I remember when we first saw this episode, my dad and I were expecting a twist that he was just some random guy and they left their student at the airport. We thought he didn’t look like a kid.
I don't know why people compare the middle to Malcolm in the middle. The only comparisons I see (other than having similar names) are that they in the same money bracket as the Wilkersons and that brick looks similar to Dewey
I was convinced this guy didn't speak any English and his awkwardness was just because he couldn't understand them and since they don't speak his language either, he couldn't explain that to them so he just kind of awkwardly hovers around trying not to offend. But it turns out they were right all along. He's a dud.
God this show is embarrassingly sad, its like they weren't even trying to write something decent. Axl is lazy - How does that contribute anything to the story? am I suppose to laugh at him eating peanut butter in his underwear? Sue is annoying - Always complaining and freaking out, were the writers attempting to elicit sympathy? and how is her failing at everything positive for her character? Brick is annoying - A sad and awkward attempt of splicing Dewey's weirdness with Malcom's genius. Franky - All she does is a poor impersonation of Lois. Mike - Just sits there and drinks beer for the rest of the series.
