  • The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a world-class facility any military history buff won't want to miss. Museum admission is 100% free, 7 days a week, and today we're taking you inside the galleries with us! We talk to Deputy Director David Vickers and Public Affairs Chief Gwenn Adams to find out their favorite exhibits. We'll also show you our favorite part of this incredible museum.
    There is SO MUCH to see here, and these three highlights are only the beginning of what you'll find. In fact, as you'll learn in this video from Gwenn, the museum is undergoing a major expansion right now! We'll talk to her about the latest updates from the National Museum of the Marine Corps. We want to thank David, Gwenn, and the entire staff for welcoming Little Wars TV to the museum to play our Chosin Reservoir wargame. If you missed that event, check out the video report here:

    As a former Royal Marine Commando, I wish my fellow US Brother’s and Sisters all the very best! I have some fond memories of serving alongside you in Iraq 2003.
    God bless you all!
    Regards.😉

    I have spent a day and a half at this museum and STILL have not seen/heard everything. There is a wealth of audio stories to listen to.
    You also don't want to miss having lunch at the tavern modelled after the one in Philadelphia where the Marine Corps was founded. The beer on tap is excellent and the food is tasty.

    Thanks for posting this. I am a USMC veteran myself, (and history painter) and will be visiting this museum in a week to help prepare for my upcoming work on the soon-to-be-constructed Minnesota Military Museum.

    My dad is a retired Navy chaplain whose favorite tours were with the Corps. He donated the Chaplain Corps seal from his Vietnam War chapel at Quang Tri to the museum.

    I visited a few weeks ago and there was so much to see and do that I came back a second day. The Chosin Reservoir immersive experience was phenomenal and there is an exhibit of a coat worn at Chosin. And so much more.

    My favorite museum--I need to go back for another visit soon. You didn't mention the trails on the back side (east) of the museum and the chapel overlooking it, which may be of interest to some as well.

    Loving the band version of "Hard Times Come Again No More" - is that version by the USMC Band?

    • @LittleWarsTV
      @LittleWarsTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually no, I don’t think so. Believe that version was available on TH-cams free audio library for creators. We pull 90% of our music from there to ensure it won’t be a copyright issue!

    Ive been there many times and love the place. Me and my brother are both retired Marines. My only complaint/ issue is the attitude that some of the civilian guards that are at the entrance can have. My last visit, many people were getting turned away by one for crazy reasons, and he had a very disrespectful and poor attitude.

      Little Wars are simulations of Big Wars. Understanding one makes the other possible.
