered replacements for both sides for $300 from RocAuto. Total work time was less than 10 minutes. Thanks again for the great video.

Thanks a ton for this how-to!! Just as you said, popped out and back in with no problems at all. Literally took about 5 minutes from start to finish to replace my lady's passenger headlight. Thanks again!!!

Thanks - worked like a charm on my 2010 Soul. Took some elbow grease, but within 5 minutes I had the assembly out.

Douglas it will come out. There are only a couple bolts. You need to remove them and then tug pretty hard. I made it look easy because i had already removed it. Your assembly will kinda fit in a slot and that first time removing it you will need to tug hard. What year do you Have?

On the 2016 Kia Soul their just one 12mm capscrews near back on the fender and two 10mm capscrews on the front above the grill. I’m not dune but I plan to move the 12mm capscrews in 1 1/4 inch in on the same plane (I’ll have to drill and tap it) and rotate the headlight out as far as I can and still close the hood. Then use weather striping to hide the modification. Will Masterson

Do you know if it's easy to open the headlight itself? I would like to put it inside a led tube.

PointyCheese I believe so. I've only worked on 1 and we did remove the front bumper but that was because we were modifying it

I guess it depends on the vin number I had to take a number 8 bolt off inside of wheel well and pop cover off to access a 10 mm bolt that was threaded into my light assembly holding the rear corner of light assembly. It still; didn't take long. So if you do as what is said in the video look in the fender well and remove the 8 mm bolt the rest of the cover is held in by clipping it in place pull it as loose as possible ant then on the back side of the assembly there is a 10 mm bolt to remove. At least that was my experience

+34muggsy34 did you disengage first. twist up and then pull out. I've removed from dozens of souls without issues other than the 14-15 models

Hello, I was wondering if this way will work for a KIA Sorento, 2004, as I cannot find instructions anywhere and have been looking for a while on how to change my assembly. Please advise and thank you. =)

If it's a 2013 or older this technique works. I have not removed an assembly from the 14-15 models yet. Is it wiggling around and not attached? There is a spot on rear of the assembly that's clipped in and you have to give it a good pull to release. You will not break the assembly I assure you. Make sure it's all unhooked and start yanking. You want to give a lot of forward pressure but do it controlled and be prepared for it to release. Once it does you pull strait out and you may have to turn it a little. Sometimes it takes me 30 secs to get them out sometimes 2-3 minutes but you never remove the bumper. If you still need help please message illusion lighting on Facebook or feel free to text any questions to 214-429-9094
