I lived in St. Thomas and stepping off the plane onto the "runway" was a entire trip itself. Them taxi drivers a rich, rich. The safari was a life saver. I noticed that locals paid a cheaper price than the tourist (for certain things). There is so much to do there. And other islands are super close. The island really got in my blood and called to me once I moved back to Cali. Ps they are Americans and you are in the USA (the locals get insulted when you say otherwise) I learned the hard way 😬.

How do did you managed to spend $1500 total? I am leaving in 2 weeks, my flights are $1100, airbnb $1300 and I haven't got there yet. LOL! Car rentals are no less than $600 for a crappy car.
for the plane i spent $660, the airbnb for me and my husbands portion was $330, for food i remember spending about 400 between us two and about 30$ a day for traveling back and forth (we did not get a rental car and only stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days) so about $100 in transportation for the duration. that came up to $1510 if i calculated correctly. of course we bought souvenirs and stuff but it all depends on how long you stay how long you have that rental & stuff like that .. i forgot the price of our excursions so add another $150 or so .. so yea about $1650 honestly lol.
people have to remember, places like this a lot of places in the caribbean you're gonna go to the beach and stuff . that stuff is free, it gets expensive when you go on excursions. plus we stayed 3 nights and 4 days . that's it . im sure we would've been punching more days had it been longer.

Did you have to take a test before leaving the island and if so how much you paid , and if you are fully vaccinated do you still gotta take covid test
hello. only test was Covid PCR test, did not have to be vaccinated at the time. price varies based on your state .

we did not . it's not mandated like coming in . of course rules may soon change with a lot of ppl being vaccinated

yes it is a U.S. mainland territory . it's not apart of the 52 states thought i don't believe . there's a U.S side and a German side
