    Thanks this is very helpful. Just bought a new headlight for my daughter's car. I went out to replace the bulb, not thinking too much about it and couldn't figure out how the heck I was going to get to the bulb. The wheel well crossed my mind, but have never seen that before, so I decided to TH-cam it. Glad to see I can do this, but what a pain in the ass.

    5 years of having my car and one of the headlights finally burnt out. Guess it's time to trade it in! Seriously though, thank you for making these videos - they're invaluable.

    Thanks Michael, great and helpful video! Saved me a bunch of money the mechanic was trying to charge me for labor smh. I ended up removing the tires when I jacked the car which gave me a ton of room. Only problem I had was that the plastic screws to the wheel cover wouldn't go back on afterwards.

    Thank you! I messed up the metal clamp and toyed with it for far to long and your video straightened me out real fast.

    Thanks Michael. Am I the only one who thinks it's asinine that it's this much work to replace a bulb? Nice design Mazda!

      It's as much work as my 1978 Datsun 280Z was... but that was a cool old sports car. You're supposed to suffer with a classic sports car, not a modern sedan.

    Thank you very much, has been a headache trying to take it to a place, heard everything from having my bumper taken off to a whole new light system. So simple I could probably do it once the weather warms up, again thanks!

    The wire holding the bulb in push in towards the front of the car and then move it down. It is just a simple hook mechanism.

    Just an FYI...before you put the wheel well cover back on, make sure the light works as it's supposed to.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I think I'll let the guys in the service department do this along with my oil change. This is as much work replacing bulbs as my old 1978 Datsun 280Z was!

    Thank you. I found it easier to plug the bulb in prior to fastening it, but great vid!

    The hard part about car maintenance is troubleshooting what os wrong. Once you know what's wrong, all it boils down to is removing bolts and pieces, replacing the broken part and putting it back together. Replacing this headlight is more difficult than others, but certainly not the hardest.

    Thank you for not talking to me like I'm stupid. I literally stopped a video because the guy was acting like he was teaching a five year old who doesn't know how to remove screws lol

    great tutorial... the Mazda dealership kept telling me they would have to take my whole bumper off just to get to the light 150 dollars...

    Excellent video - clear images and good lighting! This will be easier than I thought. Michael, was the procedure to change the driver's side similar?

    So I got at the headlight and couldn't quite reach the clip to release the bulb so I used some needle nose pliers. The metal clip snapped off, I'm so pissed. I didn't pull hard or anything, the plastic must have been brittle from the cold. I suppose I'm going to have to buy a whole new housing?

    After I changed my bulbs (lowbeam) they are pointing to the side not ahead of the vehicle. Is there a way to adjust the beam(s) or am I possibly not getting the tab in the correct position and would that affect the beam direction?

  • @PAULJETS75
    @PAULJETS75 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you adjust the aim? I have a 2010, but it's same car. Mavis changed ny passenger side low beam and it's not level, it's too low.

    Some of the plastic screws that hold the wheel well liner aren't seating properly: they don't rest snugly against the liner. Any ideas?

    • @MichaelSnyder1990
      @MichaelSnyder1990  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seaileanu make sure the holes are lined up. You might have to hold the plastic pieces together and hold them steady while you screw them together.

      I'll give it try. Thanks for the advice.

    is it possible to do this without jacking the car up? if not I'm going to have to invest in one :/

    • @MichaelSnyder1990
      @MichaelSnyder1990  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It certainly makes it a lot easier since you are able to move the plastic wheel well more. Try looking on Craigslist for a lift. You could also just use the jack that should come with your car. Be sure to use a jack stand for safety 👍

    You probably will have to get a new headlight housing, because i severely doubt that you will be able to buy that specific piece. Try rockauto.com

    • @MichaelSnyder1990

      The fog light? Probably, but not entirely sure.

    • @avenue4624
