I have this DVD around somewhere. It also has programs about the Georgetown Loop Railroad, White Pass & Yukon Route, and the Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway.

Glad it brought back memories. I'll eventually get the time to post the entire program here and not just this short clip. Best Wishes. Claude (producer, videographer of Pikes Peak By Rail)

The railroad was closed in 2017 for rebuilding. The entire track was removed to replace the 1890 rail, to replace wooden ties with steel and to use a more modern rack/cog system. The four twin unit trains are being converted to use the new cog system, The 4 single-unit trains and the entire collection of historic equipment has been given away to museums, parks displays and at least and at least one commercial display. The railroad will receive a new cog snow plow. The railroad will get a triple unit passenger train but not self-propelled (as all the twin units are). The new triple will use a new locomotive pushing. The deport yard goes from one to two track and the depot itself will be rehabbed and expanded. I'll bet I'm missing something! If this sounds expensive, it is. The estimated cost to completion in 2021 is $100 million.
