    I found this very useful, Thank you. My passenger side lights went out and I have been driving on high beam which I hate to do because I don't want to pay an arm just to get a bulb changed. You just saved me some money. Thanks again. I will be doing this to my M6

    Thank you buddy, your video was very helpful...I was able to my headlight bulb for my 2012 Mazda 6 Gray....Cheers we have same car types..
    Last month, dealership charged me $54 to do it on my drivers side...with the help of your video I did it for passenger side for $18 (just the price of bulb)

    Dynamite tutorial, I'm am not a car guy at all & figured this out pretty easy for the assistance of this video. Saved ~ $100 labor from dealer too.

    You would think the engineer would have made a simple access panel or made a simple way to change it. Taking fender well guard off just to change the light bulb is like removing the windshield to change the wiper blades.

    I love these instructional videos after I actually have done it a few times.
    Take the damn wheel off and get it out-of-the-way. And who works on a car in the garage barefoot?

    i just drive around with high beams until i feel like replacing it... next is to convert mine to led bulbs.. also you only need to remove front pushpins not the whole thing..buy extra push pins whenever you do this... you will have broken ones

    Thanks, I give this video an 8 out of 10. Unfortunately, any auto repair runs into unanticipated problems, such as the numbnut who last worked on your car and stripped out the heads on the little plastic retainer screws or the ones that just plain won't come out at all, or the ones that come out and then scuttle across the floor never to be found again until you move that big wooden crate 18 months later (how did it ever find its way back there?) Otherwise very informative and I'm sure saved me a ton of change that I would have spent if had taken it to a dealer.

      Howd you get the plastic screws that were stripped out? Ran into the same problem a second ago.

      FamousIsLIVE used a flat head screwdriver to pry them out. Broke them of course but there are still enough of them to hold the wheel well guard in place. I'll buy some replacements later. They're inexpensive and easy to find on the web.

      That's what I figured I had to do. Was just wondering if anyone found a better way around it lol. thanks.

    Thanks very much for the video!! I replaced my driver side and now a week later the passenger goes out what are the odds. Still beats taking it to the dealership!! thanks Michael!!

    This looks like a good video I'll be using it as a reference tomorrow when I try to replace mine, thank you. As a side note where did you find the trim? I'm not necessarily looking for pink but I wanted to spruce up the car a bit and I am having trouble finding custom pieces.

      Well goo luck. It isn't too hard, just extra steps. I took the trim off myself and spray painted it. If you get PlastiDip you should be able to do it without removing the trim as long as you mask everything else with tape.

    Thanks straight forward the way it should be done.

    Michael, great video. But I believe you are going through too many steps & removing too much. I do turn my wheel (have to), but I do not jack up my car. I pop-out about 4/5 of those black clips and unscrew the first bolt closes to the front of the car. Thats it. Each side from start to finish takes me about 10 minutes. Granted, my way gives you less room to work with. But the job of replacing a headlight in a 2012 Mazda 6 is not that hard. More complicated than most cars, but not that hard.

      +David Valdez Very true. In my personal opinion, I'd rather take the extra 5 minutes to jack the car up to get the exra room.

    Horrible design to replace those headlamps. I am not happy. I wish I would have known this before purchasing the car

      It isn't that bad. I've read that you don't have to jack the car up, but it sure does make it easier.

      Yep Cars are getting to be more of an inconvenience to work on these days for sure.. All about the money these days. Woulda cost too much during production to make a small cover that comes out of the wheel-well lining. Not even being sarcastic! That's just the honest truth, unfortunately

    Did anyone else have trouble removing the white/light gray plastic cap on the back of the light? On my car, this part is very hard to turn. From the video, it seems this is a near effortless task - slight turn, pull cap backwards. Any suggestions?

    • @MichaelSnyder1990
      @MichaelSnyder1990  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late reply. It all depends on your situation. I've had some that are easy and some that are hard. If it's stuck maybe try some liquid wrench or PB Blaster.

    Here's my issue though.....how do you make the beams straight? When I change the bulbs, they have to be in the right position in order to clip them down, but after I do that, the beams are going in different directions. Am I missing something?

    • @MichaelSnyder1990
      @MichaelSnyder1990  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is a specific orientation the bulbs are supposed to go in. If they are rotated incorrectly then the beams will be off. There are also headlight adjustment screws that I don't talk about in the video, but there are few circumstances they need to be adjusted. First, I would make sure the bulbs are inserted correctly. I know it can be hard.

    What do you use to remove the 3 screws on the bottom front bumper?

    • @MichaelSnyder1990
      @MichaelSnyder1990  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Either a philips head screw driver or a 10mm or 12 mm socket.
