I know this is really late, but like 4 years ago when I was in cosmetology school I used this tutorial as practice for a competition (we were supposed to go off images) and I got 2nd place :)
It might be a bit difficult because of the layers, but I'm sure it can be done :) The bangs you'll have to leave down and I've seen it with bangs down and it looks great ;)
The brand is Jilbere. I bought it at Sally's. I love that brand! Their products last forever! I've had that curler for years and it still works amazing!
Sooooo.... I have a medium lenght mohawk, and I've been looking for ages for a 'pin-up' style that I can do, to go to interviews, and be in a 'professional' atmosphere and not look to extreme, and this video gave me the perfect inspiration for that. Thank you so, so much!!!
What do you do to prevent your hair from damage? I mean, you do use a lot of heat daily, and then there goes this hairspray, and other things that really damages hair.. This is what keeps me from doing these hairstyles as often as I would love to! By the way- you are amazing!
I actually don't use heat daily and a lot of these hairstyles can be two day hairstyles :) I also have a video which explains all the products I use to keep my hair healthy :)
I really like this tutorial, however it is hard to see what you are doing because it's so dark. Maybe sometime you could make another one in a brighter setting! Just a suggestion. Love the hair though. :)
Since my hair isn’t quite long enough to to a swirl to the side, I kind of do one that rolls toward the back of my head and swoop it off center a bit. Then, I just pull the rest of my hair back in a bun, spray it and lightly run a comb over it to give it a clean and slicked look. I really love this, though, and when my hair gets longer than it is then I’ll definitely try this because it looks wonderful!
That is SO adorable. The bow is what attracted me to it. Reminds me of a leather one I made years ago(Goth obvously). The nails are great for parting hair. Be glad your hair is fine/thin as it is so much easier to tease. Have used dryer to dry spray but have never seen anyone else do it. Used to use Ion spray yrs ago in pink can. If you use a faster dryng spray(KMS or Paul Mitchel for teasing & sculping t;s easier. How do you see the back? You look stunning. Thanks for the video.
Love it!! At first I was like "Whaaaaaaaat is she doing?" then when you started pinning the back to the front I was like "That is SO cute!!!" I cut my hair so it's not long anymore (Booo me!!) but I do have two tone Manic Panic Fuscia Shock and brown hair and have fun styling it different ways. Keep posting, what a great video, especially for a first hair tutorial!!
Thanks soooo much for this Tutorial . I wore this hairstyle VLV 15 and I got soooo many complements on it and I have wore it to other events in w. Hollywood and all the gay men love it . Thanks for hun . Keep them coming . xoxo
Man this is difficult! The twist part is what got me. I eventually got something that looked similar, but still not at fantastic as yours. Hopefully one day I can get it to look good. Thanks for making this video, it's very helpful!
I just love your look. You realle have that typicall pinup face that not many people have, and you are really good at making these pinup hairstyles. You really look like you are from like the 1960's. You really are gorgeous, love your art. Keep up the good work :)
Its amazing the talent you find on TH-cam. I've done a makeup course, and we also learnt a few hair ups.. Love my hairdressing tutor but shit, I WISH I had seen this before I did my "Pin up" photoshoot. Sooo easy and just.. freakin cool. Thanks!!
I saw the Chop Tops/pin up contest on Friday night and did this hair do. My hair looked 100 times better than the girls participating. Thanks for this tutorial. You're beautiful!
Fabulous job!! You have inspired me to do this with my hair!! I'm a bleach blonde with inspiration now to go back to being a red head and growing my hair out so i can do these type of hair styles! Keep up the great work darling!!
A few things: 1) It's very impressive that you can do your hair like this with those long nails, no joke I can hardly dial a phone if my nails are even kinda long. 2) I have very VERY thick, very wavy, very frizzy hair... Think horse tail after a rain storm. And its also pretty long, I'm about half a foot from being at my hips. Should I even attempted to do this or do you think it'll just be a bust? What adjustments should I make if I do want to attempted this look?
This is really sweet . I have really thin hair too , and I think I wasn't back combing enough before . Great tip on blow drying the hair spray dry too . I love that , it makes a difference :) Thanks for the up load :)
Absolutely perfect! Love your technique! Although, too much hairspray maybe? I was wondering if you have any hairdos with minimal hairspray that you could do a tutorial on?
hey i am from greece and i love this style a a watching some tutorials to take some ideas t have this same style you look amazing with this look!!i just love it
I love yor tutorials, but would be really excited to see a few vintage inspired tutorials without any teasing as my hair is easily damaged. Keep up the great work!
This is very beautiful look if you ask me! Even though this wouldn't work on my hair because I have so long and heavy hair so the teasing parts would go flat very quickly and the hair that I curled would end up straight in no time. But I will definitely try this when I'm more patient :)
Omgaaaaawwwdddd I love it!!! Sadly I can't do it 😔 after my car accident 4 years ago I was paralyzed and my fingers won't work either but if I could I would definitely do this!!! You're beautiful 👍😉
Hello, I love this style on you and I will attempt to rock it this weekend....thanks for your tutuorials they have been plenty helpful....I have a question do you have one on the Rosie look....I can not for the life of me keep the bandana up....or its to high and covers the victory roll....not sure if its because of my texture hair being a black woman....but help me please would like to do this on the weekends. Thanks
At first, I was like WOW... that's a lot of red... and then as the video progressed, I thought you resembled Jessica Rabbit! And it's a wonder with what you could do with those nails! I mean, I had long nails like that for 2 whole days because of Prom... and when Prom ended, I couldn't take it anymore, I ripped the gel nails off because I couldn't do anything :(! You're amazing.
@PinupDollAshleyMarie i would never in a million years thought id do my hair pin up! but your video helped alot! now i can maybe try sporting it! your amazing plus the bow topped it off perfect! thank you!!
Holy bajeezus that's a cute style. I was on board with the swirl in the front, but I was unsure when you started doing the back. At the end I was like woah, that's freaking adorable. I think the fact that we have the same hair color helps :D
Awesome video Ashley Marie!!! As soon as I can perfect my swirl like you I'm gonna keep practicing, but I'll post some pics when I do! Your video was amazing you explained everything very well and didn't go to fast, I say A+!!!! 😊
Oh please don´t let anyone tell you this, you never have too much on your ribs for a beautiful Pin Up style. I´m not slim either, just do it, people will love it!
I'm impressed. I'm a black male and I think that the main objective to styling hair is to simply spend tons of time being persistent to get your hair done. Persistence and patience makes growth.
Shut the front door! :D I was unsure at first..but I looove it!!! Love love love. But where'd you get that bow!? Too cute. I look forward to lots more videos! :)
beautiful!!!, i recently shaved the two sides of my hair in a mohawk style, (don't ask) but i saw your video and i absolutely loveee this style. i also have a square portion of hair on my head, and saw your swirl, i loved it sooo much, do you think i could do it with just the boxed portion of hair???
I know this is really late, but like 4 years ago when I was in cosmetology school I used this tutorial as practice for a competition (we were supposed to go off images) and I got 2nd place :)
It might be a bit difficult because of the layers, but I'm sure it can be done :) The bangs you'll have to leave down and I've seen it with bangs down and it looks great ;)
Look how far you've come from then to now. I've been a fan since this video. You're my inspiration. So gorgeous. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The brand is Jilbere. I bought it at Sally's. I love that brand! Their products last forever! I've had that curler for years and it still works amazing!

Coconut oil treatments help!
I actually don't use heat daily and a lot of these hairstyles can be two day hairstyles :) I also have a video which explains all the products I use to keep my hair healthy :)
First, you are absolutely DAZZLING! Second, I'm going to try the big roll in front and leave the rest down in soft curls. Wish me luck!
I really like this tutorial, however it is hard to see what you are doing because it's so dark. Maybe sometime you could make another one in a brighter setting! Just a suggestion. Love the hair though. :)
The front looks like a beautiful rose when it's done. I love it!
And lord have mercy you have a perfect hairline :O
+Stephanie Carballea Thanks hun!

So jealous! I want thick hair! lol. You most likely wont need to tease your hair at all because you have plenty of volume for it hun!
This is really sweet . I have really thin hair too , and I think I wasn't back combing enough before . Great tip on blow drying the hair spray dry too . I love that , it makes a difference :) Thanks for the up load :)
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE EVERY STYLE YOU DO!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!
+MelBsalon Thanks so much hun!
I am in love with your hair :) I'm dark so I feel like I can not dry my hair that bright of a red but if i had a light completion i would.
That was alright for a very first hair tutorial. You always get better with time and it turned out really pretty.
Absolutely perfect! Love your technique! Although, too much hairspray maybe? I was wondering if you have any hairdos with minimal hairspray that you could do a tutorial on?

Your hair look so good with your skin tone. Great hair do BTW.
@kiiins1 You should be able to blend them in with the rest of your hair but if not try it with your bangs down. I think it will look great! :D
I'm impressed. I'm a black male and I think that the main objective to styling hair is to simply spend tons of time being persistent to get your hair done. Persistence and patience makes growth.
