Pixel Fold is cheaper and way worth it for pure Android - $500 off with no trade-in, another $900 if you do a base iPhone 14 Pro Max 128GB - making the unit $400... THAT'S INSANE VALUE right now. Add in the Pixel Buds Pro, Pixel Watch 2 and you've got one hell of an ecosystem.
PIXEL FOLD FOR THE WIN! **It has same OUTER dimensions as the "OnePlus Open" unit rotated it 90°, but a bit smaller with those bezels. I placed some cool looking carbon fiber vynl cover on my bezels, so it's able to be more personalized! **OnePlus could have made their unit fold same way as the Pixel, to gain more usable width for outer screen(!), and still have the same inner screen!. Why compromise on the outer display? To attract the narrow minded Samsung customers? Ugg, big fumble on OnePlus.😢 **The Pixel Fold actually has a "NORMAL" sized phone width, and it's shorter height (than others)means you can reach the top menu bar in one handed use. **Pixel Fold You can see a larger outer screen image, when in "tent mode", due to having that wider outer screen. ** Infinite folding and opening positions. It doesn't loose tension after opening 90°, while other China foldables like OnePlus will want to snap full open past 90°. **Pixel Fold Cameras retain Superiority in quick shot, image color, & software processing. ** Pixel Fold cameras are more optimally placed arcoss top of unit, which makes them totally out of the way. In comparison, Samsung cameras are verticaly placed down the side, were your hand grip the area. The issue is same on the OnePlus Open. It's huge glass covering of cameras causes user touch, so have to wipe lenses free of finger prints before taking pics. **Some videos are showing light interference from OnePlus Open's camera huge glass cover (lighter images in sun, soft lens flare), and it's outer glass is vulnerable to get scratched. Aftermarket cases will not protect it. **PixelFold has the more advanced AI... Like google keyboard, "hey google" verbal commands, speech to text, call screening, and even voice messages having text transcript! **Pixel Fold gets latest Android OS, plus the beta program with more features, like 5 row icons on display, full screen apps, dual display images for cover & main screen, and more. **Pixel Fold having Wireless charging is always a plus as it needs it! So good to have, Lol **The Pixel Fold is More pocketable than all other taller Foldables. Try sitting/squatting with that tall narrow phone in front pocket. It will pop out(!) Because of the narrowness makes it loose in pocket! Then the length pushes it out(!) When squatting or bending forward, in comparison to the Pixel Fold. **The Pixel Fold is More "holdable" than ALL taller Foldables, being more compact and "centered" in the hand. Although other foldables can feel lighter, they will still feel awkward & top heavy in comparison to the Pixel. **The bottom line will always come to how the unit works and it feels in your hand, thruout the day. The Pixel Fold retains this advantage 🥲
I like the Pixel more no awkward camera bump, better photos, more compact front screen but still being relatively similar to a regular phone vs a fold 5, plus the Pixel software/wireless charging. Also pixel recently got an update to brightness the display more often and tends to be brighter than the OP most of the time from the comparisons I see. OP wins on weight/thickness and some tablet features
It's a vote for the OP Open for me. I won't be buying either tho as I can't justify paying that amount of money for a device which tbh I wouldn't really utilise to it's full potential. But hey buy away if you need a foldable!
I was torn between both for my first foldable between those but chose the OnePlus. I really appreciate the wider outer display. Just looks and feels like a normal phone until you open it up.
@@loitersquadX try to hang onto it until next year brother. Qualcomm is getting closer and closer to Apple silicone. The SD8 Gen 3 is still new but battery life on some of the phones that have it are wild and they are fast as hell. There are rumors Samsung will be finally changing the outer screen size on the Fold 6 now that OnePlus and Pixel are pushing them. I'm sure folding phones in 2024 will all be bangers. That being said, I'm stupid and change phones 3-4 times a year so I can't judge if you change it up before then.
@@marcochavanne bro I have had the 14 pro max , s23 ultra and fold 4&5 this year... I really love the fold but sometimes I wish I had them all... On top of that I just discovered the nothing phone 😂 and now I might want that
Neither of these seem to allow you to actually split-screen the open display a la the Surface Duo line. I really wish you could have a mode where each side of the dual internal screen could be controlled independently. The clumsy multi-tasking on these foldables is still a miss. I was _close_ to switching out my Pixel Fold for the OnePlus Open (and would buy the Open if I didn't already have the Fold), but I'm really hoping (and holding out a bit) for some next-gen foldables to have a much-improved multi-tasking experience. The number one reason for me to want to open a phone with the single external display isn't just to see a bigger screen... it's to multi-task. I'd actually prefer a 3 screen phone (think Duo with a third external screen) to either my Fold or the Open. If only Microsoft would take their hardware efforts beyond version 2 of anything (Windows Phone failed because they screwed the devs and kept reinventing the wheel with each new version, the Band was great and I skipped Band 2 because there just wasn't enough difference to justify the minor upgrade and was anxiously waiting for Band 3 but they killed it off instead... same thing with Duo, they had a great product but killed it off instead of sticking with it). They'll never succeed in new product launches unless they commit to 5+ years of product line continuance and rapidly release a few versions.
The Oppo Find N2 is far better than pixel fold, (I've had both, I returned the pixel fold). Not being able to fold the pixel fold to 180 degrees (it always seemed to not be folded completely flat when I used it) was and absolute deal breaker for me. The Find N2 doesn't have a bar at the bottom taking up valuable screen space either. The N2 is also even more pocket friendly, and weighs 30 g less. Also, the pixel fold failed with most modern game emulators, the N2 runs them fine. Probably, the honor magic v2 is the best out now, when it gets released with a global version next year that will be the top dog, I would recommend waiting for that vs the one plus open. I hate the huge huge camera bump on the oneplus open, the phone is just too big. The Find N2 is the perfect size, if it were just thinner.
I have also had both and you are talking shit lol.the pixel wipes the floor with oppo.bigger screens, better battery, better build ,wireless charging,ip rated, better software,no Chinese shit ,better camera, what exactly does the oppo do better
I love wireless charging and would not buy a phone without it. I have charging pads and never have to worry about having to plug in. Why would you need to use the the phone when plugged in when wireless pads are easier and never have a low battery.
Having used both for 6 months. Oneplus comes out victorious. The Pixel is poorly made, when opened it feels like a cheap chinese made tablet from amazon. If you desperately need wireless charging for whatever reason, just get a life. You get super fast charging with a charger in the box! The battery on the oneplus has lasted me just under 2 days and 10hours🙂. Will also add in regards to the hinge he mentions near the start, the oneplus does soften up after about 2 months of use and is perfect now. Overall it is just a better device, its more comfortable to use, the build quality and hardware is 100 times better. The crease on the pixel is annoying, whereas 6months on and the oneplus is still unnoticed. If you compare these as FOLDABLES, the Oneplus is better because of its multitasking capabilities that the pixel just cannot compete with.
Comparing the open to the pixel fold is like taking a knife to a gunfight lol. Pixel doesn't stand chance...most disappointing device of 2023 by a light year. And this is coming from someone who returned his oneplus open.
@lopezlorenzoborja i liked it but was having issues with getting 5g on it and not being able to have different home screens on the inner and outer display was driving me nuts (ive neen using samsung folds for 3 yrs so very used to that).
No wireless charger is a game changer for me. Sent the oneplus open back and keeping my fold until Fold 2 comes out.
You don't even use the wireless charger lol stop being a Karen

Objective and in depth. Good job. Thanks, and keep up! 👍

Glossing over the AI features of a Pixel is a bit like comparing a Lambo to an Audi but never mentioning the Lambo's design.

Shame the new pixel fold 2 is leaving its wider build and going for a taller vuild.
You need some better lighting my friend
I can't for the life of me understand who uses wireless charging, it's so slow and pointless since you can't use your phone while charging it

OnePlus,
and it's not even close honestly lol
Open is too big and too much like a normal phone. That camera island and no wireless charging and bad IP rating. Easy pass
So you'd prefer a small, unusual phone with crap cameras that wirelessly charges to use in the tub?
